Yes—if your priorities are exceptionally easy food release, even heating and a long warranty in a compact pan. The Swiss Diamond XD6424i is a 24 cm cast-aluminium frypan with a magnetic induction base, XD diamond-reinforced PTFE nonstick coating and a 260°C oven rating. TestHut found it stable and even on gas, electric and induction hobs, with excellent results for eggs, pancakes, bacon, rice and salmon.
Its limitations are equally clear: the 1.16 kg body and premium pricing make it less appealing as a budget everyday pan, while the 4.47 cm depth is shallow for stir-fries or large batches. It is best for one or two portions, fish, eggs, pancakes and quick sautés rather than high-volume cooking.

What is the Swiss Diamond XD6424i?
The XD6424i is the 24 cm (9.5 in) induction version of Swiss Diamond’s XD frypan range. It uses a cast-aluminium body for a rigid cooking surface and a magnetic base so it can work on induction as well as conventional hobs. CHOICE records Switzerland as the country of origin and measured the pan at about 1.2 kg; Swiss Diamond’s current specification lists 1.16 kg.
The interior uses Swiss Diamond’s XD diamond-reinforced, PTFE-based nonstick coating. Swiss Diamond states that the coating is PFOA-free and says this has been independently verified by the Danish Technological Institute. PTFE and PFOA are different substances: PTFE is the nonstick polymer, while PFOA is a processing chemical that the manufacturer says is not present in this coating.

This is an unlidded frypan. Its published capacity is 2.01 litres, but the relatively low side wall makes the usable cooking area more important than the headline capacity when you are tossing or stirring food.
Does the XD6424i work on induction?
Yes. The pan has a magnetic induction base and is specified for induction, gas, electric and ceramic cooktops. The published base diameter is 19.69 cm, smaller than the 24 cm rim, so check that your induction zone can couple effectively with that base rather than judging fit from the rim alone.

How nonstick is Swiss Diamond XD?
Release is the pan’s strongest selling point. In TestHut’s published testing on gas, electric and induction hobs, the coating received the highest grades in each test and released eggs, pancakes, bacon, rice and salmon particularly well. TestHut described the pan as “just about the perfect frying pan,” but that is one publisher’s result rather than a guarantee for every stove, recipe or cleaning routine.

The XD surface is designed for low- or no-fat cooking. To preserve it, Swiss Diamond says not to use aerosol nonstick sprays; propellants and residues can build up on PTFE surfaces. Use enough oil or butter for the recipe, but avoid treating the pan as a high-heat searing vessel.
Because this is PTFE-based rather than a ceramic coating, shoppers looking specifically for a PFAS-free surface should distinguish those claims. “PFOA-free” addresses PFOA; it does not mean the pan uses a ceramic coating or that it is marketed as PFAS-free. The manufacturer’s stated chemistry is XD diamond-reinforced PTFE.

How does it perform for everyday cooking?
The available independent performance evidence is positive across three heat sources. TestHut reported that the pan stayed stable and heated evenly on gas, electric and induction hobs, then gave it its highest grades in those tests. The foods specifically praised were eggs, pancakes, bacon, rice and salmon—recipes that benefit from an even surface and easy release.
That evidence points to a useful role: breakfast foods, delicate fish, reheating rice, small sautés and other jobs where scraping or excessive oil would be inconvenient. The cast body also gives the pan a substantial feel, which can help it stay planted while you move food with a spatula.

The same review identified the practical weakness: the pan is “a bit shallow for making stir-fries and other dishes that require a deeper pan.” At 4.47 cm deep, it has less vertical containment than a sauté pan or wok. Ingredients can spill when you toss them, and the low wall leaves less room for sauces or a family-size batch.
Is 24 cm the right size?
A 24 cm pan is generally suited to one or two portions. The diameter gives enough surface for two eggs, a couple of fish fillets, pancakes or a modest serving of vegetables without making the pan unnecessarily bulky.
Choose a larger or deeper pan if you regularly cook for several people, combine ingredients with a lot of stirring, or want to reduce a sauce without splashing. The XD6424i’s 2.01 litre stated capacity should not be interpreted as a recommendation to fill it to the rim; the shallow sides limit practical volume during active cooking.
Can it go in the oven and dishwasher?
Yes. Swiss Diamond rates both the pan and handle to 260°C/500°F, so the XD6424i can move from hob to oven within that limit. Allow the handle and body to cool before handling, and use appropriate oven protection because the handle will become hot.

The pan is dishwasher safe, but the manufacturer recommends hand washing with warm, soapy water to preserve the coating. Repeated detergent exposure and high-heat drying can shorten the useful life of nonstick surfaces even when a product is technically dishwasher safe.
How should you use and clean the XD6424i?
- Match the pan to the hob. Center the 19.69 cm magnetic base on an induction zone that suits its size, or use a stable burner or electric element.
- Heat progressively. Avoid extreme heat for an empty coated pan. Use the lowest setting that allows the recipe to cook properly.
- Use suitable fat. The surface supports low- or no-fat cooking, but do not apply aerosol nonstick sprays.
- Choose safe utensils. Use wood, silicone or nylon tools. They are less likely to damage the coating than metal implements.
- Wash gently. After cooking, clean with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh scouring powders.
- Use the dishwasher selectively. It is permitted, but hand washing is the conservative option when extending nonstick life matters more than convenience.
- Observe the oven limit. Keep the pan and handle at or below 260°C/500°F and confirm that any recipe’s broiler setting does not exceed that rating.
