Rocket.new is a prompt-driven app builder that can generate web projects with React or Next.js and mobile projects with Flutter. It can also start from a Figma design, an existing Next.js codebase, a live website URL or a template, then connect outside services and deploy. That makes it a plausible way to move from an idea to a working prototype or internal tool quickly.
Its limits matter just as much: prices and credit allowances are usage-based, connector availability depends on the task, mobile-store publishing still requires conventional platform submissions, and the vendor’s feature, privacy and adoption statements have not been independently verified here. Treat Rocket.new as an acceleration layer, not proof that generated code is production-ready without engineering review.

Rocket.new’s product page says 1.5 million people across 180 countries have tried the service. That is a vendor-reported adoption figure, not an independently audited user count, so it should be read as marketing context rather than evidence of reliability.
What is Rocket.new and how does it work?
Rocket.new is an AI-assisted development environment built around natural-language instructions. You describe the application you want, and the service generates project code, helps connect external services and provides a route to deployment. The vendor positions the workflow for SaaS products, dashboards, customer portals, e-commerce storefronts, internal tools and landing pages.

The starting point does not have to be a blank prompt. Rocket.new documents four additional inputs:
- A Figma file that provides a visual starting point.
- An existing Next.js codebase that can be extended.
- A live website URL that can be used as a reference.
- A template selected from the service’s available starting points.
Those options reduce the amount of specification you must write, but they do not remove the need to describe business rules, data models, permissions, validation and error handling. A visual reference can communicate layout; it cannot by itself define how payments, account recovery or access control should behave.

The documented process is prompt-led, followed by configuration and deployment work. A practical sequence looks like this:
- Define the first release. State the users, screens, core actions, data that must persist and the services the app needs. A narrow first prompt is easier to correct than a request for an entire enterprise system.
- Choose a starting input. Begin with a written description, import a Figma file, provide an existing Next.js project, reference a live URL or select a template.
- Generate the project. Rocket.new creates the initial code and interface. The output technology depends on the target: the product page identifies React and Next.js for web output and Flutter for mobile output.
- Add integrations. Connect the services required for authentication, payments, messaging, analytics or data. The connector documentation says setup can use an API key or OAuth, depending on the service.
- Iterate with explicit changes. Ask for one coherent change at a time, such as adding a role, changing a form validation rule or introducing a report filter. Check the resulting files and build logs after each significant change.
- Review the generated code. Use the code editor to browse files and make direct edits. Resolve build errors before treating a feature as complete.
- Export or publish. Rocket.new documents ZIP download and GitHub push options. Web deployment follows the service’s deployment flow; mobile publication requires downloading Flutter code and completing the relevant Apple or Google submission process yourself.
AI generation is most useful when the prompt contains acceptance criteria. For example, “An administrator can invite a member, revoke access and see an audit entry for each action” gives a clearer target than “add team management.” The generated implementation still needs a human check for authorization, data exposure and edge cases.
What types of apps can you build with Rocket.new?
Rocket.new’s documented use cases cover common business applications rather than a single niche. The strongest fit is a project where standard screens, forms, dashboards and service connections make up most of the first version.
Web products and SaaS
React and Next.js output can support browser-based products such as customer portals, subscription interfaces and multi-page SaaS prototypes. Rocket.new’s documentation does not, by itself, establish scalability, uptime, security hardening or maintainability for a production SaaS. Those qualities depend on the generated architecture, your infrastructure and subsequent engineering work.
Dashboards and internal tools
Dashboards, approval queues, inventory views and reporting tools are natural prompt-to-interface candidates. Internal tools can tolerate a narrower browser target and a smaller user base, but they still need correct permissions and protection for company data.
Landing pages and storefront concepts
A marketing page or storefront prototype can benefit from starting with a template or visual reference. If the project handles real customer payments or personal information, review the payment flow, webhook handling and data retention separately; a generated screen is not evidence that those controls are correctly implemented.

