The Wolf Among Us Remastered is playable today, October 29, 2026, on Windows PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox One. Its Xbox One edition also runs on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility. The Nintendo Switch version is delayed, despite an earlier launch-day listing, and has no replacement date. The original five-episode game remains a separate option on PC and PS4; the PS4 edition plays on PS5 with Sony’s warning that some PS4 features may be missing. The two editions should not be treated as one platform release: Remastered is a new digital launch with visual, audio and bonus-content upgrades, while the original is still the relevant choice for an existing PS4 disc or an older PC purchase.

Which platforms can play The Wolf Among Us Remastered today?
Remastered’s confirmed launch platforms are Windows PC, PS5 and Xbox One. Series X|S owners use the Xbox One edition through backward compatibility rather than a separately identified native Series release.
Windows PC
You can buy the Remastered edition digitally through Steam or the Epic Games Store. Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 and 8 GB of RAM as minimum requirements. Those are only the published minimums; check the complete graphics, processor and storage requirements on the store page before assuming a computer that ran the older game will run Remastered comfortably.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
PlayStation 5
A dedicated PS5 digital edition launched on October 29. It is not a PS4 release marketed under a new name. If you own the original PS4 game, that older edition can still run on PS5, but Sony cautions that some PS4 features may not be available.
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
The Remastered release is sold as an Xbox One digital game. Telltale states that it plays on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility. That wording matters: describe it as the Xbox One edition running on newer Xbox hardware, not as a separately verified native Series X|S version.

Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered on Nintendo Switch?
No. Switch is not part of the October 29, 2026 launch. An October 8 announcement had named October 29 for Switch, but Telltale’s October 26 update corrected that schedule: The Nintendo Switch version will launch at a later date, with timing to be shared soon.
The October 29 launch notice again says Switch versions will follow, without giving a date.
Do not buy a code or plan a Switch playthrough on the assumption that a listing is playable today. There is also no verified original-edition Switch release, and the evidence does not establish a separate Switch 2 purchase.

Where can you still play the original game?
The original and Remastered are separate products. Current evidence supports the original on PC and PS4, while older mobile and console releases should be treated as historical unless the relevant store currently shows a working listing.
Original on PC
The original game is listed for purchase on Epic Games Store. Steam displays an original-game purchase listing, although direct access to that listing may present an age gate. A listing is the useful present-day signal; it is not proof that every regional storefront has identical pricing or checkout availability.
Original on PS4 and PS5
Sony’s US storefront offers the original as a PS4 game. Sony also says it plays on PS5, with the possible loss of some PS4 features. This is backward-compatible play of the PS4 edition, not the Remastered PS5 product.
Original Xbox and legacy systems
Telltale’s qualifying-owner terms identify an original Xbox One digital version, but that wording should not be expanded into a promise that a new purchase is available in every Xbox region today. Historical platform records also mention PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Mac, iPhone and Android. Those records document past releases, not guaranteed modern storefront access, supported devices or complete episode availability. No current mobile download instruction is established here.

What is the difference between the original and Remastered?
Both editions contain the complete five-episode original story. Remastered keeps that story while adding presentation changes and extra material, so the practical choice is between the original release and a newer package rather than between different story lengths.
What Remastered adds
- Updated visual presentation and audio.
- A black-and-white Noir Mode.
- Five playable deleted scenes.
- An art gallery with more than 100 artworks, according to the publisher.
- More than one hour of developer interviews, according to the publisher.
Telltale says a signed-in Telltale Account can carry defining Remastered choices into the planned sequel. The publisher also says new sequel players will be able to establish prior choices without a previous playthrough. These are publisher-described sequel features; they are not a promise that choices made in the original edition automatically transfer.
When the original makes more sense
Choose the original if you already own it, prefer its original presentation, want to use an existing PS4 disc, or need a platform that Remastered does not currently support. The original is also the only relevant edition when shopping for a present-day PS4 physical copy.
How should you choose a platform?
Start with the hardware and store account you actually use, then decide whether the Remastered extras justify a second purchase.

