This The Séance of Blake Manor walkthrough explains how to investigate every room without burning through the clock, solve the opening case, use all documented passwords and codes, work out how to solve Blake Manor hypotheses, and prepare for all endings. The key to the murder investigation is not guessing: prove that Miss Deane’s departure letter was forged, then follow the journal’s evidence and the guests’ schedules. This is a spoiler-heavy guide, especially in the code, culprit, and ending sections.
Set in west Ireland in 1897, the first-person supernatural detective adventure puts Declan Ward at Blake Manor before Halloween, 48 hours before a séance. He must investigate Evelyn Deane’s disappearance and identify the culprit before another disappearance. Time advances when Ward actively investigates, so the aim is not to click everything; it is to connect the right evidence, person, and room before the relevant opportunity passes.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Before you start: treat time as evidence
Blake Manor is not built around a free-roaming checklist that you can complete at leisure. The investigation takes place over a limited weekend, and the clock is the main resource. Examining objects, asking questions, and interrogating guests advances time; schedules then determine who is available, where they are, and which conversations can be triggered. Raw Fury’s official page puts the warning plainly: “each action and every lost minute counts the day down.” GamesRadar+ Games Editor Oscar Taylor-Kent similarly describes time passing, often minute by minute, when you actively choose to investigate.
That design has two practical consequences. First, a locked door is often a scheduling problem as much as a code problem: the person who can explain it may be in a different room later. Second, optional curiosity can have a real opportunity cost. If a case is open in the journal, use it to decide what deserves a minute. You can return to decorative objects later only if the timetable still gives you the opportunity.

Keep a manual save before a major confrontation and before entering the final Blake Residence sequence, if your platform allows manual saves. A backup is particularly useful when you are pursuing several outcomes or achievement routes, because the game documents distinct secret, best, good, bad, survival, and failure states.
How does the investigation work?
The journal is the investigation engine, not just a record of what Ward has seen. Its evidence nodes, people, objects, conversations, and mind maps reveal what has been found and what remains unconnected. A case can look complete because every visible item in a room has been examined, yet still be missing a conversation node. Conversely, an apparently insignificant object may contain several separate analysis points.
A reliable loop for each new mystery
- Open the relevant journal page and read its mind map. Identify the missing node, named person, or object detail before spending time walking.
- Check the timetable. Guests move between their rooms, the library, bar, dining areas, drawing-room talks, and other scheduled activities. The schedule is a route planner.
- Enter a room when its occupant is away, unless the story explicitly allows entry. If the room is occupied, leaving and returning at a better time is usually safer than forcing a search.
- Activate detective mode to reveal interactable objects. On a document, safe, symbol, or other relevant object, inspect every marked part that produces a magnifying-glass or analysis prompt.
- Return to the journal and ask the character linked to the new clue. A conversation can be the missing node even after the room itself has been searched completely.
- Use Think only after the evidence map has unlocked the necessary words. Selecting a conclusion early wastes time and does not replace missing evidence.
- Read the new journal entry immediately after solving a hypothesis. It commonly identifies the next useful room, witness, object, or conversation.
- Save before a major confrontation or the final residence and ritual sequence whenever possible.
If a room appears empty of progress, leave rather than repeatedly opening the same drawers. Follow the journal’s suggested witness. For a locked area, look for nearby clues first; use the code table below when speed or achievement cleanup matters more than solving the lock organically.
How do I solve Miss Deane’s departure?
The opening case teaches the complete logic of The Séance of Blake Manor: establish a discrepancy, collect the linked evidence, question the right person, and then make a journal deduction. The crucial conclusion is that Miss Deane’s departure letter was forged, so her apparent departure does not explain her disappearance.
Arrival and the guest book
- After the opening sequence, approach the manor and observe the fountain area. Enter the hotel, ring for manager Vincent Varley, and sign the guest book.
- Enter analysis mode and inspect Evelyn Deane’s signature, the checked-out guest list, the signatures beside hers, and the marked “X” on the next page. These details establish that the departure record deserves scrutiny.
- Keep the opening focused on this case. Every investigation action costs one minute in this sequence, and optional scenery does not help complete the first hypothesis.
The important observation is not merely that a letter exists. The guest-book signatures give Ward something to compare, while the checked-out list and the marked page indicate that the record itself may be manipulated. That is why the journal will not accept a conclusion based on the letter alone.
Repair the telegraph and alert Varley
Take the discs that appear after Varley arrives and go to the telegraph room. Remove the old battery, then insert the discs in this exact order: Copper, Paper, Zinc. Repeat that three-disc sequence six times to reach the required six volts. Return to Varley and discuss the clue “Telegraph. Repaired.” Do not substitute a different order or stop after one sequence; the target is six volts.