Existing projects
Starting from a Next.js codebase may help teams experiment without discarding their current structure. Before importing a repository, identify the files and environment variables that must remain authoritative, then inspect every generated change for dependency, routing and configuration conflicts.
Can you build mobile apps with Rocket.new?
Yes. Rocket.new identifies Flutter as its mobile output technology. The important qualification is that generation and store release are separate stages.
The vendor FAQ says code download and several advanced capabilities are web-only. For App Store or Google Play publication, it says you download the Flutter code and complete submission through the respective platform workflows. That means you still need platform accounts, signing credentials, store metadata, privacy disclosures, build configuration and compliance checks outside the prompt interface.
Use Rocket.new for a mobile prototype when you want to explore screens, navigation and a cross-platform codebase. Plan additional engineering time for device-specific behavior, permissions, push notifications, offline states, accessibility, crash reporting and store review requirements. Nothing in the documented feature list independently verifies that those concerns are handled automatically.
What integrations and connectors does Rocket.new support?
Rocket.new lists connectors for widely used data, payment, AI, analytics, communication and scheduling services. The documented list includes Supabase, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Analytics, GitHub, Notion, Airtable, Mailchimp, Resend, Twilio, SendGrid, HubSpot, Mixpanel, Figma, Cal.com and Calendly.
Connector setup can use API keys or OAuth. The connector documentation distinguishes between task-level and workspace-level connections. A task-level connection is available for a particular generation or task, while a workspace-level connection can be reused more broadly. The documentation also warns that some connectors work only for particular task types.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Before selecting a plan, map each required action to a supported connector and its permitted task type:
- Identify whether the integration is available for the operation you need, not merely present in the connector directory.
- Confirm whether the connection must be re-authorized per task or can be shared at workspace level.
- Use the least-privileged API scope available and keep secrets out of source files.
- Plan a fallback path if a connector cannot perform a write, webhook or background operation your app requires.
A connector name is not a guarantee of complete feature parity with that service’s native SDK. Verify authentication, read and write coverage, webhooks, rate limits and error behavior before committing a production workflow.

How much does Rocket.new cost?
The documented plans use monthly credits. The following prices and allocations are the terms listed for this review and were checked in October 2026; pricing, included features and credit rules can change.
| Plan | Monthly price | Monthly credits | Documented notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | USD 0 | 20 | Free-plan projects are public by default under the vendor FAQ. |
| Pro | USD 25 per month | 100 | Paid-plan projects are not used for AI training according to the vendor FAQ. |
| Rocket | USD 50 per month | 250 | Includes competitive intelligence. |
| Booster | USD 250 per month | 1,500 | Includes competitive intelligence. |
The pricing documentation says annual billing is 20% cheaper and that unused credits do not expire under the listed plan details. Confirm those terms in the account billing screen before subscribing, especially if your usage is irregular.

Competitive intelligence has a separate credit implication. Each tracked competitor consumes 500 credits per month, prorated for the remainder of a billing cycle. Because the Rocket and Booster plans include competitive intelligence, a single tracked competitor can represent a substantial share of the monthly allowance on those tiers. Include that recurring deduction when estimating how many generation tasks remain.
Credits make plan selection less straightforward than comparing a flat feature checklist. A short prototype may fit the Free or Pro allowance, while repeated revisions, large imports and connector-heavy work can consume credits faster. Keep a record of which tasks trigger usage and reserve credits for the changes that affect the release.
Who owns the code Rocket.new generates?
Rocket.new documents practical control over the project: you can browse files, edit them directly, inspect build logs, download a ZIP and push the project to GitHub. Those controls improve portability because a team can move the files into its own repository and development process.
Access to files is not the same as a guarantee about code quality. The documentation does not establish that generated code is secure, maintainable, dependency-stable or suitable for production without review. Before accepting ownership or handoff, inspect licenses, third-party packages, environment-variable handling, authentication, authorization, database migrations and error logging.
Recommended Free Tools
For a team, establish a repository workflow early:
- Push a clean baseline to GitHub before making major AI-generated changes.
- Review diffs rather than replacing the entire project after every prompt.
- Record required environment variables and external accounts outside the generated source.
- Run your own code review, automated checks and security assessment before release.
Are Rocket.new projects private?
According to the vendor FAQ, Free-plan apps are public by default, may appear in Rocket.new’s showcase and may be used to improve Rocket’s AI. The same FAQ says paid-plan apps are not used for AI training whether they are public or private.
Those statements are vendor terms, not an independent privacy audit. Do not place confidential customer records, proprietary algorithms, regulated data or secrets in a Free-plan project. Review the current privacy policy, workspace settings and contractual terms before importing sensitive material, because visibility and data-use controls can change.

