Grounded is the best PS5 starting point if you want Aloft’s colorful, cooperative sandbox today. For Conan Exiles’ harsher fortress-building and multiplayer pressure, choose ARK: Survival Ascended or 7 Days to Die. Which PS5 survival game should you start with?
If you are new to survival games, start with Grounded. When are Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced coming to PS5?
Both games are planned for early 2027. Funcom and PlayStation announced the window on 27 October 2026 and said release dates and further details would come later. Neither game has an announced PS5 price, exact day, physical disc, or final console edition list.

The platforms are not identical. Aloft’s announcement is for a PS5 console debut, while Conan Exiles Enhanced is planned for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Wishlist pages are available on PlayStation Store, but a wishlist is not a release-date or pricing announcement.
What will Aloft be like on PS5?
Aloft is the cozy, restoration-first option: you convert floating islands into a moving skyship, build a home, farm, care for animals, glide between islands and repair ecosystems damaged by fungal corruption. Release state and launch content
Astrolabe Interactive Inc. has developed Aloft for six years, growing from a small group of friends into a studio. PC Early Access began on 15 January 2025. The PS5 release is planned as the complete 1.0 game, not an Early Access console port, and is expected to include the major PC updates plus new 1.0 stories and improvements on day one.
Five major updates have already expanded the PC version with wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization and broader exploration. The launch experience is described around discovering lost knowledge, curing fungal corruption, caring for animals, surviving hurricanes and restoring the ecosystem.

How many people can play Aloft together?
The Steam listing supports solo play, private joining and public lobbies, with groups of up to eight players total. That means one host can play with up to seven other people. Console-specific details such as cross-play with PC, cross-save, DualSense features and whether the same player cap applies on PS5 have not been announced.
What does Aloft cost?
Aloft’s PS5 price has not been announced. The PC Early Access page says its price will likely increase for the 1.0 release, but that statement concerns the PC version and does not establish a PS5 MSRP. No physical PS5 SKU has been announced.
How has the PC version been received?

What will Conan Exiles Enhanced change on PS5?
Conan Exiles is the severe, systems-heavy counterpart to Aloft: a Hyborian-world survival sandbox built around fortresses, thralls, dangerous travel, official servers and optional PvP. Its original release was 8 May 2018. The Enhanced edition brings the PC’s Unreal Engine 5 technology and quality-of-life work to current-generation consoles in early 2027.

Is Conan Exiles Enhanced free on PS5?
Yes, for existing PlayStation owners of Conan Exiles. Funcom says all players who own the PlayStation game receive the Enhanced version for PS5 for free, and buying either the PS4 or PS5 version grants access to the other generation’s version. The current PlayStation Store product is identified as Conan Exiles Legacy until the Enhanced release.
Players who do not already own the game will need to buy it; no new PS5 price has been published. Isle of Siptah remains a separate purchase.

The PC Enhanced update launched as a free Steam update in May 2026. Funcom’s technical description cites Lumen Global Illumination, Nanite Geometry and Virtual Shadow Maps, along with improved foliage, water, lighting, ground, armor and building visuals. The PC client was reduced from 120GB to 68GB.

Console Enhanced also promises a redesigned interface, performance and quality-of-life improvements, crafting and building from storage, three single-player or co-op save slots, and more seamless travel between the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah on one character and server. The Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc is scheduled to be included at the console launch; Part Three is dated 10 November 2026 on PC, which is not a confirmed PS5 patch date.
Will Conan Enhanced have cross-play?
Funcom says full cross-play is planned soon after launch, not necessarily on day one. The final platform matrix and activation date remain unconfirmed, so a PS5 player should not assume immediate play with every Xbox, PC or Legacy user.
How long will Conan Legacy remain supported?
Legacy remains playable in single-player and on private servers after the cutover, but support is limited to critical bug fixes. It will not receive new major content, Bazaar functionality or official servers after the transition. Funcom says Enhanced will continue receiving new content across platforms throughout 2027 and beyond.

Conan’s upgrade is free, but migration is not completely reversible. Plan the transition before loading a save or spending currency.
- Official Exiled Lands characters, followers and bases carry forward.
- Isle of Siptah bases cannot be preserved because integrating the island changed its physical coordinates.
- A single-player save loaded in Enhanced can no longer be opened in Legacy. If a console player cannot back up the save, that decision is permanent.
- Crom Coins, Bazaar items, DLC and Twitch Drops carry into Enhanced.
- Purchases made in Enhanced do not apply back to Legacy.
- After Enhanced launches, Crom Coins are no longer valid in Legacy and the Legacy Bazaar is disabled. Spend remaining currency before the release if you intend to continue using Legacy.
A safe pre-upgrade checklist
- Record which characters, followers and Exiled Lands bases you want to carry forward.
- Move or document anything important on Isle of Siptah, because those bases cannot be preserved through the coordinate change.
- Spend Legacy Crom Coins before the Enhanced release if you plan to keep playing Legacy.
- Decide whether each single-player save is moving permanently to Enhanced before opening it there.
- Check Funcom’s final console FAQ for the backup process and cross-play timing when the release date is published.

No Man’s Sky uses resource gathering, environmental hazards and life-support management across a huge galactic setting. Survival pressure is gentler than Conan’s, but the exploration and construction scope is much larger than Aloft’s islands. Games Genie scored it 86%; the PS5 version is native.
Minecraft — the simplest survival foundation

No. Loading that save in Enhanced is a one-way change, after which it cannot be opened in Legacy. Players who need both versions should wait for Funcom’s final console backup guidance before opening an important save in Enhanced.