- Separate native and backward-compatible versions. PS5 Remastered is native to PS5; the original PS4 game is backward-compatible. On Xbox, Remastered is an Xbox One product that runs on Series X|S.
- Decide whether presentation matters. Remastered is the choice for updated audio and visuals, Noir Mode and the five deleted scenes. The original is sufficient for the five-episode story itself.
- Check your account history. Digital original ownership may unlock a discount, but the qualifying copy must be tied to the same platform store and account. A physical original copy does not qualify for the digital-owner offer.
- Check your region at checkout. The advertised US base price and launch promotion do not guarantee the same final amount in every country.
How much does Remastered cost, and who gets a discount?
Telltale and PM Studios list a $24.99 US base price for Remastered. The launch promotion runs from October 29 through November 12, 2026, with the stated start and end times at 6 a.m. Pacific; regional pricing and timing can vary.
| Buyer | Promotion | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| New players on Steam, Epic or Xbox | 20% off during the launch promotion | Store and region eligibility apply |
| New PlayStation players | 20% off | PlayStation Plus membership required |
| Qualifying digital original owners on PC, Xbox and supported stores | 50% off | Original purchase must be on the same platform store and account |
| Qualifying digital original owners on PS5 | 50% with PlayStation Plus, or 30% without it | Same-store/account qualification applies |
These offers may not combine. Verify the discount shown at checkout rather than assuming that ownership, membership and a new-player promotion stack. Physical copies of the original do not satisfy the digital-owner condition.
Can you buy a physical copy today?
No Remastered disc is available as part of the October 29 digital launch. Telltale and PM Studios plan physical editions for multiple platforms in early 2027, but formats, retailers and exact dates still need confirmation.
If you specifically want a disc now, search for The Wolf Among Us PS4 physical game and confirm that the listing is the original edition. Historically documented Xbox One discs are another possibility, but verify the actual disc, condition, region and the console’s compatibility before paying. No individual retailer listing or stock level is established here. A Remastered physical listing dated for 2026 should be treated cautiously until the publisher or retailer confirms it.

What should you check before downloading?
- Confirm that the store page says Remastered if you want the new edition; the original remains a separate listing.
- On PC, verify 64-bit Windows 10, 8 GB RAM and the rest of the published requirements.
- On PS5, distinguish the native Remastered product from the original PS4 game’s backward-compatible listing.
- On Xbox Series X|S, look for the Xbox One Remastered edition and its backward-compatibility notice.
- On Switch, wait for an official date; the game is not confirmed playable there today.
- For discounts, use the same store account that owns the qualifying digital original and inspect the final checkout price.
Will the original game be delisted?
There is no verified delisting announcement in the available publisher or storefront information. The original remains visible through the cited PC and PS4 purchasing routes, but storefront status can change by region. If you want the original edition, check the live listing for your account and country rather than relying on a rumor or an old platform list.
What is the practical verdict for each player?
- Buying for PC today: Remastered is the current supported new release on Steam and Epic, provided your system meets the requirements.
- Buying for PS5: Choose Remastered for the native PS5 package; use the original PS4 edition only if you specifically want that release or already own it.
- Buying for Xbox Series X|S: Purchase the Xbox One Remastered edition and play it through backward compatibility.
- Keeping an existing copy: The original still delivers all five episodes, while a qualifying digital owner can investigate the time-limited Remastered discount.
- Waiting for Switch or a disc: Switch timing remains unannounced, and Remastered physical editions are planned for early 2027 rather than available at launch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Wolf Among Us Remastered include all five episodes?
Yes. The publisher describes Remastered as containing the complete five-episode original story. Its additional content consists of presentation changes, deleted scenes and bonus materials rather than a different episode count.

The available terms do not establish a disc-based upgrade. The 50% owner offer is for qualifying digital original purchases on the same store and account, and physical copies do not qualify.
Do choices from the original game carry into the sequel?
Telltale says a signed-in Telltale Account can carry defining Remastered choices into the planned sequel. It also says sequel players without a previous playthrough will be able to establish prior choices, so owning the original is not stated as a requirement.
Is there a current mobile version with every episode?
A historical community FAQ records iPhone and Android releases, but current storefront availability, supported devices and access to all episodes were not established. Do not assume a mobile download today is complete or officially supported.
Can I use a PS4 original disc on any PS5 model?
Sony confirms the original PS4 edition plays on PS5, with a warning that some PS4 features may be absent. Check your PS5 model’s disc capability and the disc’s region before purchasing; a digital-only PS5 cannot read a physical disc.
