Hosting.com is the current successor brand presented for A2 Hosting, while TOSHOST is the current brand shown on toshost.com. They are not a clean, like-for-like matchup until you confirm which company the name “TSOHost” refers to: legacy tsohost.com or today’s TOSHOST. For transparent shared-hosting specifications, Hosting.com is the safer default because it publishes RAM, CPU, IOPS and I/O limits. For managed WordPress, TOSHOST offers the stronger workflow on paper, with isolated containers, staging, automatic updates with rollback and daily backups. Prices below are term-specific 2026 listings, not promises of renewal pricing.

What is the difference between TSOHost, TOSHOST and A2 Hosting?

The names describe two identity questions rather than two fully equivalent products. Hosting.com’s official comparison material presents Hosting.com as the successor to A2 Hosting, and its policy identifies the operator as A2 Hosting, LLC. Current pages at toshost.com use the TOSHOST brand, while a separate help.tsohost.com PDF still uses the TSOHost name. The reviewed material does not establish that legacy TSOHost and current TOSHOST are the same company.

That uncertainty matters because a review that treats “TSOHost” as a single, unchanging provider could attach the wrong prices, support promises or migration terms to your purchase. Confirm the exact domain, legal entity, plan name and billing currency on the checkout page before paying.

Identity check before comparing plans

  • Hosting.com/A2: Use current Hosting.com pages when you mean the A2 successor. The comparison page covers Starter, Plus, Pro and Max.
  • TOSHOST: Use current toshost.com product pages when you mean the provider selling Classic, SSD Pro, Ultimate, Extreme or managed WordPress plans.
  • Legacy TSOHost: A help.tsohost.com document still carries the TSOHost name, but the available material does not prove its corporate relationship to TOSHOST.

Once the identity is fixed, the practical choice is straightforward: Hosting.com emphasizes explicit shared-resource ceilings, while TOSHOST has the more detailed managed-WordPress operating model.

Which host is cheaper in 2026?

There is no single “cheapest” winner because the providers display different billing bases and product types. TOSHOST lists both yearly-billed shared prices and monthly managed-WordPress prices. Hosting.com lists one-year prices for its A2 successor plans. Treat every figure as a starting term and verify the renewal amount separately.

TOSHOST shared-hosting prices

Plan Price shown Billing basis What changes by tier
Classic $2.00/month Billed yearly; $2.50 when paid monthly Entry storage, bandwidth and add-on-domain allowance
SSD Pro $2.50/month Billed yearly; $3.00 when paid monthly Higher storage, bandwidth and add-on-domain allowance
Ultimate $5.00/month Billing term shown on the current product page Higher tier limits
Extreme $8.33/month Billing term shown on the current product page Highest listed shared tier limits

The shared page lists LiteSpeed, NVMe SSD storage, free SSL, free migration, one-click WordPress, a choice of cPanel or FastPanel, automated backups and a 99.9% uptime SLA. It says storage, bandwidth and add-on-domain limits rise with each tier, but the reviewed listing does not provide one consolidated limit table for those three resources. Ask support for the exact allowance that applies to your chosen term.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

At the displayed yearly rate, Classic is equivalent to $24 for a 12-month term, while the displayed monthly option would total $30 for 12 months. SSD Pro works out to $30 at the yearly-billed rate or $36 at the monthly rate. Those calculations describe only the advertised first term; they do not predict renewal charges, taxes, currency conversion or add-ons. The Ultimate and Extreme prices should likewise be checked at checkout for the exact commitment period.

Hosting.com prices for the A2 successor plans

Plan One-year price shown Sites NVMe storage
Starter $3.99 1 15 GB
Plus $3.99 2 30 GB
Pro $6.99 10 50 GB
Max $8.99 100 100 GB

These are published one-year prices. They are not directly comparable with TOSHOST’s monthly managed-WordPress figures or with a monthly TOSHOST shared price. A fair quote comparison should put the same term beside the first-term price, renewal price, number of sites and storage allowance. Also check whether the price is shown as a monthly equivalent collected annually or as a one-time annual total; the label on the order page controls the amount charged.

TOSHOST managed WordPress prices

Plan Monthly price Storage Bandwidth
WP Starter $10/month 10 GB 500 GB
WP Pro $15/month 15 GB 700 GB
WP Business $25/month 25 GB 1,000 GB
WP Enterprise $40/month 50 GB 1,500 GB

The managed WordPress page also states a 30-day money-back guarantee. At the displayed monthly rates, a full year would be $120 for WP Starter, $180 for WP Pro, $300 for WP Business or $480 for WP Enterprise, before taxes or optional services. These plans cost more than entry shared hosting because they include an operational WordPress stack rather than only a place to upload files.