Inspect the manager’s office letter
Wait until Varley leaves before entering the manager’s office. Search the relevant desk and room evidence, including the letter hidden beneath the office materials. Picking up the letter is not enough: analyze the marked signature details. The walkthroughs call attention to the top swirl above the E in Evelyn, the lower portion of the y, and the swirl or lower detail of the D in Deane. Screen descriptions differ on the final detail, so follow the marked signature feature rather than relying on a verbal label.
Make the deduction and leave safely
- Open the journal, choose Think, and select Miss Deane’s departure, then letter, then forged.
- When prompted for the next conclusion, choose “They can write.”
- Do not leave through the office door. Varley catches Ward there and the game ends. Climb out through the window, return via the manor’s main entrance, speak to Varley, and go to Room 4 to rest.
The first-night dream
The first dream sequence introduces sigil-drawing puzzles. Follow the corridor, draw an unbroken line through each required point, and complete the final symbol when the monolith appears. The dream is part of the supernatural progression, not an optional room investigation, so do not treat it as a detour from the first case.
How to solve Blake Manor hypotheses efficiently
A hypothesis is the journal’s way of testing whether your evidence is sufficient. When Think becomes available, read every word in the mind map and match the categories the game presents. If a choice is unavailable, that is a sign that an object detail or conversation is still missing, not an invitation to guess.
Use the following check before each deduction:
- Have you inspected every marked part of the relevant document or object, not just picked it up?
- Have you spoken to the named witness suggested by the journal?
- Have you checked whether that witness is available at the current hour?
- Have you reread the new journal entry from the last solved hypothesis?
This approach prevents the most common stall: searching an already-cleared bedroom while the needed evidence is actually a scheduled conversation elsewhere. It also keeps the clock under control because each action has a purpose.
How should I investigate every room without wasting time?
Use a completion route when optional character stories and survival outcomes matter; use a speed route when the priority is the central case and reaching the end. Neither means searching every object. The useful distinction is whether a room or conversation advances an active journal mystery.
| Approach | Prioritize | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Completion route | Personal mysteries, scheduled talks, optional areas, and investigations tied to survival or secret-ending achievements. | More optional mysteries and potential guest outcomes, but more schedule tracking and investigation time. |
| Speed route | The central investigation, journal-linked evidence, and the next specific witness or object. | More time-efficient, but optional survival conditions and achievement routes may be missed. |
Before entering, check the hour, the occupant’s schedule, the active journal mystery, and the likely evidence target. Inside, use detective mode and follow analysis prompts on relevant objects. Afterward, ask the person connected to the clue and update the journal. Guests may move among the library, bar, dining areas, drawing-room talks, and their own rooms; waiting blindly or revisiting an empty room can cost the opportunity to speak at a useful time.

Room access is also a stealth and story concern. Search when occupants are away unless the story explicitly permits access. In the manager’s office, for example, entering through the door after Varley leaves is not equivalent to leaving through it after the deduction: the latter triggers the fatal catch. Read each room’s context instead of assuming that a familiar entrance or exit remains safe.
When the journal names a witness, treat that lead as more valuable than a general sweep. Optional mysteries are not merely collectible lore: The Click notes that resolving personal cases before entering the Blake Residence can affect who survives the Grand Séance. If you are pursuing survival outcomes, solve as many personal mysteries as the schedule permits before that sequence.

The table is deliberately placed after the first-case walkthrough. Entering a code can reveal rooms or containers before the journal has introduced their context, which increases spoilers and can make the timetable harder to follow. For a first run, use the clues and return to the table only when a lock is blocking a known objective.
What mysteries should I track for full completion?
The timestamped full-playthrough index documents the investigations and optional beats below. Use it as a completion checklist, not as a substitute for a clue-by-clue solution: it is not a text transcript of every conversation and does not establish evidence locations for every case.
Major investigations and story beats
- Miss Deane’s Departure; Toussaint and Erickson; the walled-in lovers; Miss Deane’s Bedroom; the Trail.
- D’Arcy; O’Meara; Skerritt; Dr. Callaghan and Miss Callaghan; Mantovani; the Fight.
- Dupré and Joyce; Lau; Quinn and Barbosa; Miss Deane’s Attendance; the Dream; the Haunting; the Chase.
- The Darkside Detective catacomb easter egg; Hisham and The Curse of Nectanebo II; O’Finn; the Missing Person.
- Hunter, McLeod, and Lau; the Basement; Doyle and Sinnott; Murphy; Varley and Lost Cache.
- Blake Residence; Walter Blake; the Culprit; Coventry; the Ritual.
Optional and outcome-related checklist
- Attend the Drawing Room talks, the Masked Ball, Mass, and Service.
- Pet the horse in the Stables.
- Track the outcomes for saving O’Finn and Evelyn Deane, and for the death of every last Blake.
- Record end-state achievements and outcomes separately: secret ending, best ending, good ending, bad ending, reaching a dead end, and stopping the ritual while failing to save Evelyn.
The list is useful for a second pass because it separates named investigations from activities that are easy to overlook. Attendance events, the horse interaction, and the catacomb easter egg are not replacements for the central hypotheses; they are completion targets that compete for the same scheduled time.

