To see what is happening in World of Warcraft, start with three in-game hubs: the Calendar for timed events and raid schedules, Group Finder for dungeon and raid queues or listings, and the Adventure Guide for boss information and suggested activities. As of 29 October 2026, Retail WoW is on Midnight patch 12.1.5, with a new raid, a nine-chamber Delve challenge, hourly Aqir Invasions, and rotating weekly events to fill the time between updates.
Which WoW tool should I open?
Choose the tool based on what you need to do: the Calendar tells you when activities are scheduled, Group Finder gets you into a queue or a player-made group, and the Adventure Guide helps you decide what to tackle and what to expect from its bosses.

| Tool | Best for | How to open it | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calendar | Holidays, weekly events, lockouts, guild raid nights | Minimap button or /calendar |

The Calendar is the client’s event and lockout view, but it is not a complete planning dashboard. For a broader schedule, cross-check a current event tracker; for boss abilities and loot, use the Adventure Guide. The Calendar dates and external schedules can shift with weekly maintenance, so confirm time-sensitive plans in the current client.
How do I find out what is happening this week?
For the week of 27 October 2026, the main calendar items are Warlords of Draenor Timewalking and Hallow’s End, which runs through Monday, 2 November. Day of the Dead and the Darkmoon Faire begin Sunday, 1 November.

Check the in-game calendar first
Open the Calendar from the round button at the upper-right edge of the minimap or enter /calendar. It lists holidays, Timewalking and bonus events, battleground weekends, raid lockouts, and events scheduled by players or guilds. Use it to check your lockouts and guild raid night as well as seasonal activities such as Hallow’s End and Darkmoon Faire.
A flashing Calendar button signals a pending invitation, and the relevant day displays a large question mark. Open the event to Accept, Decline, or Remove the invitation. After you accept, the event leader or a moderator can mark you Confirmed, Standby, or Out.
Use a current external schedule for planning
Today in WoW lists upcoming events in local time and offers Discord alerts. Its published schedule lists the Darkmoon Faire at 8:00 a.m. on 1 November, the Midnight Dungeon Event on 3 November at 3:00 p.m., Arena Skirmish Bonus Event on 10 November at 3:00 p.m., and Legion Timewalking on 17 November at 3:00 p.m. Later listings include World Quest Bonus Event on 24 November, Battleground and Pet Battle Bonus Events on 1 December, BFA Timewalking on 8 December, Delves Bonus Event on 15 December, Shadowlands Timewalking on 29 December, and Dragonflight Timewalking on 19 January.
Icy Veins’ weekly to-do guide is useful when you want a prioritized list of current goals rather than a calendar alone. Its 26 October update highlights Warlords of Draenor Timewalking, Hallow’s End, the Sunday start of Day of the Dead and Darkmoon Faire, and weekly Housing and Spark activities. WoW Achievement Plan’s events page says its holiday, Timewalking, bonus-event, racing-cup, Darkmoon Faire, and weekly-reset windows come from the game’s data. These are separate planning tools; use the game client for your character’s lockouts and guild invitations.
How do I queue for a dungeon or raid?
Use Dungeon Finder for eligible five-player dungeons, Raid Finder for LFR raid wings, and Premade Groups for Mythic+, organized raids, and other listed activities. The first two are automatic matchmaking; Premade Groups lets you choose or build a group.
| Activity | Where to go | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Random or specific five-player dungeon | Group Finder → Dungeons & Raids → Dungeon Finder | Choose a random option or select a specific dungeon, choose your role, then queue. A formed group can teleport into the instance when everyone is ready. |
| LFR raid wing | Group Finder → Dungeons & Raids → Raid Finder | Queue for a random or specific wing, subject to the character’s eligibility. |
| Mythic+ or organized raid | Group Finder → Dungeons & Raids → Premade Groups | Browse listings or start one; the leader reviews applicants and sets the group’s purpose and requirements. |
| Player-run backup or open-world group | LookingForGroup chat in a capital city | Form a group manually; this is separate from automatic matchmaking. |
Dungeon Finder: random or specific dungeons
Warcraft Wiki’s living interface documentation says Dungeon Finder unlocks at level 15. It matches five-player groups across a battlegroup, so party members do not all need to be on one realm. The queue is restricted by level and expansion bracket; a character cannot queue for a dungeon outside its eligible bracket.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Open Group Finder and choose Dungeons & Raids, then Dungeon Finder.
- For a specific instance, set Type to Specific Dungeons. Expand or clear the categories, check the dungeon you want, select your role, and queue. For a random run, choose the applicable random-dungeon option instead.
- Wait for matchmaking. When the group is assembled, players are teleported into the instance after everyone is ready.
If a player leaves, the group leader is prompted to find a replacement. Vote Kick is available. Leaving early can apply Dungeon Deserter, which blocks Dungeon Finder and Raid Finder for 30 minutes. A separate 30-minute Dungeon Finder cooldown applies after a match unless you were kicked or the end boss was killed. Those cooldown rules are documented by Warcraft Wiki; the game displays any active restriction on your character.
Raid Finder: queue for LFR wings
Raid Finder is on Group Finder’s Dungeons & Raids tab. It is both a queueing tool and the lowest raid difficulty, commonly called Looking For Raid or LFR. Eligibility can depend on character level, average item level, and, in some cases, achievements from previous wings. Choose a random or specific wing when the interface offers it.

