Vengi VoxEdit alternatives

Vengi VoxEdit gives voxel artists a free, open-source workspace across Linux, macOS, Windows, and the web. It combines shape, stamp, line, extrude, sculpt, texture, paint, and transform brushes with layers, keyframes, automatic keyframing, and IK constraints. Lua scripting, a built-in script editor, network collaboration with chat, mesh voxelization, and exports to meshes and other formats extend its editing scope. VoxBox browsing adds model exchange when an account is available, while an MCP server can let language models control a running instance.

A replacement may make more sense when VoxEdit’s constraints affect your workflow. Saving outside the vengi format can lose scene details, and animation survives only in formats that support it. The editor is still under development, requires OpenGL 4.3, and support is directed through Discord. Compare alternatives by their operating systems, scene scale, painting and rendering methods, import and export formats, engine connections, collaboration needs, and whether you need scripting or animation more than a specialized mobile, browser, or desktop workflow.
