Start with the company’s official Investor Relations website. Open its Quarterly Results, Financials, or Events & Presentations archive, select the correct fiscal quarter, and download the earnings release and any presentation link shown there. If the company files with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), use EDGAR Company Search as a free cross-check or fallback: locate the quarter’s 10-Q and earnings-related 8-K, then open the filing document or exhibit. The release, 10-Q, 8-K and slide deck are different documents, and a presentation is not guaranteed to exist as a PDF.

Where can I download a company’s quarterly results?

The issuer’s Investor Relations site is normally the quickest way to find the complete event package. Companies often group an earnings release, presentation, webcast, financial tables and links to regulatory filings on one dated results page, but menu names and available files differ.

  1. Confirm the official company. Use the company’s own domain and its Investor Relations or Investors section, not an aggregator or a similarly named business. If a search result seems ambiguous, compare the issuer name on the page with the company you intend to research.
  2. Open the results archive. Look for labels such as Quarterly Results, Financial Results, Financials, Events & Presentations or Earnings Releases. Some sites divide releases and presentations into separate archives, so check both if the first page only has one file type.
  3. Choose the fiscal period. Check the stated quarter-end date. Fiscal Q1 is not necessarily January through March, and a company can publish results weeks after the period closes. Use the issuer’s fiscal-year and quarter labels rather than assigning a quarter by calendar month alone.
  4. Open each relevant document. An Earnings Release or Press Release gives the announcement; a Presentation or Slides link leads to the deck; a 10-Q or SEC Filings link leads to the formal quarterly filing where one is available.
  5. Save the supplied file. Use the page’s download control or your browser’s save command. A webcast link is a recording or live event, not automatically a slide PDF. Keep the source page or link with your saved copy so you can return to the original.

For a concrete example of how an issuer archive can bundle materials, Mastercard’s dated notice for third-quarter 2026 results directs readers to its results and related materials at the company’s Investor Relations announcement. Its directly linked presentation is identified as a third-quarter 2026 financial-results deck dated October 29, 2026, rather than an undated “latest” file: open the PDF. This is an example of a company-hosted deck, not a promise that every issuer offers a separate presentation.

Issuer sites vary in how they label downloads. A page may provide a release as a press-release webpage, a linked PDF, or an attachment, while the slides may be listed under the call date instead of the results date. Follow the event-specific links and check the title and period inside each file before deciding it is the document you need.

What is the difference between an earnings release, an 8-K, a 10-Q and a presentation?

They answer different questions. Treating them as interchangeable is a common reason readers download the wrong document.

Document What it is for What to expect
Earnings release Announces the quarter’s headline results Management commentary, selected financial figures, guidance or non-GAAP measures, and often a call date. It may be filed as an exhibit to an 8-K.
Form 10-Q Formal interim SEC report for a domestic reporting issuer Unaudited quarterly financial statements, management’s discussion and analysis, notes, risk disclosures and other required information, as described by the SEC.
Form 8-K Current report for a specified event An earnings announcement commonly appears under Item 2.02, with related exhibits often listed under Item 9.01. It is not a substitute for the full 10-Q.
Investor presentation Company-produced slides for an earnings call or investor event Charts, operating metrics, strategy themes and selected financial information. It is separate from the required filing and may not be supplied at all.

The SEC’s investor guide explains that EDGAR search results are shown chronologically and identified by form type in the first column: Using EDGAR to Research Investments. The SEC also notes that an earnings disclosure in an 8-K commonly summarizes information that appears later in a 10-Q or 10-K; read the 8-K as an event filing, not as proof that the periodic report is already posted.

The practical distinction is timing and scope. The release is designed to announce results, and the 8-K records a specified event and can include the release as an exhibit. The 10-Q is the more comprehensive interim report. A deck is a presentation prepared by the company, not a filing category that every issuer must publish. If you need the full filed report, do not stop at a release or slide deck just because they contain financial figures.

How do I find the investor presentation PDF on the company site?

