When you read
The directory counts how many times each page is opened and how many readers follow a link out, per page and per day. Those counts hold no name, no address and no device. The blog's pages have their own analytics and advertising partners, listed in the blog's footer.
Ads
The directory's pages can show ads from Google AdSense. To choose and count those ads, Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers, and may base the ads on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn personalised ads off in Google's ad settings; how Google uses what it learns on sites that show its ads is at policies.google.com. No consent tool runs on these pages, so visitors from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland may see only limited or non-personalised ads. No ads show to a maker signing in, at the checkout, or on the directory's search.
The blog's articles show ads from Journey by Mediavine, under the blog's own privacy policy.
When you sign in as a maker
Freedom251 keeps your e-mail address, the name you give, the six-digit codes it mails you (as a hash, for ten minutes) and a sign-in cookie (as a hash, for thirty days), and the pages you claim.
Each try at a code keeps the address it was for, whether it was right, and a salted hash of your connection (never the connection itself), for two days, so that guessing can be stopped. Wrong keys typed at the owner's desk keep the same kind of hash, for two days too.
A passkey you add keeps its public key (never anything secret), the name you give it, whether your device backs it up, and when it was added and last used, for as long as it stays on your account. A change you make to a page is kept with the same salted hash of your connection.
When you order
An order keeps what was bought, the e-mail and name you gave, how it was paid, and a salted hash of your connection (never the connection itself), which stops one connection placing order after order. Card payments are taken by Dodo Payments; Freedom251 never sees a card number. Orders, and that hash with them, are kept for as long as tax law asks.