The current 12.1.5 raid, The Unbinding of Kith’ix, lists Raid Finder among its difficulties. For that raid, the Adventure Guide can help with abilities and loot, while Raid Finder is the route for its LFR version.
Premade Groups: Mythic+ and organized raids
Choose Premade Groups when you need control over the group or difficulty. Its Dungeons & Raids categories include Questing, Dungeons, Scenarios, Raids (current or legacy), and Custom. Mythic+ keys and organized Normal, Heroic, and Mythic raids use this route rather than the automatic Dungeon Finder or Raid Finder queues.
- Open Premade Groups from the Dungeons & Raids tab, then select an activity type.
- Choose Find a Group to browse and filter listings, or Start a Group to create one.
- When creating a listing, enter a title and details and set available requirements such as minimum item level, voice chat, and difficulty. You cannot set a minimum item level above your own.
- Review applicants and accept or decline them. Raid assistants can also manage applicants.
Subregions such as Oceania are separated within the Americas listings. Warcraft Wiki’s last stated level gate for Premade Groups is level 50 in patch 9.0.1; that is the last documented gate in the cited interface material, not a confirmed current Midnight requirement.
When is LookingForGroup chat useful?
Characters in capital cities automatically join the LookingForGroup channel. It can be a backup for manually forming a group or finding an open-world event when a queue or listing is not the right fit. Guild Calendar events are better for recurring raid nights: the event creator can appoint moderators, invite members, and use Confirmed, Standby, and Out statuses.
How do I use the Calendar for guild raids and invitations?
The Calendar handles more than public event dates: guilds can use it to schedule raids, invite players, and track attendance. A guild leader grants event-creation ability through Guild Control.
The event creator is marked by a solid crown and can appoint moderators, edit the event’s type, location, time, and information, and mass-invite by level range and guild rank, up to 100 invites. Moderators have an outlined crown; they can invite individual players and change attendance statuses but cannot mass-invite. Announcements do not require players to accept or decline and do not list invitees as Invited. Deleting an event sends invitees in-game mail. Calendar invitations and moderation can also be handled through the Armory.
What is in the Adventure Guide, and where did Delves go?
Open the Adventure Guide with Shift+J. It includes dungeon and raid journal pages, suggested activities, and the Journeys tab; in Midnight, Delves are managed through Journeys rather than a Group Finder tab.
Find boss information and suggested content
The Adventure Guide, originally introduced as the Dungeon Journal in patch 4.2.0 and renamed in patch 6.2.0, covers dungeons, raids, and world bosses. Its pages show phases, abilities, and loot. Ability markers can indicate Mythic- or Heroic-only mechanics, deadly or important warnings, role alerts, interruptible casts, and Magic, Curse, Bleed, Poison, Disease, or Enrage effects.

