Instead of Kubus
Kubus alternatives
Kubus is a free, open-source Kubernetes GUI for Windows, macOS, Linux, and the web. It runs locally and brings resource browsing, live custom-resource discovery, multi-pod logs, container and node shells, ephemeral debugging, port forwards, metrics, and Helm release management into one desktop app. It uses existing kubeconfig credentials, supports major cloud credential plugins and proxy or SSH connections, and keeps its local server on 127.0.0.1 without a cloud account or telemetry. Secrets are redacted by default, and destructive actions can require resource-name confirmation.

Kubeterm
Free plan AndroidiPhoneLinux+2AI-assisted Kubernetes management on desktop or mobile — Kubeterm adds mobile apps, AI chat, YAML editing, pod file browsing, and native access to more cloud and OIDC providers.
- 2
kind
Free plan LinuxMacSelf-hosted+1Building local Kubernetes clusters for testing and CI — kind creates Docker-, Podman-, or nerdctl-backed local clusters, while Kubus connects to and manages existing clusters.
- 3
Kunobi
Free plan LinuxMacWindowsLocal Kubernetes visibility across GitOps sources — Kunobi combines Git and cluster resources with native Flux and Argo CD support, while Kubus centers on direct cluster operations.

Rancher Desktop
Free plan APILinuxMac+1Local containers and Kubernetes in one desktop app — Rancher Desktop bundles selectable Docker or containerd engines, k3s, Helm, kubectl, image scanning, and extensions; Kubus is a Kubernetes GUI.

srelens
Free plan Open source APIExtensionLinux+4Broad Kubernetes resource operations and MCP workflows — srelens covers 40+ resource kinds, workload actions, schema-aware YAML, and MCP clients, while Kubus emphasizes logs, shells, and Helm.

Colima
Free plan LinuxMacMinimal Docker and Kubernetes setup on Mac or Linux — Colima supplies Docker or containerd runtimes, nerdctl, Incus, and optional local k3s, whereas Kubus manages Kubernetes resources.

Readers may still look elsewhere because Kubus has no mobile apps, Intel Mac releases are no longer supported, and metrics charts require metrics-server. Alternatives differ in focus: some add AI assistance, GitOps views, local cluster creation, container runtimes, broader automation, or fleet management. Others trade Kubus's single-purpose Kubernetes workspace for a platform with paid tiers or usage limits. Compare whether you need a client for existing clusters, a local development environment, tenant isolation, extra integrations, or a particular operating system before switching.