Even on a paid plan, remove API keys from prompts and source files, restrict connector scopes, rotate credentials after sharing a project and separate demonstration data from live records. Treat generated logs and downloaded archives as potentially sensitive artifacts.
What are Rocket.new’s web-only limitations?
The FAQ says code download and several other advanced capabilities are available only on the web. This matters if you expect a fully native workflow on a phone or tablet, or if your team plans to manage every stage from a mobile device.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWeb-only access also affects the handoff between generation and release. For mobile apps, you must download Flutter code, configure the native build and submit through Apple’s or Google’s process. For web apps, confirm where deployment occurs, how domains and environment variables are managed and how you would roll back a faulty generated change.
Is Rocket.new ready for production apps?
Rocket.new can shorten the path to a prototype, but the available documentation does not prove production readiness. There are no independently verified performance, reliability or security results in the supplied material, and no hands-on evaluation should be inferred from the vendor’s feature descriptions.
Use a release gate before exposing real users or data:
- Security: test authentication, authorization, session handling, secrets, injection resistance and dependency vulnerabilities.
- Data: verify schema constraints, migrations, backups, deletion behavior and tenant isolation.
- Reliability: exercise timeouts, retries, rate limits, queue failures and third-party outages.
- Accessibility: check keyboard navigation, focus order, labels, contrast and screen-reader output.
- Operations: set up monitoring, logs, alerts, rollback procedures and ownership for incidents.
- Legal and store compliance: review privacy disclosures, consent, payment obligations and mobile-store policies.
The platform is easier to justify when it accelerates a bounded first release and your team retains engineering control. It is a riskier choice when the project requires novel algorithms, strict compliance, complex offline behavior or guarantees that have not been validated.

Good candidates
- Founders validating a narrow product idea before investing in a full engineering build.
- Operations teams creating internal dashboards or approval tools with standard workflows.
- Designers who want to turn a Figma concept into an interactive web or mobile starting point.
- Developers who want AI assistance while retaining file-level edits and GitHub access.
Less suitable candidates
- Teams that require a private-by-default free tier for sensitive work.
- Projects whose essential service has no compatible connector or task type.
- Organizations unable to perform code, security, accessibility and compliance review.
- Apps that need guaranteed native mobile behavior without completing platform-specific work.
How should you evaluate Rocket.new for a specific project?
Start with the project rather than the plan name. Compare the output target, required integrations, expected iteration volume and handoff requirements.
- Write the target: browser app, Flutter mobile app or both.
- List non-negotiable services: database, payments, identity, analytics, messaging and scheduling.
- Check connector constraints: verify task-level or workspace-level setup and the exact operations supported.
- Estimate iteration: include revisions, imports, debugging and any 500-credit monthly competitor tracking you plan to enable.
- Set a privacy boundary: decide whether public Free-plan behavior is acceptable and remove sensitive data from prompts.
- Plan the exit: confirm that ZIP download, GitHub push and your team’s own deployment pipeline are sufficient if you later leave the service.
- Define acceptance tests: specify security, data, accessibility and reliability checks before calling the generated app production-ready.
This framework prevents a polished demo from hiding a missing connector, an unsuitable privacy setting or an unrealistic credit budget.

How we picked the review criteria
The criteria follow the decisions a buyer must make: supported web and mobile targets, credit pricing and recurring usage, connector scope and task restrictions, code inspection and export, deployment and app-store steps, and project visibility or AI-training terms. Rocket.new’s documented capabilities are separated from claims that would require independent testing or a security assessment.
Frequently asked questions
Is Rocket.new free to use?
Yes. The documented Free plan costs USD 0 and includes 20 monthly credits. Its trade-off is visibility and data use: the vendor FAQ says Free-plan apps are public by default, may appear in the showcase and may be used to improve the AI.
Do Rocket.new credits roll over?
The listed plan documentation says unused credits do not expire. Because billing terms and allowances can change, check the current plan page and your account’s credit ledger before relying on a long-term balance.
Can I begin with a Figma design instead of a prompt?
Yes. Rocket.new’s product description lists Figma as an input option alongside templates, a live website URL and an existing Next.js codebase. You still need to specify behavior, data and permissions that a visual design does not express.
Does Rocket.new publish apps directly to the App Store?
The vendor FAQ says mobile publication requires downloading Flutter code and completing Apple’s or Google’s submission workflow. Store accounts, signing, metadata, policy declarations and review remain part of that external process.
Can I move a Rocket.new project to GitHub?
Yes. The code-editor documentation describes pushing a project to GitHub as well as downloading it as a ZIP. Treat the export as a handoff point and review dependencies, secrets, licenses and generated logic before deploying it elsewhere.
