Instead of DBDock
DBDock alternatives
DBDock brings backups, restores, copies, and migrations together in a database toolkit. Its CLI handles backups and restores for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, SQL Server, and Redis; migration runs in either direction between MongoDB and PostgreSQL, with schema mapping, dry runs, and incremental sync. You can store backups locally or use AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Cloudinary, or DBDock Storage. The self-hosted CLI is free and MIT-licensed, while DBDock Cloud offers a managed dashboard with scheduled jobs, teams, storage, and alerts. Cron automation, email and Slack notifications, encryption, and a TypeScript SDK support surrounding workflows.

A different product may be a better fit when the main task is developing databases, exploring connections, or documenting schemas rather than moving and protecting data. DBDock's migration paths are limited to MongoDB and PostgreSQL, and its CLI requires Node.js 18 or newer; PostgreSQL backups also require client tools. When comparing options, consider which databases and workflows matter, whether you need backup and restore capabilities, and whether a desktop, web, or self-hosted deployment suits your setup.
