Active@ KillDisk
Active@ KillDisk erases data from HDDs, SSDs, NVMe disks, USB drives, and other storage media. Editions are available for Windows, Linux, and macOS, with bootable media for Windows PE, Linux, and console environments. The product lists more than 25 data sanitization standards, including NIST 800-88 and DoD 5220.22-M. Its freeware edition uses only the One Pass Zeros method, permits two parallel erases, and does not provide batch scripting or post-erase verification. Paid editions list erase verification and the ability to resume interrupted erases, plus PDF certificates and XML reports. Professional editions include batch scripting that can run without user interaction; some editions list low-level ATA Secure Erase for SSDs. The comparison also lists a Web Service for remote monitoring and HTTP process control, as well as operation-journal export to external databases. The maker says the software can help healthcare organizations document storage erasure as part of HIPAA-related safeguards. Freeware is listed at 0.00 USD per free; Personal Professional starts at 64.95 USD per once. Other personal, corporate, and site license prices are listed separately.
