Instead of 3DMark

3DMark alternatives

3DMark benchmarks gaming performance across PCs, Macs, notebooks, tablets, and smartphones. It scans hardware to recommend a suitable test, compares results from systems with the same CPU and GPU, and estimates frame rates in selected games. Its graphics and CPU tests cover ray tracing, DirectX and Vulkan, CPU profiles, and GPU stress, while charts show temperature, clock speed, and frame-rate changes. A separate Storage Benchmark DLC measures storage hardware through gaming activities.

A different tool may fit better when the question is narrower: mobile-game behavior, graphics API performance, or PC stability rather than broad gaming comparisons. 3DMark has free mobile editions, but its Windows and macOS edition costs $34.99 once, and Linux is not among its supported platforms. Before switching, consider which workload matters, which devices and graphics APIs you need, and whether you want score comparisons, detailed app metrics, automation, or repeatable scenes. These alternatives trade some of 3DMark’s broad device comparisons and game frame-rate estimates for more focused measurement or workflows.