How do I prepare for all endings?
For the best chance at a favorable outcome, handle personal mysteries before entering the Blake Residence, keep track of guest schedules, and complete the investigations associated with saving O’Finn and Evelyn Deane. The final sigil is a separate endgame decision: it does not replace resolving character mysteries.
- Resolve as many personal cases as the available schedule permits before the Blake Residence.
- Use journal leads to find the right guest and choose a time when that person is available; do not wait without checking the timetable.
- Complete the investigations tied to saving O’Finn and Evelyn Deane if those outcomes matter to your run.
- Make a manual save before the final residence and ritual sequence if possible.
- Approach the sigil choice as its own decision. If pursuing achievements, note which outcome you want: the playthrough index documents both opening and closing the portal, as well as stopping the ritual but failing to save Evelyn.
The documented achievement and outcome names include World’s Best Detective, secret ending, God-Killer, Come with Me If You Want to Live, And Then a Hero Comes Along, Open the Portal, Close the Portal, Reach a dead end, and Stop the ritual but fail to save Evelyn. The timestamped playthrough identifies sequences for these beats, but it does not establish that every outcome is obtainable in one run or provide a complete branching dialogue tree. That is why a pre-residence save is more useful than trying to force every ending during the same uninterrupted route.
Common mistakes and how to recover
- Searching by habit: If the journal points to a witness, stop sweeping drawers and find that person on the timetable.
- Taking an object without analyzing it: Documents and symbols can contain several investigation points. Re-enter analysis mode and inspect every marked feature.
- Questioning the wrong guest: The relevant conversation is often tied to the newest evidence node, not to the room you just left.
- Leaving through the obvious door: The manager’s office demonstrates that an exit can be a story trigger. Follow the documented window route after the forgery deduction.
- Using codes too early: A password can open a location before its schedule or journal context is ready. Use the clue first when possible.
- Entering the Blake Residence too soon: Personal mysteries can affect who survives the Grand Séance. Finish the cases that matter to your intended ending first.
- Assuming the sigil decides everything: The sigil is a separate endgame choice; it cannot substitute for solving character mysteries or saving named guests.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I unlock every ending in one playthrough?
The documented completion index lists distinct secret, best, good, bad, survival, and failure states, but it does not establish whether they can all be reached from one save. Keep a save before the Blake Residence and ritual sequence so you can explore separate outcomes.
Does the journal tell me where to go next?
Often, yes. A solved hypothesis can add an entry pointing toward a witness, room, or conversation. Check the mind map after each conclusion instead of assuming the next step is another room search.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Why does the departure letter matter so much?
The signature details let Ward challenge the account that Evelyn checked out and left. Analyze the marked parts of the signatures and choose Miss Deane’s departure, letter, forged, followed by “They can write.”
What is the telegraph disc order?
Use Copper, Paper, Zinc, and repeat that sequence six times to reach six volts. Then return to Varley and discuss “Telegraph. Repaired.”

Is the password list an official guide?
No. The combinations come from a user-authored Steam Community guide whose page was later removed from visibility. Where possible, use the documented clues in-game rather than treating the list as an official reference.
How do I investigate every room without losing the weekend?
Check the hour and occupant schedule first, enter when the occupant is away unless the story permits access, use detective mode, inspect every marked detail on relevant objects, and follow the journal’s named witness. Leave rooms that produce no new evidence.
Should I choose a completion route or a speed route?
Choose completion if you want personal mysteries, scheduled events, survival outcomes, and achievement cleanup. Choose speed if you want the central investigation with fewer optional searches; the trade-off is potentially missing guest-saving and ending conditions.
What should I do before the Blake Residence?
Solve as many personal mysteries as the schedule permits, especially investigations connected with saving O’Finn and Evelyn Deane. Check every guest’s timetable and make a save before the residence and ritual sequence.
Is the first dream optional?
No. The first-night dream introduces the sigil-drawing puzzles and is part of the supernatural progression. Draw one unbroken line through the required points and complete the final symbol when the monolith appears.
Can a code replace a missing journal hypothesis?
No. A code may open a room or container, but it does not supply an absent evidence node or conversation. If Think lacks the words you need, inspect marked object details and question the witness named by the journal.
The Bottom Line
Follow the journal, timetable, and evidence links in that order. Solve the forged departure letter first, inspect every marked detail, use the documented codes only after the spoiler warning, and finish personal mysteries before the Blake Residence if survival or the best ending matters. Save before the ritual so the manor’s separate sigil and character outcomes remain available to explore.