Search the event archive, not only the press-release page. Presentations are often attached to a particular earnings-call entry and can be labeled Earnings Presentation, Investor Deck, Slides or simply Presentation.

  1. Open Events & Presentations or the earnings-call calendar.
  2. Select the same fiscal quarter and verify the event date against the quarter-end date.
  3. Look for a file link beside the call details. A PDF icon or a link ending in .pdf is a strong indication that the deck is downloadable.
  4. Open the file and check its cover page for the company name, fiscal quarter and presentation date.
  5. Save it with a descriptive filename such as Company_FY2026_Q3_Earnings-Presentation.pdf.

Do not infer that a deck exists because an earnings call occurred. Some issuers provide only a release and webcast; others publish slides in HTML, a filing exhibit or a format other than PDF. If no presentation link appears in the relevant event entry, report that the deck was not located rather than assuming the company failed to publish a required document.

If you have found the event but not the slides, check the archive entry for attachments or supplemental-material links and then inspect the corresponding 8-K’s exhibit list, if the issuer files with the SEC. A search result that points to a single exhibit may not display the other documents filed with it; use the parent filing-details page to inspect the full document list. The issuer’s event page remains important because EDGAR includes filed documents and exhibits, not every company-hosted presentation.

How do I use EDGAR to find quarterly results?

EDGAR is a free fallback for companies that report to the SEC. It is especially useful when an Investor Relations page is unavailable, its archive is incomplete, or you need the filed version of a release or exhibit.

  1. Open the SEC’s EDGAR Company Search.
  2. Enter the company name, stock ticker or Central Index Key (CIK).
  3. Confirm the issuer identity before opening a filing. Similar names and subsidiaries can appear in results.
  4. Use the form-type and date information to identify the correct period. For a domestic interim quarter, look for 10-Q; for the earnings announcement, look for an 8-K, commonly with Item 2.02.
  5. Open the filing’s details page and inspect the document list. Select the main filing document for the report, or an exhibit link for an attached release or presentation.
  6. Check the reporting period, filing date and amendment status. A form ending in /A is an amended filing, not a different quarter.
  7. Save the document in the format supplied by EDGAR. Many filings are browser-formatted HTML; do not call one a PDF unless a PDF file is actually offered.

EDGAR presents search results in chronological order and identifies filings by form type, according to the SEC’s Using EDGAR to Research Investments guide dated September 4, 2018. The order and form labels can help narrow the list, but verify the period and issuer on the filing itself instead of relying on a result’s position alone.

If a search result takes you directly to an exhibit, return to the parent filing-details page. That page supplies the surrounding documents and the issuer’s filing context. Apple, for example, states that its SEC Filings page lets visitors view or download filings; company-specific filing pages may offer a convenient route, while EDGAR remains the SEC’s search route. The SEC’s guidance is available at sec.gov/oiea/Article/edgarguide.html.

When choosing between the main filing and an exhibit, match the file to the task: the 10-Q document is the interim report; an 8-K is the event report; an exhibit can be the attached release or other supplemental material. Preserve the filing date and form type in your notes or filename, especially if you are comparing an original submission with an amended one.

Where are presentation slides in EDGAR?

Start with the 8-K’s exhibit index, but treat a slide deck as optional. An issuer may attach an earnings release, financial tables or presentation under Item 9.01, and the exhibit list will identify the available files. The SEC does not require every issuer to attach an earnings presentation.

  1. Open the relevant 8-K filing-details page.
  2. Read the item headings and open Item 2.02 for the earnings announcement.
  3. Inspect Item 9.01 and the exhibit index for linked files.
  4. Open each exhibit whose description suggests slides, an investor presentation or supplemental materials.
  5. Verify the quarter and date inside the file; an exhibit can belong to a different event in the same filing.

If the exhibit index contains no deck, check the issuer’s Events & Presentations archive. EDGAR is a record of what was filed, not a directory of every company-hosted presentation. Do not assume the first document listed is the only relevant one: review the exhibit descriptions and open the candidate file before saving it as a presentation.

Is the earnings release the same as the 10-Q?

