Instead of Qbs
Qbs alternatives
Qbs is a cross-platform build automation tool for software projects in any programming language, toolkit, or library. Its declarative model lets teams describe build tasks and dependencies instead of specifying build order, and it supports incremental builds, build caching, parallel jobs, artifact packaging, and Clang compilation databases. It can target desktop and mobile systems, as well as tvOS, watchOS, QNX, and FreeBSD, and integrates with Qt Creator and Visual Studio Code.

The choice may be less straightforward if you need Makefile generation from directories with spaces, since Qbs's Makefile generator refuses those paths. Its Visual Studio, IAR Embedded Workbench, and Keil uVision project generators are experimental, and other UNIX-like platforms are not regularly tested or officially supported. Qbs is free, with commercial, LGPL version 3, and GPL version 2 licensing options. When switching, weigh whether you need a general-purpose build model or a workflow centered on app releases, a particular build language, game-oriented distributed compilation, or a narrower Qt or JavaScript ecosystem.
