Moneyfarm reportedly rejected an approach from eToro Group to buy the European digital wealth manager for between €250 million and €300 million, according to contemporaneous reports citing people familiar with private discussions. The reports describe a rejected proposal, not a signed agreement or completed transaction. Neither company has publicly disclosed a detailed offer document, and it remains unknown whether eToro will return with a higher bid or whether discussions have formally ended.
How much was eToro reportedly offering for Moneyfarm?
The reported proposal valued Moneyfarm at approximately €250 million to €300 million. Sources cited in the reports said Moneyfarm regarded the valuation as too low or otherwise insufficient. Moneyfarm’s reported scale
Moneyfarm said in 2025 that it had more than 130,000 active investors and more than £4 billion in assets under management. It is described as FCA regulated and backed by Allianz Asset Management, M&G plc, Cabot Square Capital, Poste Italiane and United Ventures. A larger offer might therefore have been expected by shareholders who value its regulated infrastructure, assets and established operations in the United Kingdom and Italy.
Historical valuation context
Reuters reported that a 2022 capital raise of £44.1 million valued Moneyfarm at approximately £300 million to £350 million. That is historical fundraising context, not a current mark and not directly comparable with a euro-denominated acquisition proposal several years later. Changes in assets, revenue, profitability, market conditions and investor expectations could all affect how shareholders assess a new bid.
What would eToro gain from buying Moneyfarm?
The strategic logic is an inference from the companies’ businesses, not a rationale publicly attributed to eToro in the reports. eToro operates a large retail investing platform, while Moneyfarm supplies regulated wealth-management technology, portfolio management and customer-service capabilities.

Moneyfarm’s regulated operating footprint in the UK and Italy could give eToro a faster route into advice-led or managed-investment services in Europe. Moneyfarm could, in turn, provide access to eToro’s broad retail audience. eToro reported more than 38 million registered users across 75 countries in 2025, although registered users are not the same measure as funded or active investment customers.
Is the eToro–Moneyfarm UK ISA partnership still active?
The reported acquisition approach sits alongside a separate UK commercial partnership that was described as active. Under the arrangement, UK eToro customers can open a Stocks & Shares ISA in the eToro app, while Moneyfarm provides the account technology, manages investment portfolios and handles customer relationships.
An eToro investor-relations release dated February 12, 2025 described a Moneyfarm-powered DIY ISA alongside an existing managed ISA. It said UK clients could select from more than 1,000 assets, including UK-listed stocks, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds and bonds, and could transfer existing ISAs with Moneyfarm handling the transfer. A bid rejection does not, by itself, cancel that operating agreement; the available reporting did not say that the partnership had ended.

Moneyfarm Chief Commercial Officer Fabio Zampaglione said the company’s “commitment to evolving our B2B2C solutions remains a key area of growth for Moneyfarm.” That statement is consistent with the partnership model, but it does not confirm any acquisition discussions or their outcome.

Would a Moneyfarm acquisition automatically move customer accounts to eToro?