How to compare total cost instead of the headline rate

  1. Write down the exact plan and currency.
  2. Record whether the quoted number is monthly, annual, or a monthly equivalent collected in advance.
  3. Multiply the first-term rate by the actual commitment period to see the cash outlay.
  4. Request the renewal rate and the date on which it begins.
  5. Include domains, email, backups beyond the stated window, paid migrations and required upgrades in your budget.

A two-site customer should not compare Hosting.com Plus with Starter simply because both show $3.99; Plus includes two sites and 30 GB of NVMe, while Starter is limited to one site and 15 GB. Conversely, a single small site may gain no value from paying for Max’s 100-site allowance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How much CPU, RAM and storage do you get?

Hosting.com publishes unusually specific shared-resource ceilings. TOSHOST’s shared page gives tiered storage, bandwidth and domain allowances but does not publish an equivalent RAM, vCPU, IOPS and throughput table in the reviewed material.

Hosting.com plan RAM vCPUs IOPS I/O throughput Sites NVMe
Starter 2 GB 2 1,024 50 MB/s 1 15 GB
Plus 3 GB 2 2,048 100 MB/s 2 30 GB
Pro 6 GB 4 4,096 150 MB/s 10 50 GB
Max 8 GB 4 8,192 250 MB/s 100 100 GB

RAM is the memory available to PHP, the database and other processes. A vCPU is a share of processor capacity. IOPS measures how many storage operations can be handled per second, while MB/s describes sustained transfer throughput. Looking at all four is more useful than judging a plan by disk space alone: a site can fit within 15 GB and still need more memory or faster database storage during a traffic spike.

Those numbers are useful for capacity planning, but they are ceilings or allocations published by the provider, not a guarantee that every application will run at its fastest possible speed. WordPress performance still depends on themes, plugins, database queries, traffic bursts and caching. A busy WooCommerce site, for example, should ask how PHP workers, database connections and resource overage are handled rather than assuming that an advertised vCPU count removes every bottleneck.

For TOSHOST managed WordPress, the differentiator is isolation: the provider describes Linux containers with guaranteed CPU and RAM, read-only document roots and a separate nginx-plus-Redis cache stack. The page does not present the same numerical CPU and memory table as Hosting.com, so a buyer who needs hard resource figures should request them before ordering.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What the published figures do and do not tell you

  • Storage is not traffic capacity: the NVMe or GB figure limits files, databases and backups, while bandwidth describes data transfer.
  • Site count is not a performance promise: ten low-traffic brochure sites can use fewer resources than one poorly optimized application.
  • Shared limits can interact: a site that reaches its RAM or I/O ceiling may need optimization or a higher tier even when disk usage is low.
  • Guaranteed wording matters: TOSHOST uses “guaranteed CPU and RAM” for its managed containers, while Hosting.com publishes numerical shared allocations; ask what happens when a limit is reached.

Which host is better for WordPress?

TOSHOST is the better feature match for hands-on managed WordPress operations. Its managed plans list staging, automatic core, theme and plugin updates with rollback, isolated containers, daily backups, free migration and free SSL. Hosting.com can still suit WordPress, particularly if you prefer conventional shared hosting with explicit resource figures, LiteSpeed and security tooling.

What TOSHOST managed WordPress includes

  • Isolation: Linux containers with guaranteed CPU and RAM are intended to prevent neighboring accounts from consuming the same resources.
  • Read-only document roots: The product page describes a hardened file layout intended to reduce unauthorized changes.
  • Update rollback: Core, theme and plugin updates are automated, with rollback available when an update causes trouble.
  • Staging: One-click staging gives you a place to test changes before publishing them.
  • Backups and migration: Daily backups, free migration and free SSL are included in the listed feature set.
  • Cache architecture: TOSHOST describes nginx with Redis caching. It claims a cached time to first byte of about 0.15 seconds; that is a vendor statement, not an independent test or a guarantee for your site.

What Hosting.com emphasizes

  • LiteSpeed web servers and NVMe storage across the listed plans.
  • AMD EPYC processors, a web application firewall and malware protection.
  • Automated daily backups with a 30-day restore window.
  • Explicit RAM, vCPU, IOPS and I/O figures for capacity planning.
  • cPanel management, free SSL, free migration and 24/7/365 in-house support according to its guide.

Choose TOSHOST when staging and controlled WordPress updates are central to your workflow. Choose Hosting.com when you want a more conventional shared account and need the provider to publish numerical resource limits before purchase.

