Roborazzi alternatives

Roborazzi is a free, open-source option for making JVM Android integration tests visible through screenshot checks. It captures Compose nodes, Espresso views, Android Views, and Compose lambdas, then compares images with saved baselines and can fail verification when they differ. Its Robolectric integration runs tests without a device or emulator, and Gradle tasks support recording, comparing, and verifying images in CI. It also supports Compose previews, desktop screenshot tests, accessibility checks, and animated captures, alongside experimental Compose Multiplatform iOS support.

An alternative may fit better when the target is a website or Storybook project, or when browser-based review and accessibility testing matter more than JVM Android coverage. Roborazzi has no direct Bazel support; desktop and iOS coverage is experimental, and iOS captures require explicit paths and produce PNG only. Graphics can also render differently across operating systems. Before switching, consider the interface and test framework you need to cover, the comparison and review workflow, platform requirements, and whether paid pricing is worthwhile.
