Instead of Synology Active Backup for SaaS

Synology Active Backup for SaaS alternatives

Synology Active Backup for SaaS protects Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace data by backing it up to a Synology NAS. It covers OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Teams, Drive, Gmail, Contacts, and Calendar, with item-level restore and audit logs. Microsoft 365 backups can run continuously, manually, or on a schedule, while versioning and deduplication support retention and storage efficiency. The add-on is free, but it requires compatible Synology hardware and backups are limited by available NAS capacity.

Those requirements may be a poor fit if you want a cloud-based workflow, need secondary backups, or do not have the required NAS. Google Workspace setup also involves Drive SDK API configuration and a service key, while deduplication requires an x64 NAS using Btrfs. The alternatives below are note-taking products, not direct SaaS backup replacements: they focus on writing, sharing, offline access, and collaboration rather than protecting Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data. Compare their platforms, integrations, and costs with the backup and recovery functions you would give up.
