Short answer: no Xbox Series X|S retail game has been publicly confirmed as supporting FSR Upscaling 4.1 yet. AMD announced on October 20, 2026 that FSR Upscaling 4.1 is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S, but it gave neither a console release date nor a named launch title. AMD’s list of more than 400 FSR-related games is a PC-focused list of available and upcoming titles, not a count of confirmed Xbox games. To verify a console claim, look for an official developer, publisher or Xbox notice that names both the game and its Series X|S version and explicitly identifies FSR Upscaling 4.1. Instructions for AMD Software apply to Windows PCs and handhelds such as the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, not to Xbox consoles.
Is FSR 4.1 on Xbox Series X or Series S yet?
Not as a publicly documented, shipped retail-game feature. AMD’s October 20, 2026 announcement says FSR Upscaling 4.1 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, but does not establish when support will launch or which console games will use it. The announcement therefore proves planned platform support, not a current Xbox game lineup.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. A Series X|S performance mode, 4K output, an FSR setting shown in a PC screenshot, or a game appearing on AMD’s PC list is not proof of FSR 4.1 in the Xbox edition.
AMD’s announcement is the primary status reference: AMD Newsroom, October 20, 2026. Until a later notice names a game and its console build, the verified Xbox 4.1 list is empty.

Which Xbox games support FSR 4.1?
No specific Xbox Series X|S game is verified in the reviewed primary sources. AMD has not published a confirmed console-game count, launch list or first supported title for FSR Upscaling 4.1.
Names such as Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl appear on AMD’s Redstone supported-games page. They illustrate PC eligibility routes only. Their presence does not confirm that the Xbox Series X|S editions include FSR Upscaling 4.1.
AMD says its live page covers available and upcoming games and can change. It also separates native Redstone integrations from FSR 3.1 games that can use an AMD Software driver-upgrade feature. Even a non-asterisk entry indicates one or more Redstone technologies in the listed PC configuration; it does not guarantee every Redstone feature in every platform build.
Does AMD’s “400+ supported titles” figure mean 400 Xbox games?
No. AMD’s FSR technologies page describes 400-plus supported titles for its ML-accelerated FSR gaming ecosystem, including available and upcoming PC games. It is not a Series X|S total and should not be reassigned to Microsoft, Xbox or console-only software.
The list is useful for a Windows gaming device because it identifies titles AMD has associated with supported technologies and upgrade paths. It cannot answer whether a console executable contains the same integration, whether a console patch has shipped, or whether the game uses upscaling rather than frame generation.

Check the current page at AMD’s supported-games list, then verify platform-specific release notes separately.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHow can you check FSR 4.1 compatibility on Xbox?
There is no established Series X|S user switch that upgrades every game to FSR 4.1. Use a title-by-title verification process instead:
- Confirm that console support has launched. Recheck AMD and official Xbox announcements. “Coming soon” is not a release confirmation.
- Find a first-party or developer source. Prefer a publisher patch note, developer technical post or Xbox communication that explicitly says FSR Upscaling 4.1.
- Match the platform. The notice must identify Xbox Series X|S, not merely PC, PlayStation or a generic cross-platform release.
- Match the build. Look for the game version, patch number or date. A later console update can add, remove or change graphics options.
- Separate feature names. Confirm whether the statement concerns FSR Upscaling, FSR Frame Generation or another Redstone component.
- Check in-game documentation after updating. If a Series X|S patch adds a documented FSR option, install the update and inspect the game’s graphics or video menu. Do not infer support solely from a performance mode or resolution label.
This is a conservative verification method based on the platform-specific evidence currently available. It is not a claim that Xbox provides a dedicated FSR compatibility checker.
Does a PC-supported game automatically support FSR 4.1 on Xbox?
No. Console and PC versions can use different graphics pipelines, memory budgets, patches and feature flags. A PC integration may require an AMD GPU, a Windows driver or a vendor-specific upgrade mechanism that does not exist on Series X|S.
For example, AMD’s Redstone page marks some FSR 3.1 titles with an asterisk because they require the AMD Software upgrade feature. That driver-level route is a Windows feature. It cannot be transferred to an Xbox console by installing a driver or copying a PC configuration.

