Instead of Igir
Igir alternatives
Igir is a free ROM collection manager for Windows, macOS, Linux, and other Node.js-supported systems. It scans DATs, ROMs, and patches, including files inside archives, then organizes and consistently renames ROMs. Duplicate filtering, language filtering, batch patching, multi-disc playlists, reports, and fixdats cover common maintenance work. It also builds or rebuilds MAME sets by merging, splitting, or un-merging them. Non-destructive defaults, no usage telemetry, and integrations with several emulator frontends suit people maintaining large collections without a paid plan.

Alternatives make sense when Igir’s command-line setup, executable update limits, or platform approach do not fit. Every installation option requires baseline CLI knowledge, downloaded executables do not automatically update, and there is no officially published Docker image. Compare whether you need a web library, browser play, handheld syncing, focused disc-image verification, a graphical MAME workflow, or OfflineList compatibility. Check archive and DAT behavior, supported systems, required companion tools, and whether you prefer collection organization, validation, emulation, or device transfer. All options below are free, but each concentrates on a different part of ROM management.
