Instead of Qdrant
Qdrant alternatives
Qdrant focuses on vector similarity search, storing vectors with JSON payload data that can filter results. It supports dense, sparse, and multivector configurations, and can combine semantic and lexical search. Its REST and gRPC APIs, client libraries, and integrations support different development stacks. It can run locally or through Qdrant Cloud, but the free cloud tier is intended for testing and prototypes and is limited to a single node with 1GB RAM and 4GB disk.

A different database may fit better when vector retrieval is only one part of a relational or NoSQL workload, or when managed operations and another cloud ecosystem matter more. Qdrant Cloud enables security features by default; self-hosted deployments require customer configuration for authentication and encryption. Consider which data models and query patterns your application needs, how you want deployment and security handled, and whether an alternative's vector capabilities match your search needs. Free and trial access also differs across these options.