No. The release is a fast announcement; the 10-Q is the more comprehensive interim report for a domestic SEC-reporting issuer. A release may be attached to an 8-K before the 10-Q is filed, and it may emphasize adjusted or selected measures that require context in the full filing.

  • Use the release for the headline revenue, earnings, management comments and call logistics.
  • Use the 10-Q for the statement of operations, balance sheet, cash flows, footnotes, segment detail and management’s discussion.
  • Use the 8-K to establish when the announcement was furnished and to inspect its exhibits.
  • Use the presentation for visual explanations and operating metrics, while checking definitions and reconciliations in the release or filing.

The SEC’s guide to EDGAR and its explanation of Form 8-K provide the filing context: EDGAR guide and read an 8-K.

These documents can cover the same quarter without being duplicates. For instance, the release might contain selected results and commentary, while the filing adds notes and management discussion. A deck may restate selected information in chart form. When figures or labels appear different, check that the period, units and measure are alike, and look for the company’s definitions or reconciliations before drawing a conclusion.

Why can’t I find a Q4 10-Q?

For a domestic issuer, the fourth quarter is generally covered by the annual Form 10-K rather than a separate Q4 10-Q. Look for the Q4 earnings release or 8-K, then use the 10-K for the audited annual statements and full-year disclosures.

Do not apply that convention to every company worldwide. A SEC-reporting foreign private issuer may use 6-K for current communications and 20-F for annual reporting. If the company does not report to the SEC, begin with its own Investor Relations site and the regulator or exchange identified by that company; there is no universal non-U.S. replacement form established by this guide.

For a Q4 comparison, check whether the company’s release presents fourth-quarter figures alongside full-year figures, then confirm the annual filing by its reporting period. Do not search indefinitely for a domestic issuer’s Q4 10-Q as though it were a standard separate form. The relevant annual report is the 10-K; the event announcement may still be a release or 8-K.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What if the quarterly results or presentation is missing?

A missing file usually reflects timing, format or publication practice—not proof that no results exist. Work through these checks in order.

  • Release is present, 10-Q is absent: Search EDGAR again by reporting period and revisit the 10-Q listing later. A newly announced quarter can precede the full periodic filing.
  • 10-Q is present, slides are absent: Recheck the issuer’s event-specific page and the 8-K exhibit index. A presentation may never have been published.
  • Search result opens only one exhibit: Use the parent filing-details page to see the main filing and all exhibits.
  • Numbers do not match: Confirm quarter-end dates, fiscal-year labels, units and whether one document is an amended /A filing.
  • Only a webcast is listed: Save the webcast separately if needed, but do not label it a presentation PDF.
  • The company is a foreign private issuer: Search its Investor Relations archive and EDGAR for 6-K communications or other forms applicable to that issuer.

If the release is recent, try the earnings-related 8-K first for the announcement and any exhibits, then return to the periodic-report listing to look for the 10-Q or, for annual results, the 10-K. The SEC explains that an 8-K earnings disclosure commonly summarizes statements that appear later in a periodic report, so the two documents may become available at different times.

If no slide link turns up after checking the event page and the exhibit list, state that the presentation was not located. A company may publish a webcast without slides, publish the slides in a non-PDF format, or not issue a separate deck. If you encounter an amended filing, compare the filing date and period rather than treating the “/A” suffix as another quarter.

Should I use the issuer site or EDGAR?

Use the issuer site first when you want the whole earnings event in one place; use EDGAR when you need the filed record or a dependable cross-check. Both are primary-source routes, but they optimize for different tasks.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Need Issuer Investor Relations site SEC EDGAR
Release, slides and webcast together Often available on one dated event page Only filed documents and attached exhibits
Download experience May offer direct PDFs or other company-hosted files Frequently browser-formatted HTML plus exhibit files
Quarter identification Usually organized by fiscal year and event Requires checking form type, period, filing date and amendments
Coverage Works for any company that publishes an Investor Relations archive Applies to SEC-reporting issuers and their filed documents

For the most reliable record, use both when practical: obtain the deck and event materials from the issuer, then verify the release and periodic filing in EDGAR. Neither route requires buying access from a third-party data service to retrieve the original issuer documents. EDGAR is useful only for companies that report to the SEC; for other companies, start at the issuer’s own site.

