The console has 256GB of internal storage, with some capacity reserved for system use. Nintendo’s technical specifications list support for microSD Express cards up to 2TB. That does not mean every owner needs the maximum size: choose capacity from your actual download habits, and check the game’s listed file size before buying.

If you travel with a dock and TV-mode equipment, the Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case is the more appropriate format. Nintendo says it holds the console, dock, controllers, cables and up to six game cards. That capacity is useful for a trip where you switch between handheld and TV play, but it adds bulk when the dock stays at home.
Pack for a multi-day expedition
- Console and Joy-Con 2 controllers in the case’s intended compartments.
- Switch 2 AC adapter if you need to charge from a wall outlet; add the dock and its cables only when TV play is planned.
- microSD Express card installed in the console, with any spare card stored in a protected holder.

What accessories fit No Man’s Sky and Minecraft?
No Man’s Sky – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is described by Nintendo as an exploration-and-survival game with online play. Do I need a Switch 2 Camera for GameChat?
