The original Nintendo Switch editions of Urban Myth Dissolution Center and Schrödinger’s Call are listed as playable on Nintendo Switch 2, so you can bring their original-version saves across with Nintendo’s initial-setup System Transfer, an individual nearby-console save transfer, or an eligible Nintendo Switch Online cloud backup. There is one important exception: Schrödinger’s Call also has a separately sold native Switch 2 edition. Its publisher says an original Switch save can be imported only when that native edition is launched for the first time. Move and verify the original save before opening the native edition.

Which version of each game is involved?
The original Switch versions of both games are the straightforward case. Nintendo’s US listings identify Urban Myth Dissolution Center and the original Schrödinger’s Call edition as supported on Switch 2. “Supported” means the original edition can run on the new console; it does not prove that separately sold editions share one automatically synchronized save.

The publisher’s specific rule is the critical one: an original Switch save may be imported when the native Switch 2 edition is launched for the first time. What should you prepare before transferring?
Prepare the consoles, account and backup route before starting. This avoids opening the native Schrödinger’s Call edition before its one-time import opportunity is available.
- Update both consoles when prompted. Connect the original Switch and Switch 2 to the internet and install requested system updates.
- Use the Nintendo Account that owns the save. Individual nearby transfer requires the corresponding user on both consoles to be linked to the same Nintendo Account. Cloud download also requires the account that made the backup.
- Decide whether you are transferring one save or the whole system. Initial-setup System Transfer is designed for a broader move; the post-setup tool sends selected game saves.
- Check the actual cloud backup if you plan to use it. A game card or memory card is not a substitute for a verified Save Data Cloud backup.
- Protect any target save you may need. Receiving a save over an existing target save can overwrite it, and Nintendo warns that individual sending does not create a copy.
- For native Schrödinger’s Call, delay the first launch. Make the original-version save available on Switch 2 and verify it before opening the native edition for the first time.
How do I transfer both saves during Switch 2 initial setup?
Use the initial-setup System Transfer when you have both consoles and want to move a user’s data as part of setting up the new system. Nintendo recommends local communication when both consoles are present.

- Start Switch 2 setup and continue until the System Transfer screen appears.
- Sign in with the Nintendo Account associated with the original-console user.
- Keep the consoles nearby and follow Nintendo’s on-screen instructions to begin the local transfer.
- Allow the transfer to finish. Nintendo’s process moves user and save data under its stated rules; digital software is downloaded onto the destination after setup rather than copied as installed files.
- On Switch 2, confirm that Urban Myth Dissolution Center and the original Schrödinger’s Call save are present before launching the games.
- If you intend to use the native Schrödinger’s Call edition, stop after verifying the original-version save. Launch the native edition only after that verification.
Do not assume every old-console save remains on the source. Nintendo’s instructions warn that save data may be deleted from the original system, while cloud-backup-supported saves and other saves can be treated differently according to the linked account and Nintendo’s transfer rules. If retaining the old console’s copy matters, check Nintendo’s current prompts carefully before confirming.
How do I transfer one save after Switch 2 is already set up?
The individual nearby transfer is the practical route when Switch 2 is already configured. It needs both consoles nearby, internet access and the same Nintendo Account on the relevant users, but it does not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
- On the original Switch, open System Settings → Data Management → Transfer Your Save Data → Send Save Data to Another Console.
- Select the user whose Nintendo Account owns the save.
- Choose Urban Myth Dissolution Center or the original Switch edition of Schrödinger’s Call.
- On Switch 2, open System Settings → Data Management → Transfer Your Save Data → Receive Save Data.
- Keep both systems online and nearby, then follow the prompts to pair the consoles and complete the transfer.
- Open the destination game only after the receiving process reports completion.
This is a move, not a backup copy. Nintendo Support’s warning is explicit: “This does not create a copy of your save data.” Sending deletes the selected original save, and receiving over an existing destination save can irreversibly overwrite that destination. Confirm the user and title on both screens before accepting.

For the native Schrödinger’s Call edition, complete this original-version transfer first. Verify that the save is available on Switch 2, then make the native edition’s first launch the next step.

