What room size is the FP-F30J-H designed for?
Sharp’s manual gives an approximate 21 m² recommendation under the JEM1467 test definition, while the Plasmacluster specification uses a separate test and gives approximately 16 m². These are not two performance ratings that can be averaged or treated as interchangeable.

The JEM1467 figure is based on dust removal over 30 minutes. It describes the test setup used for that result, not a guarantee that every 21 m² room will reach a particular particulate concentration in half an hour. Ceiling height, doors, leakage, furniture, outdoor pollution, and the location of the purifier all affect real-world cleaning.
Why the Plasmacluster figure is different
The approximately 16 m² Plasmacluster recommendation comes from an ion-concentration test. Because the measurement target and procedure differ from the dust-removal method, the smaller figure should not be interpreted as a revised HEPA capacity or as evidence that the filter suddenly performs worse.

That statement is a filter-efficiency claim under the manual’s conditions; it is not a promise that the room will instantly contain 99.97% fewer particles. Actual room reduction depends on airflow, leakage, pollutant generation, and whether the fan is running continuously.
The published filtration specification names a pre-filter and HEPA filter but does not identify an activated-carbon stage or provide a gas-removal rating. If your priority is solvent fumes, fuel vapors, or persistent odors rather than airborne particles, do not assume the FP-F30J-H offers the same treatment as a purifier with a documented sorbent filter.

These are rated figures, not a measured household electricity bill. Your actual cost depends on runtime, local electricity rates, and whether the unit cycles or remains on a fixed speed.