WordPress questions to settle before checkout

  • Is staging included on the exact tier, and can the staging database be pushed back to production?
  • Does automatic rollback restore the database as well as plugin and theme files?
  • Are cron jobs, multisite, WooCommerce and object caching supported on your plan?
  • Can you select a data-centre location that serves your audience, and is that option available on the quoted price?
  • Are security scans and malware remediation included, or only detection through the WAF and malware tools?

The pages reviewed establish the listed features, but not the answer to every operational question. Get those details in writing if a staging workflow or recovery time is business-critical.

How do the uptime and support claims compare?

The percentages are not equivalent evidence. TOSHOST’s shared page advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA, and its enterprise page advertises a financially backed 99.99% SLA, seven global data centres and 24/7 L3 support. Those are provider statements; the reviewed material does not include an independent, apples-to-apples uptime series.

Hosting.com’s maintenance policy says, “We target a 99.9% uptime level.” A target is different from uninterrupted availability. Its public status history records resolved performance incidents on September 22–29 and October 21–22, 2026. That history does not by itself establish annual uptime, but it is a reminder to interpret the 99.9% language as a service commitment or target rather than proof that outages will not occur.

For context, 99.9% availability allows roughly 8 hours and 46 minutes of downtime in a 365-day year, while 99.99% allows about 52 minutes. Those are mathematical ceilings, not predictions of either provider’s actual performance. The remedy, exclusions, maintenance windows and measurement method in the SLA are more important than the extra decimal place.

Questions to ask support before signing up

  • Is the quoted SLA available on the exact plan and in your country?
  • What remedy applies if the SLA is missed, and are maintenance windows excluded?
  • Does “free migration” cover your control panel, databases, email accounts, DNS and SSL certificates?
  • Who performs the cutover, and how is downtime handled?
  • Can support confirm the renewal price and resource limits in writing?
  • Which support channels are available 24/7: ticket, chat, phone or emergency escalation?
  • Is support handled in-house for the plan you are considering, or does that description apply only to certain products?

How should you compare a free migration offer?

Both providers advertise migration, but the public descriptions do not define the number of sites, mailboxes or databases included, nor do they promise zero downtime. Treat migration as a service to verify rather than an unlimited entitlement.

  1. Inventory the source account. Record domains, WordPress installations, databases, mailboxes, DNS records, cron jobs, SSL certificates and current disk usage.
  2. Confirm scope in writing. Ask whether the destination plan accepts every item in your inventory and whether the provider will migrate email as well as website files.
  3. Choose a cutover window. Lower DNS time-to-live before the move if your current DNS provider allows it, and schedule the switch when traffic and email volume are lowest.
  4. Test before changing DNS. Check the new site with a temporary preview method, test logins, forms, checkout, media, redirects, scheduled jobs and transactional email.
  5. Keep the old account active. Do not cancel until DNS has propagated and you have confirmed that recent orders, messages and database writes are present on the new host.

Free migration reduces labor, but it does not remove the need for a backup and a rollback plan. Ask how the host handles a failed transfer before giving it access to production data. If the offer covers only one website, decide which site receives the service and budget for the others.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Backups, security and recovery requirements

Both product families advertise backups, but the retention details differ. Hosting.com lists automated daily backups with a 30-day restore window. TOSHOST lists automated backups on shared hosting and daily backups on managed WordPress, but the reviewed pages do not state an equivalent retention period for every tier.

Before relying on a backup promise, verify whether backups are stored separately from the live account, whether you can initiate a restore yourself, and whether a restore replaces the database, files, email or all three. Keep an independent copy for critical sites. A host backup is useful for operational recovery, but it is not a substitute for a tested export that you control.

Hosting.com’s listed WAF and malware protection add a security layer, while TOSHOST’s read-only document roots and managed update rollback address different risks. Neither feature eliminates the need for strong administrator passwords, least-privilege accounts, plugin review and monitoring. Ask who investigates a malware alert and whether cleanup is included or billed separately.

Choose TOSHOST shared hosting if…

  • You need a low-cost cPanel or FastPanel account for a small site.
  • You want LiteSpeed, NVMe, free SSL, backups and a stated 99.9% SLA.
  • Your decision depends mainly on storage, bandwidth and add-on-domain limits.
  • You are willing to confirm the exact storage, bandwidth and add-on-domain allowances before ordering.

Choose Hosting.com Starter or Plus if…

  • You have one or two sites and want a clearly stated 2–3 GB RAM allocation, two vCPUs and NVMe storage.
  • You prefer a published table of IOPS and I/O throughput rather than only a tier label.
  • You need the A2 successor’s standard shared stack, LiteSpeed and security controls.
  • You want to know the site count and storage limit without relying on an informal support estimate.

