Kalypso Media’s announcement describes the demo as a free Steam Next Fest release featuring the first campaign mission, “Little Great Britain.” The announcement also repeats the January 28 launch date and says a Deluxe Edition will receive a physical retail release on selected platforms and in selected territories. None of those statements includes an import procedure.
The official Tropico 7 Steam forum has a pinned FAQ and a notice that the demo period was extended to November 9. The currently visible forum index does not provide a direct answer about moving demo saves into the full product. No. Steam Cloud confirms that the product can synchronize supported files, but the listing does not state that the Tropico 7 demo and full game share cloud storage, use identical save formats or expose the same save slots.
Cloud synchronization can also preserve an old file without making it readable by another application. A demo and a full release may have different app identifiers, directory paths or version checks. Therefore, seeing a cloud icon in Steam is not evidence that a full-game installation will automatically present your demo island.
