Choose the version that fits the hardware you already own. The PS5 release is the straightforward choice if you want documented DualSense adaptive triggers, haptics, Tempest 3D AudioTech, and console setup. Which version should you choose first?
Start with ownership, not theoretical image quality. If you already have a PS5 and do not have a Windows gaming PC close to the Steam requirements, PS5 is the lower-risk purchase. What are the release dates and storefront differences?
The official US storefront pages are live, but they show different dates. The PlayStation US listing displays October 29, 2026, while the Steam listing displays October 28, 2026. Treat both as the dates shown by those stores for their respective listings. Neither page explains whether the discrepancy reflects release timing, regional publishing operations, or a storefront display convention.
The prices below are US storefront figures visible at the October 2026 cutoff. Regional prices, taxes, discounts, and launch promotions can differ, so check the store serving your account before paying.

Does your PC meet Phantom Blade Zero’s requirements?
Steam lists two hardware targets. The minimum target is 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling enabled; the recommended target is 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. S-GAME Publishing provides those figures on the Steam listing; they are publisher targets, not an independent benchmark or a promise that every computer with the listed parts will produce identical results.

All requirement figures in this table come from S-GAME Publishing’s Steam listing. The processor and graphics-card combinations are examples of the models Steam names, not a guarantee that every newer or older card with a similar-looking specification will behave the same way.
How to check a Windows machine before buying
- Press Windows + R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. The System tab shows your Windows edition, processor, and memory. - Open the Display or Render tab to identify the active graphics processor and its reported memory. Compare the exact model with the GTX 1660, RX 5500 XT, RTX 3060 Ti, or RX 6700 XT examples in Steam’s listing.
- In File Explorer, right-click the drive where you intend to install the game and choose Properties. Confirm that at least 145 GB is free before downloading; free space is not the same as the drive’s advertised capacity.
- Confirm that the destination is an SSD, not only a large mechanical hard drive. Steam states an SSD installation requirement.
- Check the PC or laptop manufacturer’s documentation before planning an upgrade. Many laptops have soldered memory or graphics, and desktop upgrade compatibility depends on the motherboard, power supply, case clearance, and storage interface.
Meeting the minimum list does not turn the recommended target into a promise. The minimum and recommended entries differ in CPU and GPU class even though both list 16 GB of RAM, so memory alone is not a useful pass/fail test.
What the 145 GB SSD requirement means
Plan around 145 GB of available SSD space, not 145 GB of total drive capacity. The operating system, updates, shader caches, and other installed games also need room, and a drive that is nearly full can prevent an otherwise valid installation. If you are adding an SSD, verify the physical format, interface, motherboard support, laptop access, and available power or mounting hardware before purchasing; the Steam listing does not identify a particular drive model.

The published requirement also means an HDD-only computer does not meet the stated installation condition, even if its processor and graphics card match the table. Steam does not publish a separate storage allowance for patches or future updates, so keeping additional headroom is a practical precaution rather than a stated game requirement.

What PS5 Pro Enhanced does and does not tell you
The PS5 Pro Enhanced label confirms that PlayStation identifies the title as enhanced for PS5 Pro. It does not publish a frame-rate mode, resolution, ray-tracing setting, or image-quality comparison on the examined page. If you already own a PS5 but not a gaming PC
PS5 avoids the cost and compatibility work of building a PC that reaches the Steam targets. You get the documented DualSense, audio, Game Help, and accessibility feature set through one console installation. The trade-off is less published information about selectable resolution and frame-rate modes than Steam provides for PC; PlayStation’s page does not give directly comparable numbers.
If you already own a qualifying Windows PC but not a PS5
PC avoids buying a console and lets you use Steam’s achievements, Cloud, Family Sharing, and existing account library. No. Steam states that the minimum target is 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling enabled, so the listed output target includes an upscaling process. The page does not identify the upscaling technology or promise native 1080p rendering.
If my graphics card has 6 GB or 8 GB of VRAM, does it automatically meet the requirement?