Suggested Content takes account of factors such as level, item level, quest progress, and achievements. From relevant suggestions, you can accept quests or use a one-click route to search for a group through Group Finder. The Guide is a useful orientation tool, not a complete tactics walkthrough. Its coverage runs from Classic through Midnight; older Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Wrath raid tactics may be sparse even when loot tables are available.
Find Delves and season progress in Journeys
Blizzard moved Delves from Group Finder to the Adventure Guide’s Journeys tab in patch 12.0.0, released 20 January 2026. The tab summarizes Renown with major factions from Dragonflight onward and shows current-season Delver’s Journey and Preyseeker’s Journey progress, with a shortcut to Great Vault rewards. You can configure your Delve companion in the Delves section. If you are looking for the old Delves tab in Group Finder, open Shift+J → Journeys instead.

What can I do in Midnight 12.1.5 while waiting for the next patch?
Patch 12.1.5, The Promise of Tomorrow, went live on 13 October 2026 in North America and 14 October in Europe, with weekly maintenance, according to Blizzard’s announcement as republished by Wowhead. Its new raid, Labyrinth challenge, invasion events, and Season 2 refresh give returning and current players several different ways to spend a session.
Try The Unbinding of Kith’ix
This is a focused, single-boss raid encounter featuring Lady Liadrin. Blizzard lists Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. Mythic uses a flexible group of 15–25 players. Use the Adventure Guide for its abilities and loot; choose Raid Finder for LFR, Story Mode for a guided run, or a guild event or Premade Group for organized difficulties.
Work through the Labyrinth of Kindo’jan
The Labyrinth is a nine-chamber, Delve-like challenge with a final Nemesis boss, Kindo’Jan. You can tackle it in one session or one wing at a time. Completing three chambers rewards one Delve Great Vault slot, according to Icy Veins. Valeera Sanguinar is the companion. Start through the quest The Labyrinth from Kul’amara the Fierce at Tokka’s Landing, the Adventure Journal, or the entrance; then find the activity under Journeys → Delves.
A 27 October 2026 hotfix fixed Labyrinth scenarios that were not granting Great Vault credit. If a completed chamber appears not to count, check the current client status and weekly progress rather than assuming the earlier issue remains.
Catch an hourly Aqir Invasion
Aqir Invasions are zone-wide public events in Eversong or Zul’Aman. Blizzard says each runs for ten minutes each hour, with a sequence of public scenarios ending in a boss fight. Be in one of those zones near the top of the hour; the Calendar is not a substitute for the hourly window.

Combat scenarios can include one of eight affixes: Void Protection, Aqir Burrower, Void Sphere, Astalor’s Anguish, Swarms!, Aqir Elites, Void Infestation, or Web Weavers. For the first-time route, Icy Veins points to The Aqir Swarm from Lor’themar Theron in the Sanctum of Light in Silvermoon City.
Use Season 2 upgrades and catch-up activities
Season 2 began the week of 18 August 2026. Its content includes the eight-boss Venomous Abyss raid, a Mythic+ season with five Midnight dungeons—including Altar of Fangs—and three dungeons from previous expansions, plus new PvP, Delves, and Prey seasons. The current level cap is 90, according to the GamGem tracker verified 7 October 2026.

Blizzard’s 2026 notes say 10 stones upgrade a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Myth, or max-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket, or necklace at the Silvermoon Catalyst. The listed sources are Heroic or Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ 10 or higher, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion chests. The crest cap was lifted the week of 20 October.
After completing In the Catalyst’s Shadow from Decimus in Voidstorm and Prismatic Potential from Orin in Silvermoon, players can get an extra weekly Nebulous Voidcore bonus roll from Orin Straylight. Season 2 also has the Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 achievement, requiring at least 3600 Mythic+ rating; Blizzard lists the title “the Venomous Contender” and a Timelost Saddle as rewards.
For Prey catch-up, Wowhead reports that characters below rank 3 earn 4000 Journey progress per hunt. At ranks 3–8, each of the first four hunts in a week grants 2000 progress. Icy Veins’ returning-player list also points to the Void Incursions introduction, Ritual Sites, the Omnium Folio (Magister’s Missive at 48.3, 49.6 in Silvermoon), Showdown Areas (Riftblade Maella at the same coordinates), and the Coiled Isle through A Call for Aid from Lady Liadrin at 46, 68 in Zul’Aman.
Follow the campaign if you want a story-led route
The Promise of Tomorrow follows the fallout from Ula’tek’s defeat, as Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman attempt an uneasy peace and the campaign confronts the C’Thraxxi general Kith’ix. Icy Veins identifies The Aqir Swarm, from Lor’themar Theron in Silvermoon City’s Sanctum of Light, as the storyline’s starting quest. The Labyrinth quest can also be picked up from the Adventure Journal, Kul’amara the Fierce at Tokka’s Landing, or the Labyrinth entrance.