Cloud download works when an eligible Nintendo Switch Online membership is active, the correct Nintendo Account is signed in and a backup for the intended game actually exists. Nintendo’s US listings show Save Data Cloud support for Urban Myth Dissolution Center and for both listed Schrödinger’s Call editions.
- On the console that still has the save, confirm that the game’s backup exists under System Settings → Data Management → Save Data Cloud.
- Check the user and Nintendo Account shown for that backup. A backup belonging to another account is not the one to download.
- On Switch 2, sign in with the matching Nintendo Account and open System Settings → Data Management → Save Data Cloud.
- Select the relevant user and game, then download the available backup.
- Confirm the save appears in the original-compatible game before proceeding.
Cloud backup requires membership; the individual nearby transfer does not. Also keep the two Schrödinger’s Call products separate. The existence of a cloud backup for one edition does not establish that it will automatically appear as the other edition’s save. The native edition has its own publisher-described first-launch import process.
What if I trade in the old Switch before the new one arrives?
Nintendo documents a full-system server transfer for this situation. You upload the transfer from the old console, then retrieve it on Switch 2 during initial setup with the same Nintendo Account.
- On the old console, start Nintendo’s server-based system-transfer process and follow the prompts to upload the system.
- Complete the upload before surrendering or initializing the old console.
- Keep the Nintendo Account details used for the upload available.
- During Switch 2’s initial setup, choose the option to retrieve the stored transfer and sign in with that same Nintendo Account.
- Download the transfer before launching the native Schrödinger’s Call edition.
Nintendo says the stored transfer is available for up to one year and displays an individual download deadline. The old console is initialized after the upload. This server transfer is different from an ordinary Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud backup, so do not treat one as a replacement for the other. Nintendo recommends local transfer when both systems can be present.

How do the two games behave after the move?
Urban Myth Dissolution Center
The original Switch edition is listed as supported on Switch 2, and its Save Data Cloud listing provides a cloud route for eligible members. Transfer that original-version save by initial setup, nearby transfer or cloud download, then launch the same compatible edition on Switch 2.
If you use a physical copy, the cartridge supplies the game software; it is not itself a save backup. The save still has to arrive through one of Nintendo’s transfer methods.
Schrödinger’s Call original Switch edition
The original edition is also listed as playable on Switch 2 and supports Save Data Cloud. You can continue using that compatible original edition after moving its save, without buying the native Switch 2 edition.
Schrödinger’s Call native Switch 2 edition
This is the decision point. The native edition is separately sold and Switch 2-only. Its publisher says the original Switch save import is available only when the native edition is launched for the first time, and the publisher’s notice states: “Save data cannot be transferred from the Nintendo Switch 2 version to the Nintendo Switch version.”

Therefore, move the original save first, confirm that it is present on Switch 2, and only then open the native edition. Do not describe this as an automatic shared save or a generic upgrade pack. If the native edition was already opened before the old save was available, the examined official material does not document a safe retry procedure. Do not delete the native save or reset the console on speculation; contact the publisher for an authoritative remedy.

What can go wrong, and how should you recover?
The game is missing from the transfer list
Check that you selected the correct user, that the game is installed or recognized on the source as applicable, and that both consoles are online. If the title is still absent, use the game’s confirmed cloud backup route or Nintendo Support rather than selecting a different user.
The destination already has a save
Stop before accepting the receive operation if that destination save matters. Nintendo warns that receiving can overwrite an existing save irreversibly; the nearby method is not a duplicate-making tool.
The cloud screen shows no backup
Verify the Nintendo Account, user and exact edition. A membership alone does not create a usable backup for a save that was never uploaded, and a physical cartridge or memory card is not evidence that a cloud backup exists.
The old console is no longer available
Use a confirmed Nintendo Switch Online backup or retrieve a previously uploaded server transfer during Switch 2 initial setup. If neither exists, the documented transfer methods do not provide a way to reconstruct an unbacked-up save.
The native Schrödinger’s Call edition was launched too early
The publisher’s first-launch restriction creates an unresolved case when the native edition has already been opened. Do not promise that deleting its save, reinstalling the game or resetting Switch 2 will reopen the import; no such safe retry is documented. Ask the publisher’s support team for the current recovery procedure.

Do I need a microSD Express card?
No. A Switch 2-compatible microSD Express card is optional expanded storage for downloaded games, not a requirement for any of the three save-transfer routes. Save movement depends on Nintendo’s system-transfer or cloud mechanisms and the matching user account.

Can a physical game card restore my Urban Myth Dissolution Center save?
No. A cartridge provides the game software, but the save belongs to the console user and must be moved through System Transfer, nearby save transfer or an existing cloud backup. A memory card is not a substitute for those save mechanisms.