The choice depends on the item you need. For a presentation or webcast, the issuer’s event archive is the more natural starting point. For the formal filed report, use the SEC’s company search and check the form type and period. If a company’s own filings page links to EDGAR, follow that official route but still confirm that the opened document matches your quarter.

How do I verify that I downloaded the right file?

Before filing the document, perform a quick identity check. This prevents a correctly downloaded document from being misclassified.

  • Company legal name or logo matches the intended issuer.
  • Fiscal quarter and quarter-end date match your target period.
  • Presentation or release date is plausible for that quarter.
  • EDGAR filing type is the one you intended: 10-Q, 8-K, 10-K, 6-K or another stated form.
  • The file is complete and opens after saving; check page count or the final page when using a PDF.
  • Any “adjusted,” “non-GAAP” or pro forma figure is accompanied by the issuer’s reconciliation or definition.

Keep the original filename or add the filing date to your renamed copy. That makes later reconciliation easier when an amended filing appears. For HTML filings, keep the SEC filing link and form type rather than naming a browser-saved copy as though it were a company-issued PDF. For PDFs, a useful filename can include issuer, fiscal year, quarter and document type, while retaining the source link separately.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How we chose these routes

The workflow prioritizes official issuer archives for the event bundle, then SEC EDGAR for filed documents and exhibits. It distinguishes documents by their regulatory purpose, checks fiscal periods rather than assuming calendar quarters, preserves the format actually supplied, and avoids claiming that every issuer publishes a deck or a PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get quarterly results without paying for a data service?

Yes. Investor Relations archives and SEC EDGAR are free primary-source routes for companies that publish there. A third-party terminal may add search and analytics, but it is not necessary to obtain the issuer’s filed release or report.

How long after an earnings call is the 10-Q usually available?

The timing varies by issuer and filing deadline, so an earnings announcement should not be treated as a promise that the 10-Q is already posted. Check the issuer’s filing calendar and EDGAR by reporting period rather than relying on the call date.

Can I convert an EDGAR HTML filing into a PDF?

You can print or save a browser-formatted filing to PDF for personal organization, but the result is your local copy, not an SEC-provided PDF. Preserve the original filing link and form type so others can verify the source.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What does an amended filing mean for my downloaded results?

A filing marked with “/A” is an amendment to an earlier submission. Compare its filing date and amended sections with the original, and use the amended version when you need the issuer’s latest filed record for that period.

What should I search if a company has announced results but I cannot find the report?

For a domestic SEC-reporting issuer, search EDGAR for the earnings-related 8-K and the period’s 10-Q, then revisit the periodic filing listing if the release is newer than the report. For a foreign private issuer, check the company site and applicable 6-K filings.

Does every earnings call have an investor presentation PDF?

No. A company may provide a release and webcast without a separate deck, or publish slides in a different format. Check the event archive and any 8-K exhibit list; if no deck is linked, do not assume one was required.

Where should I look for Q4 results if there is no Q4 10-Q?

For a domestic issuer, look for the Q4 release or earnings 8-K and the annual 10-K. The fourth quarter is generally included in the annual report rather than a separate Q4 10-Q.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What does Item 2.02 or Item 9.01 tell me in an 8-K?

Item 2.02 commonly identifies the earnings announcement. Item 9.01 and the exhibit index can point to related attachments such as a release or supplemental materials. Check the exhibit descriptions and the file itself to confirm what it contains.

The Bottom Line

Start at the issuer’s official Investor Relations archive for the event materials, then use EDGAR to verify SEC filings when applicable. Match the fiscal period and document type, inspect exhibit links for slides, and remember that a release, 10-Q, 8-K and presentation serve different purposes. A Q4 10-Q or separate presentation PDF may not exist.
