Automatic controller setup, manually assigned button combinations, stackable shaders, netplay, recording and streaming add options beyond launching games. It is free and open source, with versions for desktop, mobile and web, though the browser version has lower performance and fewer capabilities than the full version. The Steam version omits the Core Updater and thumbnail scraping and supplies a selected set of cores.
