Instead of dstack

dstack alternatives

dstack brings infrastructure provisioning and job scheduling together for AI workloads running across GPU clouds, Kubernetes, virtual machines and bare-metal clusters. Teams can define fleets, development environments, tasks, services and volumes in YAML, then manage them through the CLI or HTTP API. It supports NVIDIA, AMD, TPU and Tenstorrent accelerators, and can publish inference endpoints with HTTPS, auto-scaling, custom domains and rate limits. The open-source plan is free; Sky BYOC mode currently carries no charge, while Marketplace GPU use is prepaid at provider-dependent rates.

A different tool may fit better if you need model-development and experiment-tracking tools, model-serving choices, fractional GPU allocation or batch scheduling for HPC. The trade-offs vary: some alternatives focus on Kubernetes, some run across several deployment environments, and some cover fewer platforms. When comparing, weigh the workloads, accelerators and deployment model you need, along with pricing and management interfaces. Also consider dstack's single-host TPU limit of eight cores per instance and its plaintext-by-default server data and secrets unless server encryption is configured.
