Mattrbld alternatives

Mattrbld is a Git-based headless CMS for teams managing content independently of a frontend framework. Schemas define fields and validation rules, then generate editing forms for JSON or Markdown with YAML frontmatter. Content remains in Git repositories rather than Mattrbld’s external servers. After importing a project, editors can work offline, and developers can add real-time previews through a preview route. The free product runs on Android, iOS, the web, or a self-hosted single-page application.

Its limits can steer teams elsewhere. Publishing requires a connection and active use, releases cannot be scheduled, and Git LFS is unsupported, which makes media-heavy or binary-rich projects unsuitable. Some Git providers also require a CORS proxy. Compare alternatives by visual editing, framework focus, local or cloud storage, collaboration and review controls, publishing workflows, repository support, hosting, and paid costs. Mattrbld targets developers and agencies helping small to medium-sized clients, rather than drag-and-drop site building.
