FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE is the enhanced PlayStation 5 edition that combines the complete first Remake game with FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, the separate Yuffie-led story. It also adds upgraded graphics, selectable 4K or 60-fps-focused display modes, a customizable Photo Mode and DualSense features.
The distinction that matters most is between Intergrade and INTERmission: Intergrade is the PS5 game package, while INTERmission is the Yuffie episode inside that package. What is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade?
Intergrade is the enhanced and expanded PS5 edition of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE. The package contains the full main game and the Yuffie episode, rather than being only a graphics patch or only downloadable story content.
The main game follows Cloud Strife, a former SOLDIER operative working as a mercenary in Midgar. It adapts the original 1997 FINAL FANTASY VII through the party’s escape from Midgar, while adding new scenes, characters and story material. Intergrade does not contain the entire remake project or the whole story of the original game.

What does the base REMAKE game cover?
The included REMAKE is the first entry in a multi-part remake project. Its setting is primarily Midgar, where Cloud joins Avalanche’s campaign against Shinra and encounters the events that lead to the group’s departure from the city.
That scope is important when interpreting “full game” on an Intergrade listing. “Full” means the complete first REMAKE installment, not a shortened demo and not the complete remake trilogy. Later installments are separate products.

What is FF7R EPISODE INTERmission?
INTERmission is a separate story arc set during the world of REMAKE. You play as Yuffie Kisaragi, a Wutai ninja who enters Midgar and works with Avalanche HQ to steal Shinra’s ultimate materia.
The episode has its own chapters and can be played separately from the main game’s chapters. It introduces story material and characters that are not part of Cloud’s opening campaign, including Sonon Kusakabe, Zhijie and Avalanche HQ members Nayo, Billy Bob and Polk. Weiss, the ruler of Shinra’s Deepground research center, is also part of the episode’s conflict.
Yuffie’s combat design is a major reason to treat INTERmission as more than a short bonus scene. Square Enix describes new combat and gameplay features built around her signature style, which supports both close-range and long-range attacks. The result is a distinct playable campaign rather than a costume, weapon pack or brief cameo.

What PS5 improvements does Intergrade add?
Intergrade’s technical upgrades are built into the PS5 edition. They affect image quality, frame-rate priorities, photography and controller feedback.

The two display modes are priorities rather than two different games: Graphics Mode favors resolution, while Performance Mode favors fluidity and targets 60 fps. The package does not include a DualSense controller; it supports the controller’s haptic features when you play with one.
Which bonus items are included?
Square Enix lists a group of bonus equipment and summon materia with Intergrade. They can be claimed from the Gift Box on the main menu.
- Weapon: Cacstar
- Armor: Midgar Bangle, Shinra Bangle and Corneo Armlet
- Accessories: Superstar Belt, Mako Crystal and Seraphic Earrings
- Summon materia: Carbuncle, Chocobo Chick and Cactuar
The Cacstar has a specific limitation: it can be used only in FF7R EPISODE INTERmission. It is not a general-purpose weapon for Cloud’s main campaign. The other listed bonus items are delivered through the Gift Box as described in the product listing.
What is the difference between Intergrade and INTERmission?
Intergrade names the enhanced PS5 edition and its package. INTERmission names the Yuffie story episode included in that package. They are connected, but they are not interchangeable terms.

Does the free PS5 upgrade include the Yuffie episode?
No. The free PS5 enhancement available to qualifying PS4 owners upgrades the REMAKE game but excludes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission. To play Yuffie’s campaign, that owner must buy the episode separately.
The PS4 version distributed through PlayStation Plus Monthly Games is specifically identified as ineligible for the free PS5 digital-version upgrade in the official PlayStation information. If your copy came through that program, check the entitlement shown on your account rather than assuming it qualifies.
What do the Standard and Digital Deluxe editions contain?
The Standard Edition contains the PS5 REMAKE game and INTERmission. The Digital Deluxe Edition contains those same game and episode contents, then adds a digital artbook and a digital mini-soundtrack. Square Enix’s press material identifies “Descendant of Shinobi” as one of the mini-soundtrack songs.

How does the physical package deliver INTERmission?
For physical packaging, Square Enix describes the Yuffie episode as a downloadable-content voucher code. An internet connection is required to redeem and download it.
That creates three checks before buying a boxed copy:
- Region: Confirm that the voucher’s region matches the account and console region where you intend to redeem it.
- Used copies: Ask whether the code has already been redeemed; a used disc can remain playable while its one-time voucher is gone.
- Retailer listing: Verify that the box is the Intergrade package, not the original PS4 release or a disc bundled with a separate upgrade path.
A digital purchase normally presents the included episode through the store entitlement rather than a printed code, but the exact display can vary by platform and region. Read the listing’s contents before checkout.

No. Intergrade is complete as the first REMAKE game, but that game covers the Midgar portion of the original adventure and is one part of a larger multi-game remake project.
INTERmission also does not turn it into the complete remake. It is a Yuffie-focused side episode set in the same era, with its own objectives and supporting cast. Anyone expecting the entire original 1997 journey should treat Intergrade as the starting installment, not the finale.

Which version should you buy?
Choose according to the entitlement you already have and whether Yuffie’s story matters to you:
- Buying the game for the first time on PS5: Intergrade Standard is the straightforward route to both the main game and INTERmission.
- Wanting digital extras: Choose Digital Deluxe if the artbook and mini-soundtrack are worth the additional edition cost shown by your store.
- Already owning an eligible PS4 copy: Claim the PS5 enhancement for the main game, then purchase INTERmission separately if you want the Yuffie campaign.
- Owning a PS Plus Monthly Games copy: Check eligibility first, because that version is called out as ineligible for the free PS5 digital upgrade.
- Buying a physical copy: Confirm the region and unused voucher status, since the episode may be supplied as a one-time download code.
What about versions outside PlayStation 5?
Platform and regional listings should be checked individually. Square Enix announced versions for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC for January 22, 2026, but a platform announcement does not by itself establish that every edition has identical packaging, bonus delivery or upgrade rules.