How can I schedule a raid or find a longer-term group?
For a one-off pickup group, use Premade Groups; for a scheduled raid night, check the guild Calendar. If you are looking for an ongoing team rather than a single run, use recruitment resources focused on raiding, such as Raider.io, Warcraft Logs, Wowprogress, Guilds of WoW, or Raidplan.io. The r/CompetitiveWoW wiki also lists these kinds of team-finding resources.
Keep Group Finder listings focused on forming a group. Blizzard’s Ythisens said in 2018 that advertisements make it harder to find active groups being formed; carry advertisements, including gold-for-boost ads, are not allowed in Group Finder. Gold raid carries may still be advertised in realm-specific trade chat.

Is there a confirmed date for the next patch?
No confirmed live date is established for the next patch. As of 29 October 2026, patch 12.1.5 is live; Blizzard Community Manager Linxy’s PTR notes describe 12.1.7, Echoes of the Worldcore, as the next Midnight content update, while a 12 September Blizzplanet report describes patch 12.2, Eclipse. Those may be sequential updates, but neither source provides a confirmed release date.
The Talebound demo window in the PTR notes—30 October at 10:00 a.m. PDT through 2 November at 10:00 a.m. PDT—is not a ship date for 12.1.7. Use “on the PTR” for 12.1.7 and “announced as” for 12.2 rather than treating either as a scheduled live release. Weekly reset timing also varies by region; the 12.1.5 release landed on 13 October in North America and 14 October in Europe, so “with weekly maintenance” is more reliable than a single global clock.

A short check of all three in-game hubs can turn an open-ended login into a practical plan.
- Open Calendar and note this week’s holiday or Timewalking event, your raid lockouts, and any guild event. Cross-check Today in WoW or Icy Veins for upcoming event windows.
- Open the Adventure Guide with
Shift+J. Review Suggested Content, then Journeys for Delves, Prey, Renown, and Great Vault progress. Use its dungeon or raid pages for boss abilities and loot. - Open Group Finder and select the route that matches the activity: Dungeon Finder for eligible five-player queues, Raid Finder for LFR, and Premade Groups for Mythic+ or organized raids.
- If you want current open-world content, be in Eversong or Zul’Aman near the top of the hour for an Aqir Invasion. Use Journeys to start Labyrinth wings toward Delve Great Vault progress.
- Check whether Orin Straylight’s upgrade quests remain unfinished and whether Ascendant Venomstones can be spent on an eligible, fully upgraded item.
For Retail, the key distinction is simple: Calendar for timing, Group Finder for forming or joining a group, and Adventure Guide for activity information and seasonal journeys. The exact weekly rotation changes, but that routing remains useful when the next patch has no announced date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I queue for a dungeon with a friend?
Dungeon Finder restricts queues by level and expansion bracket, so party members may not be eligible for the same dungeon options. Check the queue’s available list for the character levels in the party; the level-80 example sometimes cited in older documentation is historical, not a current level rule.
Can I use the Adventure Guide as a full raid strategy guide?
No. It lists encounter phases, abilities, loot, and warning icons, but it does not provide complete tactics. For older Vanilla, Burning Crusade, and Wrath raids, the available tactical detail can be especially thin.
Is World of Warcraft Forever the same as Retail WoW for group finding?
No. Warcraft Tavern reported in September 2026 that the Forever demo lacks Meeting Stone summons and modern automatic Group Finder teleporting, so players travel to instance entrances. This guide describes the Retail client.
Does World of Warcraft publish average Dungeon Finder queue times?
No official average queue-time figure is established in the cited material, and actual waits can vary by role, region, and activity. Treat any unsourced universal wait-time estimate with caution.