Choose Hosting.com Pro or Max if…

  • You host multiple sites and need 10 or 100 site slots.
  • Your workload benefits from the published 6–8 GB RAM, four-vCPU and higher IOPS allocations.
  • You can use 50 or 100 GB of NVMe storage without confusing site count with storage capacity.
  • You have confirmed that your scripts, databases and traffic fit the published resource ceilings.

Choose TOSHOST managed WordPress if…

  • You want staging and automated WordPress updates with rollback.
  • You prefer isolated containers and a managed cache stack over a generic shared account.
  • You are comfortable paying $10–$40 per month for an operational WordPress service.
  • You want the host to handle more of the update and recovery workflow, while accepting that exact CPU and RAM quantities are not listed in the same format as Hosting.com’s table.

What are the main trade-offs?

Decision factor Hosting.com (A2 successor) TOSHOST
Brand identity Officially presented as A2 Hosting’s successor; operator policy names A2 Hosting, LLC Current toshost.com pages use TOSHOST; relationship to legacy TSOHost is not established
Shared resource disclosure RAM, vCPU, IOPS and I/O ceilings published Storage, bandwidth and domain tiers published; equivalent CPU/RAM table not stated
WordPress operations Shared hosting with LiteSpeed and security tooling Managed plans add isolation, staging, rollback updates and nginx/Redis caching
Migration Free migration advertised Free migration advertised
Backups Daily backups with 30-day restore stated Automated backups on shared; daily backups stated for managed WordPress
Reliability language 99.9% target; incidents recorded in September and October 2026 99.9% shared SLA; enterprise page claims financially backed 99.99%

So, which web host wins?

There is no universal winner because the products solve different problems. Hosting.com wins the shared-hosting comparison for transparency: it publishes site counts, NVMe capacity, RAM, vCPUs, IOPS and I/O throughput for each plan, and it is the current A2 successor described in official material.

TOSHOST wins the managed-WordPress feature comparison: its listed isolation, staging, rollback updates, read-only document roots and managed cache address the operational work that a bare shared account leaves to you. Its shared plans may be cheaper at the displayed yearly term, but the exact renewal and resource allowances still need confirmation.

Before you buy, resolve the TSOHost/TOSHOST identity, compare the same billing term, obtain renewal pricing, and confirm migration scope. Those checks matter more than a headline discount or an uptime percentage viewed without its contractual conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does A2 Hosting still exist, or has it become Hosting.com?

Hosting.com’s official comparison material presents it as the successor to A2 Hosting, and the related policy identifies A2 Hosting, LLC as the operator. That does not make every page using the old A2 name current, so use the current Hosting.com plan page and checkout details when comparing products.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is TSOHost the same company as TOSHOST?

The available pages do not establish that legacy tsohost.com and current toshost.com are the same company. Treat the names as unresolved until the legal entity, domain and support organization shown during checkout match your expectations.

Which provider is cheaper after renewal?

The published figures show first-term prices, but they do not establish renewal prices for every plan. Ask each provider for the renewal amount, billing interval, taxes and any setup charges, then compare the total cost for the same number of sites and the same term.

  • What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.

Is the 0.15-second WordPress response time guaranteed?

No. The approximately 0.15-second cached time-to-first-byte figure is a statement on TOSHOST’s product page, not an independent benchmark. Actual response time varies with cache state, application code, traffic and network location.

What should I record when comparing renewal costs?

Keep the first-term price, billing period, renewal price, included sites, storage and any setup or migration conditions in the same worksheet. A yearly promotional figure and an unqualified monthly figure can make an otherwise more expensive plan look cheaper.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does free migration include email and DNS?

Neither provider’s reviewed public description defines the full scope. Ask whether mailboxes, messages, DNS records, databases, cron jobs, SSL certificates and post-move testing are included, how many sites are covered and how downtime is handled.

Is cPanel available from both hosts?

TOSHOST’s shared page lists a choice of cPanel or FastPanel. Hosting.com’s guide describes cPanel management. Confirm the exact control panel on your selected plan because control-panel availability can affect migration steps and administrative workflows.

How much does managed WordPress cost for a year at TOSHOST?

At the displayed monthly rates, WP Starter is $120 for 12 months, WP Pro $180, WP Business $300 and WP Enterprise $480, before taxes or optional services. Confirm whether a different billing term or renewal rate applies at checkout.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Pick Hosting.com for clearly published shared-resource limits and the current A2 successor brand. Pick TOSHOST managed WordPress when isolation, staging and rollback updates matter more than a low entry price. Verify identity, renewal pricing, SLA terms and migration scope before committing.
