How do you fill, boil and pour with the KE9550?

What safety protections does the KE9550 have?
The manufacturer’s guide identifies three automatic protections: shut-off after boiling, a boil-dry cut-out and an overheating shutdown. Boil-dry protection is intended to interrupt heating if the kettle is switched on without enough water. Overheating shutdown provides another layer if the appliance becomes excessively hot. How do you clean and descale the Sunbeam KE9550?
