In Roco Kingdom, catch wild Jinies with Buddy Pods, train a small core instead of spreading resources across your whole collection, and build a six-Jini lineup with varied classes. For a first team, keep Dimo and your chosen starter, add useful wild catches as you meet them, and pay attention to Obedience, Energy, and the level-20 Advancement Exam gate. All three starters are viable, and the other two can turn up later.
This guide covers the global English build and the Quack Quack closed beta that began on 27 October 2026. Mechanics and balance can change during a test; some English class labels and tips come from community compilations rather than locked official documentation.

What should I do first in Roco Kingdom?
Start by getting your first Jini before picking fights. Choose a starter you like, keep Dimo in your trained group, and catch new wild Jinies as you explore. Captures help build your team and also feed the early progression economy: each wild Jini caught grants Starlight, which can be condensed into Wishing Stars at the Stardial, while Manabough reviews of captures award Roco Coins, with a bonus for a rare Jini.
- Choose one starter. Sparka, Meevy, and Cerulla fill different roles, but none is a required pick. The in-game tutorial says the unchosen starters may appear later in your adventure or near Owlstone Nests in other Rocos’ worlds.
- Keep Dimo and your starter in your core. Put early attention into one or two main Jinies rather than trying to level every creature in your box.
- Catch broadly, then build coverage. A new catch can bring a different class, a useful travel ability, or an individual trait worth keeping.
- Watch your supplies and progression gates. Energy does not refill automatically after a battle, and Jinies stop at level 20 until you pass the first Advancement Exam at Magic Level 20.
- Save three lineups. The game lets you keep six Jinies in your walking lineup; extra catches go to the Jini Box. Set up alternate groups for fights that punish your main team’s shared weakness.
The global test has a smaller confirmed roster than the full game’s advertised target: 212 unique Jinies in the test, according to the IGN Global Studios article presented by Morefun Studios on 27 October 2026, while Morefun’s Steam listing and official site advertise 400+ unique Jinies. Treat the larger figure as the stated full-roster target, not the number available in the beta.

How do I catch Jinies with Buddy Pods?
Find a wild Jini, select a Buddy Pod, aim, and throw. You can try an overworld throw to avoid starting a battle, or weaken the Jini in battle first; the exact global catch percentages for pod type, target Health, or Obedience gap have not been published.
Catch from the overworld
An Advanced Pod can be thrown at a wild Jini without entering combat, making it useful when you want to save time or avoid spending battle turns. The in-game tutorial says Outdoor Duels reward Advanced Pods. Capture tips recorded by RocoKingdomTools say a Jini is easier to catch if it has not spotted you, if you throw from a distance, and if you use a Buddy Pod suited to its class. A nearby Alpha can reduce the chance.

If you collide with a Jini, combat starts. Defeating it gives EXP instead of capturing it, so do not treat an accidental battle win as a failed catch attempt that can be reversed.
Weaken a Jini in battle
- Lower Health without knocking it out. The lower the target’s Health, the better the capture chance, according to the in-game capture tips recorded by community tools. Some fan beginner pages suggest roughly 20% Health or lower as a practical target, but that is a community heuristic, not an official percentage or guaranteed threshold.
- Use a Critical Capture opportunity. The tutorial tips say a Critical Capture automatically maxes out the Buddy Pod’s capture rate. Low Health or a Sneak Attack from behind can trigger one, according to the community guide’s interpretation of the in-game tips.
- Choose the right pod and throw. Basic Pods are battle-only; Advanced Pods can be used in battle or the overworld. Class-matched pods improve the odds, but no public global table gives exact rates.
- Use Merciful if you have it. This specialty prevents your final hit from knocking out the target, preserving a chance to capture it.
The in-game tutorial warns that a Jini above your current Obedience Level is harder to catch. Community tools report that a target more than 10 levels above your Obedience Level cannot be caught from the overworld and must be caught in battle. Raise your Roco through story progress, handbook activities, and exams before making high-level wilds your target.
Use the environment to set up a catch
Pocket Gamer’s 27 October 2026 preview describes using a star-themed wand to stun a wild Jini and leave it Dizzy, causing it to miss its first turn. Sneaking behind a target can also help if your plan is to start combat and weaken it. These are different approaches: an overworld Buddy Pod can bypass the fight, while a stun or Sneak Attack gives you an opening to act in battle.
Which Buddy Pods should I use or save?
Use ordinary and class-matched pods for routine catches; reserve rare pods for a Jini you particularly want. The official Gameplay Overview from Morefun Studios describes Buddy Pods and class matching, while the more detailed role notes below include community-tool information that may shift as the beta changes.

