Instead of MineBackup

MineBackup alternatives

MineBackup is a free, open-source GUI for Minecraft save backup and restore, and it can also protect any folder on a PC. Full and Smart incremental modes use a built-in 7-Zip core, with restores from local backups or .7z archives. Launcher discovery, hotkey-triggered backups, and automatic backups when Minecraft closes support desktop use. Its headless CLI can create backups, verify archive chains, and perform confirmed cold restores, including server workflows on Windows and Linux.

The fit is narrower if you need scheduled backups or another storage destination: MineBackup saves locally and does not support scheduled backups. Incremental detection is not guaranteed to catch changes that preserve both file size and modification time. Desktop downloads target Windows x64, Linux x86_64, and Apple Silicon macOS 15 or later; the macOS build is not notarized, and Windows Service Mode is deprecated. When comparing alternatives, weigh server versus desktop use, backup triggers and retention, storage options, restore steps, and any required loaders or tools.
