As of October 30, 2026, Witchbrook is announced for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, the original Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. A PS4 version has not been announced. The witch-life simulation and social RPG is scheduled for January 28, 2027, so these are announced platforms for an upcoming release, not versions that have been independently tested or are already available. Chucklefish’s current platform list is the best reference point, with the publisher’s release announcement adding PS5 to the lineup (publisher media page; release-date announcement).

The $24.99 figure is Chucklefish’s announced US-dollar launch price; regional prices have not all been published. “Checked” refers to the platform and pricing information available in October 2026, not to a completed game review.

Is Witchbrook coming to PS4 or PS5?
PS5 is confirmed; PS4 is not. Chucklefish’s October 27, 2026 release announcement identifies a day-one PS5 version, while the publisher’s complete current fact sheet lists PS5 and omits PS4. That omission means there is no announced PS4 edition to pre-order or plan around.
“Not announced” is more precise than “impossible.” The publisher could theoretically reveal another port later, but there is no evidence of one now, and the scheduled launch information does not promise a PS4 release. If you own only a PS4, do not assume the PS5 listing will run on it: the announced console target is PS5, and no PS4 compatibility statement has been made.

PlayStation online features have their own requirement. The PlayStation listing says PlayStation Plus is required for online play, so an online co-op session will require that subscription in addition to the game and a supported PS5 console.
Does Witchbrook support Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S?
Yes. Both Xbox generations are announced. The publisher’s platform list names Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox store listing also identifies both generations. That gives Xbox One owners a supported target without relying on backward compatibility, while Series X and Series S owners have a current-generation listing.

No frame-rate, resolution, loading-time or visual-quality comparison has been published in the available material, so choosing Series X|S should be based on the console you already own rather than an assumed technical advantage.
Chucklefish has also announced Xbox Game Pass availability from day one. The announcement does not specify which Game Pass tier qualifies, whether the benefit applies in every region or how long the game will remain in the catalog. Check the Xbox listing and your subscription tier near launch instead of treating Game Pass access as a guaranteed permanent entitlement.
Is Witchbrook coming to the original Switch or only Switch 2?
Both Nintendo generations have announced versions. Nintendo has a dedicated digital listing for the original Switch with a January 28, 2027 date, and a separate listing for Switch 2 with the same scheduled date. The publisher’s fact sheet likewise names both “Nintendo Switch” and “Nintendo Switch 2.”

What the original Switch listing says
Nintendo’s original-Switch listing specifies one player on a single system and one to four players online. That wording supports online multiplayer but does not advertise split-screen or same-console co-op. A Switch owner should therefore plan on one person per console for multiplayer unless a later update adds a local mode.
Can a Switch purchase be assumed to work on Switch 2?
No. Nintendo marks compatibility of the original-Switch listing on Switch 2 as untested. That status is not a rejection, but it is also not confirmation that a copy purchased for the first Switch will run on Switch 2. The separate Switch 2 listing is the clearest announced option for owners of the newer hardware.
Do not treat the two listings as proof that one digital purchase automatically covers both systems. Nintendo and Chucklefish have not explained cross-buy, upgrade pricing or save-data transfer in the supplied announcements. Those policies may be stated closer to launch.
When is Witchbrook due, and what will it cost?
The scheduled release date is January 28, 2027. Chucklefish moved the earlier Winter 2025 target into 2026 in an October 15, 2025 update, then published the January 2027 date in its October 27, 2026 announcement. A scheduled date can still change, so store pages and the publisher’s release page remain the authoritative places to check for a delay.
The announced US digital launch price is $24.99. Chucklefish says additional regional prices will follow; do not convert the US figure into a guaranteed local price or assume taxes are included. No platform-specific discount, deluxe digital tier or launch bundle has been announced.

Because the game is not scheduled to launch until January 2027, a page claiming that a console edition is already released is out of date. The current information supports announcements and listings, not claims about installation size, patches, performance or review scores.
How does Witchbrook multiplayer work on consoles?
Chucklefish describes online co-op for up to four players. On the original Switch listing, that is expressed as one to four online players and one player on a single system; the listing does not promise four-player couch co-op. The practical setup is therefore an online group, with each participant using a supported console and account.
- Single-system play: The original Switch listing states one player on one console.
- Online group size: Chucklefish advertises up to four online co-op players.
- PlayStation requirement: PlayStation Plus is required for online play on PS5.
- Nintendo requirement: Nintendo associates online play with Nintendo Switch Online.
- Unconfirmed details: Cross-play between PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo, cross-save, voice chat and local multiplayer rules beyond the original-Switch listing have not been announced.
That means a mixed-console party should not be promised yet. Wait for a formal cross-platform statement before buying different versions for a group that expects to play together.
Will there be a physical Witchbrook edition?
Physical Standard and Collector’s Editions are in development for a period after the initial digital launch. Chucklefish has not announced which platforms will receive cartridges or discs, which retailers will stock them, when pre-orders open or whether the physical editions include bonuses.
The publisher’s wording is explicit: “A formal physical edition announcement will be communicated at a later date, alongside more information on platforms and special editions!” Until that announcement appears, do not treat a retailer page, a Switch cartridge listing, a PS5 disc listing or an Xbox physical listing as confirmed. The first launch expectation supported by the available information is digital distribution on the announced platforms.

Which console version should you plan to buy?
Use the platform you already own, while matching the edition to the exact console generation. This avoids the two unsupported assumptions in the current announcements: that PS4 will receive a port and that an original-Switch purchase is automatically Switch 2-compatible.
- Own a PS5? The announced PS5 version is the confirmed PlayStation choice. Budget for PlayStation Plus if you intend to use online co-op.
- Own a PS4 only? There is no announced PS4 version. Wait for a PS4 statement rather than buying on the assumption that the PS5 edition will run there.
- Own an Xbox One? Xbox One is explicitly listed, so you do not need to move to Series X|S simply to reach an announced version.
- Own Series X or Series S? The Series X|S listing is confirmed. Any technical differences from Xbox One remain unspecified.
- Own the first Switch? The original Switch has its own digital listing and online-play details. Expect one player per system for the mode Nintendo has documented.
- Own Switch 2? Use the separate Switch 2 listing if you want the edition specifically announced for that console; do not rely on the original listing’s untested compatibility status.
If you are choosing hardware solely for Witchbrook, wait for final store details on regional price, cross-buy, cross-play and physical editions. None of those policies is complete in the current announcement set.
