MTG Arena Codes: How to Redeem Them and Find Missing Rewards

To redeem an MTG Arena code on a computer, open the game’s Store and enter it in the Redeem Code field. On iPhone, Android, or any device where you are not using the desktop client, sign in at myaccounts.wizards.com, choose Redeem A Code, and then open the Arena app’s Store. The mobile app itself cannot redeem codes.

If a code is accepted but its reward seems missing, first visit the Store, check your Player Inbox, and make sure you are signed into the same Arena account that redeemed it. A successful redemption and a reward that is visible in your collection are not always the same moment or screen.

How do I redeem MTG Arena codes on PC or Mac?

Use the Store inside the Windows or macOS Arena client. Wizards’ support instructions also offer a website route, but the in-client Store is the straightforward option when you already have the game open.

  1. Launch Magic: The Gathering Arena and sign in to the account where you want the reward.
  2. Open Store from the top navigation bar.
  3. Find the field labeled Redeem Code. It is commonly shown near the top-right of the Store. If it is not there, scan the Store page for that exact label; published guides have described its position differently as the interface changes.
  4. Paste or carefully type the code. Preserve any printed hyphens, match the capitalization, and remove spaces before or after the code.
  5. Press Enter. A successful code should apply to the account. If the code grants an item but you do not see it immediately, follow the missing-reward checks below.

Wizards’ official guidance says codes are case-sensitive, so do not rely on older guides that say capitalization does not matter. It also warns that copying and pasting can add a leading or trailing space. Those invisible characters can cause an otherwise correct code to fail.

How do I enter a code on the Wizards website?

The website method works without launching the game and is the required route for players using the mobile app. Sign in with the same Wizards credentials connected to the Arena account that should receive the item.

  1. Go to myaccounts.wizards.com.
  2. Sign in with your Arena account credentials.
  3. Find the text box under Redeem A Code, enter the code, and select Redeem.
  4. Look for the on-screen confirmation. A website success message means the code was accepted, but it does not necessarily mean that every reward will appear on screen at once.
  5. Open MTG Arena, go to Store, and check for the items. Wizards’ instructions specifically say to visit the Store after redeeming on the website.

If you are already in the mobile app, some guides describe opening the account page through Settings → Account → Account Preferences. That route opens the same Wizards account site, but an ordinary browser is the more dependable choice. Do not search generic profile or event menus for a gift-code box: Arena’s documented options are the desktop Store and the Wizards account website.

Can I redeem MTG Arena codes on mobile, iPhone, or Android?

No—not inside the Arena app. Wizards’ Store FAQ says, in capital letters, that codes cannot be redeemed on the mobile version of the app at this time. There is no in-app Redeem Code field on iOS or Android.

Use a browser instead: sign in at myaccounts.wizards.com with the same account used in Arena, enter the code under Redeem A Code, and select Redeem. Then return to the app, open Store, and check for the reward. This applies whether you are on iPhone or Android; the important part is using the correct account and making the Store visit afterward.

Why is my MTG Arena code not working?

Wizards says an expired, incorrect, or previously redeemed code produces a Redeem Code Failure. The same sort of rejection can occur when the entry contains extra spaces or when a code is intended for a different product or redemption system.

If you see the message “This code is not valid or has already been used the maximum number of times for this account”, work through these checks:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Check the text exactly. Paste the code again, remove any spaces at the beginning or end, and match its capitalization. Keep hyphens if they are printed on the code. Wizards explicitly says codes are case-sensitive.
  2. Check whether it has already been used. Most codes are limited to one use per account. A shared public code might still work for someone else while being unavailable to you because you already redeemed it.
  3. Check the expiry and terms. Codes can expire, and product codes may have their own conditions or regional restrictions. Wizards has not published an official list of every currently active public code, so a code appearing on an old list is not proof that it still works.
  4. Make sure it is an Arena code. A product key, shipping or order confirmation, event-entry token, or prize-payment notice may belong to another system. An event cash or product prize, for example, does not go into the Store’s Redeem Code box.
  5. Consider whether a physical code has been spent. A unique code from a starter kit or older product may already have been redeemed by a previous owner. Buying an opened or used product does not guarantee that its one-time code remains unused.
  6. Check the product’s region variant. Some physical products include Arena codes only in select regions. A code card may be absent from a regional version even when another version of the same product includes one.

A failed attempt is different from an accepted code whose reward is hard to see. If you received a success confirmation, do not keep submitting the code; use the checks in the next section instead.

I redeemed a code, but I did not get my packs, cards, XP, or cosmetics. What should I check?

Start by confirming that the code was accepted, then check the places where Arena delivers or displays rewards. Some older codes do not produce an inventory animation, and some grants arrive through the Player Inbox rather than through a code at all.

