Not confirmed yet. As of October 30, 2026, Chucklefish has confirmed that Witchbrook launches on PS5 and PC on January 28, 2027, but it has not confirmed PS5–PC cross-save. The current publisher fact sheet, FAQ, Steam page and official PlayStation listing do not say that progress transfers between those versions. That silence is not proof that cross-save will never exist, so the accurate answer is neither “yes” nor “no.”
Steam lists Steam Cloud, but that feature makes saves available on computers through Steam; the listing does not connect those saves to PlayStation. Likewise, online co-op, cross-play, account linking and cross-save are separate features. Until Chucklefish publishes a specific statement or instructions, buy the platform on which you expect to play most often and treat any future transfer support as unconfirmed.

What has Chucklefish confirmed about Witchbrook’s PS5 and PC release?
Both platforms are confirmed for launch. Chucklefish’s October 27, 2026 announcement schedules the digital release for January 28, 2027 and says PS5 will launch alongside PC. The publisher identifies Steam as the PC storefront in its fact sheet and release information. Because January 28, 2027 is still in the future on October 30, 2026, launch-day account and save behavior can still be documented in a later update.
The announcement’s wording covers platform availability and timing, not progress transfer. It says the game will launch “across PC & consoles,” but that sentence should not be read as a cross-save promise. A game can release on several platforms while keeping separate save systems and entitlements.

Is Witchbrook cross-save between PS5 and PC confirmed?
No. The examined official descriptions do not state that a save made on Steam can be opened on PS5, or that a PS5 save can be downloaded on PC. They also do not provide a Chucklefish account-linking procedure, a migration code, a supported transfer direction or a list of compatible platforms.

This is an evidence-qualified answer: cross-save is unconfirmed, not ruled out. The absence of a feature in a store description is not a permanent incompatibility notice. Chucklefish could still announce cross-progression before launch, in a launch-day patch note or after release. Until it does, statements that Witchbrook definitely supports—or definitely lacks—PS5–PC cross-save go beyond the published information.

The Steam listing is available at the official Witchbrook Steam page. Its Steam Cloud label should be read in the context of Steam’s computer ecosystem, not as a statement that Sony’s console storage can read the same files.

Does Steam Cloud make a Witchbrook save available on PS5?
There is no evidence that it does. Steam Cloud is designed to make a game’s saved data available on computers where you sign in to Steam. Valve’s Steamworks documentation also describes synchronization across computer operating systems, which is different from synchronizing with a PlayStation console account.

The Witchbrook listing does not say that Steam Cloud exports a save, connects to PlayStation Network, or merges with a PS5 save slot. Do not purchase the PC edition expecting the cloud icon alone to unlock your console progress.
PlayStation Remote Play does not change that distinction. Remote Play streams a PS5 game to a compatible device; the cited Witchbrook information does not describe it as a way to import a PS5 save into a separate PC installation.
How are cross-save, cross-play and co-op different?
These terms describe different systems, and confirmation of one never proves the others.
Cross-save or cross-progression
Your progress follows you between platforms. A character, world, inventory or quest state created on one version can be retrieved on another, usually after an account link or server synchronization. Witchbrook has no published PS5–PC confirmation for this feature.

Cross-play
Players on different platforms can join the same multiplayer session. A game may support cross-play while keeping separate progression, or support cross-save while allowing only same-platform multiplayer. Witchbrook’s current materials do not confirm that PS5 and PC players can share a session.
Online co-op
The publisher’s fact sheet advertises online co-op for up to four players. That is a player-count specification, not a statement about which platforms can connect. PlayStation’s subscription requirement concerns access to online play; it does not indicate save sharing or cross-play.
Will a PC save transfer to PS5 at launch?
No transfer path has been published, so there is no reliable procedure to follow today. Avoid third-party save editors, unofficial account workarounds or claims that copying a Steam folder will create a usable PS5 save. The available official material gives no Witchbrook-specific instructions for those methods.

- Check the latest publisher announcement. Look for explicit terms such as “cross-save,” “cross-progression,” “shared progression,” “account linking” or “transfer saves.” A general statement that the game is on both platforms is not enough.
- Read the final store descriptions and launch notes. Confirm whether a linked account is required, which direction transfers work, whether DLC or achievements carry over, and whether a transfer is one-time or reversible.
- Back up expectations, not unsupported files. Keep your Steam Cloud enabled on PC, but do not assume that backup can be restored on PS5 unless Chucklefish documents that path.
If a later announcement confirms cross-save, follow its exact account and platform requirements. If it does not, plan on separate progression rather than risking a purchase based on speculation.

Is Witchbrook cross-play with PS5 and PC?
That is also unconfirmed. “Online co-op for up to four players” tells you the game supports multiplayer sessions, but the current publisher material does not say whether those four players may be distributed across PS5 and PC. Cross-play could be added, omitted or limited to particular combinations without changing the cross-save answer.
Do not infer cross-play from a shared release date, a common game title or Steam Cloud. Wait for a statement that names the supported platform pairing and explains whether PlayStation Plus, a separate account or a publisher account is required.
What should you verify before buying?
Because the release is scheduled rather than completed, the most useful checks are time-sensitive. Revisit the official release page and the Steam and PlayStation listings close to January 28, 2027, then check launch notes for account and multiplayer details.

These details matter because a purchase, entitlement and save are separate things. The cited listings are separate storefront entries, and no current statement says that buying one version includes the other or that your license automatically follows you.

The publisher also says Standard and Collector’s physical editions are planned after the initial digital release. It has deferred details about the physical platforms and special-edition contents. Neither a physical edition nor a retailer listing is evidence of cross-save, and no physical edition should be treated as a workaround for transferring progress.
Where will the definitive answer appear?
The strongest confirmation would come from a Chucklefish announcement, an updated official FAQ or a platform listing that explicitly names PS5–PC cross-save and explains how it works. A patch note or support article could also establish the feature after launch. Until one of those sources does so, the responsible status remains “not confirmed.”