Morefun’s official Gameplay Overview says, “Any genie captured with one becomes a prismatic variant,” referring to the Prism Pod. That appearance is distinct from Chromatic colours, Nightmare-corrupted appearances, or Alpha Form, which is a power form rather than a palette. Do not assume that every unusual appearance is the same rarity tier or obtained the same way.
Community videos sometimes describe orange or shiny-looking pods as a way to guarantee excellent stats, but the official materials in this guide do not establish that rule. Check the current in-game tooltip before spending a rare item based on a video claim.
Which starter should I pick: Sparka, Meevy, or Cerulla?
Pick based on the role and feel you want rather than worrying about a permanently missable choice. The global English names and final-form snapshots below come from the RocoKingdomTools beginner page updated 26 October 2026; individual stats and beta balance may change.

On those published final-form snapshots, Cerulla has the highest total, Meevy the highest Magic Defense, and Sparka the highest Speed. Those comparisons are not a promise that one starter is best in every fight; class matchups and skill coverage still matter. In the global tutorial, the other starters may later be found in the adventure or at Owlstone Nests in other players’ worlds.

Those names and some item terminology belong to a different build; use the global English names when following the beta’s menus.
How do I build a balanced team?
Build for coverage, not six copies of the starter’s class. Morefun advertises an 18-class counter ecosystem and says PvP levels are equalized, so understanding matchups and skill traits matters more than simply stacking levels for duels.

Use a role-and-coverage framework
- One primary attacker: your starter or a wild Jini with moves and traits you can use reliably.
- One sturdier option: a Jini that can absorb hits when your attacker faces a bad matchup.
- Different classes and move coverage: keep alternatives for the types that wall your lead.
- One travel utility Jini when available: some Jinies let you swim, ride, or glide, and specific elements can open chests or other exploration rewards.
- Optional support: healing, buffs, or debuffs can help if your lineup has room for a specialist.
Dimo is a sensible early core member, not a complete team by himself. Morefun identifies him as a Light-class companion; the community chart says Light attacks Shadow and Havoc effectively but is weak to Flora and Ice. Dimo’s listed size is 0.54–0.78 m and weight 5.5–7 kg, with Light class, according to the official site. Treat him as useful coverage alongside your starter, then catch other classes to avoid relying on a single matchup.
How do the 18 classes and weaknesses work?
A fan-compiled type chart dated 28 October 2026 describes a skill dealing 2× damage to a class it beats and 0.5× to one that resists it; a double advantage against a dual-class target can reach 3×. These figures are not an official full chart, and the maintainer notes that several English labels remain community names pending confirmation.

The fan chart also describes two advantages on a dual-class Jini as 3×, two resistances as 0.25×, and one advantage paired with one resistance as a neutral 1×. The chart summary above is deliberately partial: it gives useful early matchups, not all attack and resistance relationships across all 18 classes. Check the current in-game class information rather than assuming the community English labels or every chart entry are final.
Switching Jinies costs a turn, according to the in-game tutorial. Decide on a lead before the fight and keep alternate lineups ready; swapping in the middle of a dangerous turn can give the opponent a free action.
How should I train Jinies without wasting resources?
Train one or two mains first—usually Dimo and your starter—then widen the team as story encounters demand it. Community beginner guides warn that spreading EXP and coins over the entire box makes the core too weak; story PvE does not require perfect individual stats or personalities.
Respect the exam gate, Energy, and Obedience
- Level cap: RocoKingdomTools’ beginner guide reports a level-20 cap until the first Advancement Exam at Magic Level 20. If a Jini stops gaining levels there, progress the exam rather than grinding endlessly.
- Energy: the in-game tutorial says Energy does not recover automatically after battle. Rest during battle when possible or use a Healing Potion; avoid spending skills without a plan.
- Obedience: catching above your current Obedience Level reduces the chance of success, and community tools say a target more than 10 levels over it can only be caught in battle. Raise your own progression before stocking up on creatures you may not be able to catch easily.
- Party size: six Jinies travel in the walking lineup; further captures go to the Jini Box, according to the tutorial guide. Keep three lineups so a bad class matchup does not force you to rebuild before every challenge.
Manaboughs are useful reset points: Pocket Gamer reports that they restore HP and Vitality and let time pass, which can matter for day- and night-dependent spawns. Claim dailies, use EXP potions when progression stalls, and rest at a Manabough rather than hoarding recovery items while your party is depleted.

