Instead of DriveWipe
DriveWipe alternatives
DriveWipe is a free drive-sanitization and management tool for Linux, macOS, and Windows. It combines software overwrites, firmware erase, and cryptographic erasure, with 27 listed methods, read-back verification, resumable sessions, and JSONL, JSON, or PDF reporting. One binary provides command-line, terminal, and desktop interfaces, while drive-health monitoring, cloning, partition management, forensic analysis, bootable media, and PXE boot extend beyond wiping. Raw-device work requires root or Administrator access. ATA Secure Erase and TCG Opal crypto erase are unavailable on macOS, and TCG Opal crypto erase is not yet supported on Windows.

Readers may prefer an alternative for a narrower platform, simpler workflow, hardware-specific erasure, partial-drive wiping, or different reporting and automation options. Compare whether you need whole-disk sanitization or selected partitions, a self-booting environment, certificates, batch operation, or read-back checks. Also consider SSD limitations, removable-media support, connection restrictions, and whether the free edition includes the method or verification you need. Paid tiers may add standards, reports, scripting, or hardware commands that are not present in free editions.
