IPX4 is limited protection. Sony describes the model as splash-proof and sweat-proof and says it is “not designed for full submersion.” Do not swim with it, shower with it, rinse it under a tap, or leave it wet in a gym bag. Wipe away sweat and let the earphones dry before charging.