1. Visit the Store after a website redemption

After redeeming through the Wizards website, launch Arena and open Store. Wizards’ instructions specify this step as the way to receive the items. A website confirmation and an obvious pack-opening animation are not interchangeable signals; check the Store and your collection before concluding that the grant failed.

2. Check the Player Inbox

Many free rewards are messages with attachments, not codes. Wizards introduced the Player Inbox in December 2022 as a way to deliver news and promotional items without requiring code entry. The release notes used six Alchemy: The Brothers’ War packs as an example: players claimed them from the inbox without a code or event participation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Open the inbox in Arena and look for unread messages or attachments. Messages have an expiration date. Wizards says that when a message expires, any unclaimed attachments are added silently to the collection; you keep the items, but may not receive a notification that they were collected. That can make a grant seem to have vanished even though it was added.

Free set packs have often been delivered this way, and hobby-press catalogues describe inbox grants for sets including Alchemy: Strixhaven, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Edge of Eternities, Final Fantasy, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Aetherdrift, MTG Foundations, Duskmourn, Bloomburrow, Modern Horizons 3, and older sets back through The Brothers’ War. These are examples of reported inbox grants, not code strings to enter; availability and message contents can vary.

3. Look beyond pack-opening animations

Wizards notes that certain older codes show a success prompt but provide no visual confirmation of what was added to inventory. Check the relevant collection, cosmetic options, or Mastery progress rather than waiting for a pack-opening screen. For an XP code, for instance, the expected change may be progress rather than a new card or pack.

4. Finish or skip the tutorial, then inspect the collection

New players may have tutorial steps left before their collection is fully available to inspect. Hobby-press reporting also says that completing the how-to-play tutorial can trigger a substantial bundle of recent-set packs and variant lands through the inbox. Finish or skip the tutorial, claim inbox messages, and then check the collection. If a grant is still not visible, make sure you are not looking at a secondary account.

How do I find a card or cosmetic that my collection is hiding?

If the account received the reward but a card does not appear in a deck or collection view, clear filters and check the format. Arena’s collection tools can hide cards without removing them from the account.

  1. Open Collection. From the deck-building screen, use the Decks header and then the Collection control at the lower right.
  2. Open the slider or filter icon. Set the collection filter to Collected and clear other filters that could exclude the card.
  3. If searching from a deck, check the format shown on the deck box. A format restriction can keep a card from appearing in that deck’s results.
  4. For alternate-art basic lands, use the arrow beside the basic land to cycle through available versions.
  5. For card styles, open Advanced Filters, select both Collected and Not Collected, expand printings, and check the favorite-heart control. Also review Options → Gameplay for Auto-Apply Card Styles and Hide Alternate Art Styles.
  6. Confirm that you are signed into the account that redeemed the code. A card can be on another account even when the display name looks familiar.

Why does my MTG Arena account look empty or reset?

A different sign-in can silently create or open a different Arena account, making the original collection appear to be gone. Before assuming a wipe or a failed reward, verify the email and full display name for the account you are using.

Wizards says no two Arena accounts can share the exact same email address, and one account cannot have two different five-digit display-name identifiers. Compare the complete name, including the number after the hash—for example, Name#12345 versus Name#54321. The same visible name with a different number indicates a different account.

Log out and sign in with the original email address used for Arena. If you normally use a particular device, enabling Remember Me can help avoid repeatedly choosing the wrong login. If the original account still cannot be accessed, contact Wizards Customer Support through the MTG Arena support site rather than treating an empty-looking second account as proof that the collection was deleted.

What if the code was for a Prerelease, Starter Kit, Secret Lair, or event prize?

First identify what the code or message is meant to unlock. Product codes, Prerelease event codes, inbox grants, and prize-payment emails have different delivery paths; not all belong in the Arena Store.

Starter Kit codes

Some physical Magic products include unique Arena codes. Wizards’ 2024 Bloomburrow Starter Kit announcement lists two Arena code cards, available in select regions, alongside its two 60-card Standard-legal decks: Hare Raising (white-green) and Otter Limits (blue-red). The codes unlock the decks and their cards in Arena. Retailer product copy states an expiration date of June 23, 2029 for the Bloomburrow kit’s Arena code, but check the terms printed with the product and remember that a code may already have been used.