What growth paths can wait?
The starter lines listed in the global beginner guide reach their first evolution at level 16. Meevy’s line is listed as reaching its next form at level 32, while Cerulla and Sparka’s lines reach theirs at level 36. Those are the cited line-specific milestones; Chinese-server guides generalize different evolution rules and describe stone, location, or time exceptions, so do not use those as global instructions without checking the beta menus.
Alpha Form is a separate progression path. IGN’s presented article says it involves obtaining Alpha Bloodline by hatching eggs from Alpha Battles or using an Alpha Bloodline Elixir, then spending the matching Alpha Token and Evolution Power. Community beginner pages also describe Bloodline as relevant to some evolutions, elemental moves, and Power Surge, while Mega is a power spike and Power Surge a specialist ability. These are later systems to verify in the current menus, not reasons to spend rare items in your opening hours.
Individuality is part of the collection loop. IGN’s presented coverage says Jinies can vary in talents, personality, height, weight, colour, and specialties. A personality can affect physical or magic attack; official video examples describe a skittish versus brave Jini and bonuses to speed, physical attack, or magic attack. Specialties can be practical too: Shared Ride lets two Rocos ride one Jini, while Sharer grants bonus drops. Catching duplicates can therefore be worthwhile, but compare their actual traits before investing heavily.

The first global closed beta, called the Quack Quack Test, began on 27 October 2026. As of 30 October 2026, Steam lists the game as Coming soon and says it is not yet available there; Steam is a wishlist path, not the current beta download route.

For PC, Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, and 16 GB RAM as minimum requirements. Its recommended specification is Windows 10 or later, an Intel Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 3600X or better, and 16 GB RAM. Steam also lists Easy Anti-Cheat as required on PC. International accounts use Level Infinite PASS, which Steam says supports linking to a Steam account.
The global test and Chinese server are not interchangeable. Use the English global terms “Jini” and “Buddy Pod”; Chinese-server veterans may say “spirit,” use different item names, or list more creatures. CN videos can offer broad strategic ideas, but their menus, starter names, item economy, and seasonal catch claims should not be treated as global beta rules.

What should I avoid in my first hours?
- Do not spread every resource across the box. Focus the story-ready core on Dimo, your starter, and a few useful coverage picks.
- Do not ignore Obedience. A high-level wild Jini can be harder to catch, and targets more than 10 levels above your Obedience are reported to require a battle catch.
- Do not spend rare pods on routine targets. Keep Prism Pods for a desired Prismatic capture and King’s Pods for an exceptional target.
- Do not build six of one class. A resist wall can stall a team that has no alternate damage or defensive option.
- Do not hoard all recovery items. Energy does not refill automatically after fights; manage it through rests, items, and skill choices.
- Do not copy CN shiny-rate claims as global facts. A community page’s 1.8% rate is flagged unverified, and its 80-encounter pity is described as CN Season 3 community testing, not an official global rule.
- Do not assume beta access or carryover. Check the official site and Level Infinite inbox for access rather than assuming a Steam download or a guaranteed launch transfer.
When a Jini gets stuck or you clip into the environment, RocoKingdomTools lists an Unstuck option in Compass settings. The developer’s ROCO 101 Episode 1, posted by the official English account on 28 October 2026, is also aimed at starter selection, battle basics, and capture mistakes.
How does the game’s monetization affect beginners?
Steam marks Roco Kingdom as having in-app purchases. In Pocket Gamer’s 27 October 2026 report, developer representatives said microtransactions would be cosmetic-only and that Jinies could be obtained and traded through gameplay; Steam’s listing also uses the phrase “Zero paywalls.” Those are developer and store claims during the beta period, not an independent audit of a live cash shop.
Morefun’s stated PvP design is “strategy over stats”: Steam says levels are equalized in fair turn-based PvP, with class matchups and skill traits central to the result. That means early spending or grinding for raw levels is not the only route to competitive play, though the current test’s balance and economy can change.

Will my Quack Quack Test progress carry over to launch?
A carryover policy for beta Jinies, progress, or purchases has not been confirmed in the cited global information. Treat beta progress as temporary unless Morefun announces a transfer policy.
Can I link my Roco Kingdom account to Steam?
Steam says international accounts run through Level Infinite PASS and that PASS supports linking to a Steam account. That account link does not itself mean the Steam game client is downloadable during the closed beta.
Can I play Roco Kingdom offline?
Offline play availability is not established in the available platform descriptions. The game is presented as an open-world experience with co-op features, but that alone does not confirm whether any portion works without an internet connection.
