It offers frost-free cooling, LED lighting, tempered-glass and easy-slide shelves, humidity-oriented produce storage and a twist ice maker, but no plumbed or external water dispenser. The model was tested in 2015 and is now discontinued, so a used example can make sense only if it is priced for its age and passes a careful cooling, leak and seal inspection. Its biggest strengths are capacity and a straightforward layout; its biggest risks are unavailable stock, uncertain future parts support and owner reports of water leaks around the light and crisper area.

For a used purchase, compare the same type of volume figure between models and look at the actual shelf and drawer layout, because two refrigerators with similar litre ratings can feel very different in daily use.

How big is the SR469MLS, and will it fit?
The cabinet is 1,785 mm tall, 700 mm wide and 726 mm deep. Those measurements describe the appliance itself. CHOICE’s recommended installation dimensions are approximately 189 cm high, 80 cm wide and 83 cm deep, which account for ventilation, door movement and practical clearance. Measure the opening, the path into the home and the final position instead of relying on a kitchen niche measurement.

Measure the route, not just the kitchen opening
- Measure the narrowest point at the front door, security door, hallway, lift and stair turn.
- Check ceiling height where the refrigerator must be tilted or stood upright.
- Account for packaging if the seller has not removed it, and for the space needed to rotate the cabinet through a doorway.
- Confirm that the right-hinged door can open far enough to remove shelves and drawers. Because the hinge is not reversible, a left-side wall or island can make the layout awkward.
- Leave the manufacturer’s required ventilation space and do not press the rear tightly against the wall. The exact clearance should be confirmed from the model manual supplied with the appliance.
The recommended width and depth are noticeably larger than the cabinet dimensions. Treat them as a planning envelope, not as extra refrigerator capacity. If the seller cannot provide the manual, ask for photographs of the rating plate and the installation instructions before committing.

How much energy does it use?
The published energy label is 3.5 stars with claimed consumption of 375 kWh per year. That is a label figure from the CHOICE 2015 test record, not a promise that every used unit will consume exactly that amount. Actual use changes with room temperature, door openings, food load, thermostat setting, door-seal condition, condenser cleanliness and the age and condition of the compressor system.
To estimate an operating cost, multiply 375 kWh by your electricity retailer’s per-kilowatt-hour rate. For example, at a tariff of 30 cents per kWh, the label-equivalent calculation would be 375 × $0.30, or $112.50 for a year. That is an illustration of the calculation, not a measured cost for a particular household; use the rate on your bill and remember that a deteriorated used appliance may consume more.
A 3.5-star label is useful for comparing this model with another refrigerator only when the comparison uses the same regional labeling system and similar capacity. Do not compare the 2015 figure directly with a newer label from a different standard without checking how the testing method changed.
What warranty applies to a used SR469MLS?
CHOICE lists a two-year warranty for the model. Retailer warranty notes also describe two years generally and mention an extended digital-inverter-parts warranty, but the cited retailer pages disagree on whether that extension is 10 or 12 years. That discrepancy means a used buyer should not assume that an extended parts term transfers to the second owner or applies to labour.
Ask the seller for the original invoice, warranty document, serial number and any service invoices. Confirm the terms with Samsung or the original seller for your country before treating a warranty as part of the refrigerator’s value. A parts-only extension is not the same as full repair coverage, and a discontinued model may have different service availability from a current model.

- Verify identity: Photograph the model and serial label and confirm that it reads SR469MLS. Compare the rating-plate information with the seller’s description.
- Check the installation position: Measure the cabinet and the available route. Confirm that the right-hand hinge and non-reversible door suit the room.
