Instead of BrowserOS
BrowserOS alternatives
BrowserOS is a free, open-source Chromium browser for desktop that uses AI agents to carry out web tasks from natural-language instructions. Its agent can navigate pages, fill forms, extract data and run multi-step workflows, while Chat Mode answers questions about the current page. It also supports Chrome extensions, several cloud AI providers and local models, plus integrations with apps such as Gmail and Slack. Browsing data stays on the device unless you opt into cloud syncing; using cloud AI providers may involve their own data policies and usage charges.

A different browser may fit better if you want mobile support, built-in ad blocking or tracking defenses that are central to the product rather than task automation. BrowserOS supports desktop platforms, and its documentation cautions that local models are not yet powerful enough for Agent Mode. Compare the platform coverage, privacy protections and browser engine that matter to you, as well as whether you want AI-driven workflows or a simpler browsing experience. Also consider that BrowserOS is free, but some cloud AI usage can cost extra.