How do I check FSR 4.1 on an ASUS ROG Xbox Ally or another Windows PC?
The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are Windows 11 PC handhelds, not Series X|S consoles. Their compatibility check follows AMD’s PC rules.
- Open AMD’s Redstone supported-games page.
- Locate the game and note whether it is a native Redstone integration or has an asterisk indicating an FSR 3.1 title that uses the driver-upgrade feature.
- Check the handheld or PC processor and GPU against AMD’s supported hardware. AMD’s SDK documentation lists Radeon RX 9000, RX 7000 and RX 6000 families and selected Ryzen processors for the relevant paths.
- Verify AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is current. AMD’s documented conditions include version 26.10.1 or newer for specified PC upgrades and new APU support.
- Check the game build and graphics menu. Native integrations may label the option “FSR Upscaling” or retain the older “AMD FSR 4” wording.
- For an eligible driver-upgrade title, close the game, open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition > Gaming > Graphics, enable AMD FSR Upscaling, relaunch the game and turn on its FSR option and desired quality preset.
Handheld firmware and software availability can vary by manufacturer. Follow the device maker’s release notes for rollout timing, but do not apply these Windows steps to Series X|S.
What hardware and software does FSR Upscaling 4.1 require?
AMD SDK 2.4 documents FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 and distinguishes supported hardware, game integration and driver requirements. The documented PC families include Radeon RX 9000, RX 7000 and RX 6000 graphics and selected Ryzen processors. AMD also specifies driver conditions for particular upgrade paths and newer APU support.
Eligibility is therefore three-dimensional: the game must expose a compatible integration, the GPU or processor must be supported, and the operating-system driver or AMD Software version must meet the requirement. If hardware is ineligible, AMD says the path can fall back to analytical FSR 3 rather than deliver FSR 4.1.

Is FSR Upscaling the same as FSR Frame Generation?
No. Upscaling reconstructs a higher-resolution image from a lower-resolution render; frame generation creates additional frames between traditionally rendered frames. AMD treats them as separate Redstone features with different hardware, software and game eligibility.
A source that confirms FSR Upscaling 4.1 does not automatically confirm FSR Frame Generation. When reading a patch note or menu, identify the exact feature named and avoid describing an upscaling implementation as an ML frame-generation feature.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What does Xbox’s older FSR documentation prove?
Older documentation proves historical developer access, not current FSR 4.1 retail support. AMD’s Xbox GPUOpen page states: “Xbox developers can now access FSR 1 and 2 in the Xbox Game Development Kit.” Microsoft’s developer sample documents FSR 3.1.4 targeting Series X|S. Those references show that earlier versions and developer samples existed; they do not provide a shipped 4.1 game list.

FSR naming has also changed. AMD says FSR 4 was renamed FSR Upscaling to distinguish it from the separate features now grouped under “Redstone.” Therefore, search results using “FSR 4,” “FSR Upscaling” and SDK numbers can refer to related but non-identical evidence.

What should you trust when a game advertises FSR 4.1?
Use an evidence hierarchy:
| Evidence | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Developer or publisher patch note naming Series X|S and FSR Upscaling 4.1 | Strong title-and-platform confirmation for that build | Support in other platforms or older builds |
| AMD announcement saying Xbox support is coming | Planned platform capability | A release date or game lineup |
| AMD PC supported-games entry | Listed PC integration or upgrade eligibility | Console support |
| PC screenshot, benchmark or menu video | Evidence about the shown PC configuration | Series X|S behavior |
| “4K,” “quality mode” or “60 fps” label | A resolution or performance target | Which upscaler is active |
When should you recheck the Xbox list?
Recheck during the rollout rather than relying on a one-time article or screenshot. AMD’s announcement has no first-game date, and its supported-games page changes as titles move from upcoming to available. A practical cadence is to revisit official AMD, Xbox and publisher notices within two days of a major announcement, then verify the game’s latest console patch.
Do not attach a console purchase decision to FSR 4.1 until a named Series X|S game and a shipped update are documented. A Windows handheld can offer a different, currently checkable PC path, but it cannot answer the question of which Xbox console games support the feature.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enable FSR 4.1 from the Xbox system settings?
No system-wide Series X|S control has been documented in the available sources. FSR must be integrated by the game, so any future option would depend on Xbox and developer implementation rather than a universal console toggle.
Does FSR 4.1 improve every game’s frame rate?
No. Performance depends on the game’s render workload, selected quality mode, resolution and hardware path. A title must first expose a compatible integration, and an upscaler does not guarantee a particular frame-rate increase.
What does the asterisk beside a game on AMD’s list mean?
AMD uses the asterisk for FSR 3.1 titles that require its AMD Software driver-upgrade feature. That notation describes a supported Windows route and should not be interpreted as confirmation for the game’s Xbox edition.
Is FSR 3.1.4 on Xbox the same as FSR Upscaling 4.1?
No. FSR 3.1.4 is an earlier version documented in a Microsoft developer sample, while FSR Upscaling 4.1 is a newer AMD technology announced for forthcoming Xbox support. One does not prove the other.
