How do I free up space on my Xbox?
The quickest route is to remove an installed game or app you no longer need immediately, beginning with a large item that will make a meaningful difference.
- In My games & apps > See all, highlight a finished game, an old trial, or an app you rarely open.
- Press the Menu button on the controller (the button with three lines).

Can I move a game to an external USB drive instead?
Yes, if you have a suitable external drive and the game is eligible to be moved. Moving preserves the installed files on another device, which can avoid downloading them again when you move them back. It does not make every game playable from that drive.
Move or copy an installation
- Connect the external drive to the Xbox and wait for the console to recognize it.
- Open My games & apps > See all.
