Stainless finish and controls

How do the browning, defrost, reheat and cancel controls work?
The controls cover the common jobs, but the manual’s sequence matters for frozen and already-toasted bread. Set the browning control as you normally would, then choose the specialist function after lowering the lever.
Normal browning and cancel
Select the desired browning level, depress the lever and allow the cycle to finish. Pressing cancel stops the active cycle. The high-lift lever is intended to raise the carriage farther than its normal resting position so smaller slices can be removed without reaching into the slot.

Defrosting frozen bread
The instruction manual says to leave the browning control at its usual setting when defrosting. The toaster runs a longer cycle that both defrosts and toasts the bread.
- Set the browning control to your usual position.
- Place the frozen bread in the slots and depress the lever.
- Press the defrost button after the lever is down.
- Use cancel if you need to stop the extended cycle early.
Reheating cooled toast
For toast that has already been cooked but has gone cold, lower the lever and select reheat. The manual describes reheat as a short cycle rather than a second full browning program, so it is intended to warm the slice without deliberately adding much colour.

How to interpret the uncertainty
Evenness should be treated as an open buying question rather than a known defect. A toaster can behave differently with sliced white bread, dense multigrain, thick-cut loaves and frozen slices, and a single report cannot separate bread shape, loading position, setting or appliance variation.