Starter kits are a clearer place to look for physical Arena unlocks than current Prerelease kits, but region and condition still matter. Opened or second-hand products can have spent codes, and some regional versions omit digital code cards. Do not assume that a sealed-looking listing or an image of a code card proves the particular product you receive includes an unused code.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Prerelease codes

Wizards’ support article still tells Prerelease players to look on the back of the token card beside the rules insert for an event code. However, hobby-press reporting says new Prerelease kits stopped including Arena codes in 2025; players instead register their Arena account at the store and receive boosters on login. These statements refer to different kit periods, so check the date and instructions for your specific event. Older kits, including some from Murders at Karlov Manor, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, and Outlaws of Thunder Junction or earlier, may contain an unused code. Packaging copy on older product listings may not reflect the newer practice.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Secret Lair and other product codes

Some limited Secret Lair products have included codes for Arena cosmetics such as sleeves. For certain products, digital activation information may be delivered by email and become available only after the product ships. The exact delivery method depends on the product; check its order confirmation and official product instructions rather than assuming every Secret Lair has an Arena code. Older Planeswalker decks from Guilds of Ravnica through Core Set 2021 historically included one-time Arena unlocks, but hobby-press sources report those older codes as expired.

Event prizes and eWallet emails

An Arena tournament prize is not the same as a promotional code. Wizards’ Event Prize Support FAQ says prize setup uses an i-Payout eWallet. Watch for an email from [email protected] or [email protected], including in spam: the setup message generally arrives within about two weeks of an event, while Arena Direct setup is listed at 7–14 business days. Players cannot create the wallet in advance; Wizards initiates it.

For events held in the United States, including remote Arena events, Wizards says 30% of the prize total is withheld for players who are not U.S. residents. Arena Direct product prizes still require the eWallet for tax confirmation. Wizards also warns that failing to redeem an event prize within six months of the event may result in service fees being deducted. For an event-prize problem, email [email protected] with the event name, your legal name, and your Arena display name including its # identifier. Do not enter an eWallet email or event prize notice in the Store code field.

Where can I get Arena codes in 2026?

For many free packs, check the Player Inbox before hunting for a public code. Wizards introduced inbox rewards as a no-code delivery method, and recent hobby-press reporting describes inbox grants as a regular route for free set packs and other items. Inbox messages are account-specific and may expire, so claim attachments while they are available.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Shared public promo codes are less predictable. Lists that were current at different points in 2026 disagree about whether certain Play codes and puzzle answers still work, and at least one published list contained contradictory status information. Wizards does not provide an official live-code list. Treat an old public code as something you can try once—not as a guaranteed current reward—and do not mistake a code list’s age or confidence for official confirmation. Wizards’ promotions overview is at magic.wizards.com/en/promotions.

Unique codes may still come with some physical products, especially starter kits, subject to region, expiry, and prior-use limits. Local game stores and creator giveaways may also distribute codes from time to time, but they are not a predictable source. Historical Prime Gaming or Twitch Prime offers should not be treated as a current channel; recent reporting has not identified new Arena loot there in years. Be cautious with resale offers: a one-time code can already be redeemed, and third-party resale is not an official distribution route.

What should a new player do before opening code packs?

Complete or skip the tutorial first, then claim inbox rewards, redeem any product codes, and only then open packs. Pocket Tactics advises new players to obtain all New Player Experience decks before opening booster packs from codes, which can reduce duplicate-common flooding. The tutorial and inbox sequence also helps ensure that starter rewards are claimed before you assess what a code added.

When should I contact support?

Contact support when the code is rejected despite careful entry and valid terms, a success confirmation is followed by a Store visit and the reward remains missing, or you cannot regain access to the correct account. Choose the support path that matches the problem: code redemption, missing collection card, reset-looking account, paid purchase, or event prize.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Code rejected or code reward missing: use Wizards’ Code Redemption Tips and Troubleshooting support article.
  • Card or style not visible: use Unable to find a card on your account.
  • Account seems reset: consult Account Looks Reset, then contact Wizards through MTG Arena Customer Support if the original login remains inaccessible.
  • Paid gems or gold missing: this is an order issue, not code redemption. Wizards directs players to Submit a Request → Order Issues for mobile purchases and missing Gold or Gems; PC/Mac real-money checkout issues go to Xsolla.
  • Event cash or product prize missing: check the eWallet email and spam folder, then contact [email protected] with the event and account details described above.

When writing to support, include the exact error text, the code type or product, when you redeemed it, the account display name with its identifier, and whether you completed the website-to-Store step. Never send a full unused code publicly; provide it only through the official support process if requested.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do MTG Arena codes expire?

Some codes have an expiration date, while others may become unusable because they have already been redeemed or reached their account-use limit. Check the terms printed with a physical product and treat old online lists as historical unless a current source confirms the code.

Can I use one MTG Arena code on two accounts?

Most codes are limited to one redemption per account, and unique product codes are generally one-time-use. If a code was already redeemed, another account should not expect to receive the same reward by entering it again.

Are MTG Arena promo codes the same as Magic: The Gathering Online codes?

No. A code meant for another game or service will not grant an Arena reward through the Arena Store. Check the product or promotion’s instructions before entering a code, especially when it is an event, shipping, or prize-related notice.
