Is it a good choice for induction?

CHOICE’s 2026 listing reports an 18cm magnetic area at the base, a 20cm base diameter and a 0.5cm base thickness. Nano-indentation measures resistance to a specified indentation under laboratory conditions. It does not reproduce every source of wear in a kitchen, such as repeated heating and cooling, abrasive cleaning, impact from stacking, or utensils dragged across the surface. The useful interpretation is that Tefal is reporting a hardness comparison, not promising a fixed service life.

Tefal’s 2026 edition product information says recycled materials make up a minimum of 77% of the total product, packaging is 90% recycled cardboard, and the product is a minimum of 82% recyclable, excluding handles and subject to appropriate sorting facilities. These are the manufacturer’s eco-design disclosures. The body’s 100% recycled-aluminium claim and the minimum share for the total product use different scopes, so they are not contradictory: the latter includes parts beyond the aluminium body.
“Recyclable” does not mean every council or recycling plant accepts the complete pan. The qualification about appropriate sorting facilities is important, as is the exclusion of handles from the stated minimum. If environmental impact is central to your decision, consider keeping the pan in use for as long as it performs well and check local end-of-life rules rather than relying on the label alone.

Tefal also cites Euromonitor International Limited’s Home and Garden 2026 edition, using 2025 data, for its “world #1 cookware brand” statement. That is a market-position claim, not evidence of this pan’s cooking performance or lifespan.
How does it compare with another Renew Black pan?
The same range includes the Tefal Renew Black 24cm Sautepan with Lid, model C4323223. It is a different form factor: the sautepan adds depth and a lid, while the C4320423 is the frying-pan option.
