Adventure Game Studio alternatives
Adventure Game Studio is a free, open-source IDE and engine for making and running point-and-click adventure games in the style of classic Sierra and LucasArts titles. Its AGS Script workflow, Android build component, and browser runtime support game creation and play across several platforms. The editor itself, however, is supported only on Windows and Windows emulators such as WINE. Mobile and web runtime support does not change that editor constraint, and console export is not offered. Plugin-based games also need compatible builds for each target platform, while the terms prohibit charging money for AGS without written permission.

Alternatives broaden the choice of game styles, scripting approaches, publishing targets, or visual tools. Godot supports 2D, 3D, cross-platform projects, and XR ideas; Construct 3 and GDevelop offer visual scripting; several engines name console targets. Compare those differences with the kind of adventure game you want to make, the platforms where you need to edit and publish, and whether a free plan or a paid subscription fits. A broader engine may add flexibility, but may not be as specifically oriented toward classic point-and-click adventures as AGS.
