UNKNOWN PASSENGER 47 is now listed on Steam for Windows and macOS, but LilyCompany has not announced a release date or price. The text-based identification mystery opened its Steam store page on October 25, 2026, and is accepting wishlists. It places players at the center of a fictional aviation-disaster investigation: 47 passengers and crew members are declared dead, yet rescuers recover 48 bodies. Your job is to identify the unexplained extra victim and restore names to numbered body records.
What is UNKNOWN PASSENGER 47 about?
The story follows Soten Airlines Flight SA417, traveling from Taipei to Tokyo when it crashes. Forty passengers and seven crew members die, producing a manifest of 47 people. Rescue workers, however, recover 48 bodies. The player acts as the identification officer responsible for determining who the additional body belongs to and assigning names to every numbered record.

Progress comes from comparing records, spotting contradictions and building a defensible match from small personal, medical and logistical details.
How does the identification investigation work?
You compare 48 body records against the passenger and crew manifests, then cross-check those records against 17 supporting document types. The evidence can include:

Evidence cards can be moved around a virtual desk, while pan and zoom controls help you inspect dense records. Sticky notes let you record theories, and tentative matches can be submitted as you work rather than only at the end. The design is intended to make contradiction tracking and gradual identification the central challenge.
Is there a time limit or a game over?
No. LilyCompany says there is no time limit and no game over for incorrect deductions. Each body record offers three hint levels, so players can request increasing assistance instead of being permanently blocked by a difficult clue. Automatic saving is included, and three correct matches are confirmed together, giving feedback in batches rather than after every single decision.
The developer estimates a complete playthrough at two to three hours. That estimate describes the intended investigation length, not a guaranteed completion time; players who inspect every document or avoid hints may take longer.

What content warnings apply?
The fiction contains written descriptions of an aviation disaster, death, injuries to deceased people and medical findings. LilyCompany says the game uses no body images. The subject matter can still be upsetting because the investigation depends on reading forensic and post-crash descriptions, even though the presentation is text-based.
Who should wishlist it?
UNKNOWN PASSENGER 47 is aimed at players who enjoy slow, evidence-led deduction: matching identities, reconciling conflicting records and annotating a workspace. Its short estimated runtime and forgiving structure make it more approachable than investigations built around strict timers or irreversible failure. Players seeking combat, free-roaming exploration or a long campaign will find that those are not part of the announced format.
