Cachette’s upstairs Armory hides a working 3D printer that can produce a random weapon during a multiplayer match. Wait for the printer to finish, break its case or display, and collect the gun inside. The pickup is immediately usable in that match, but the result changes between lobbies, so there is no guaranteed way to request a particular weapon.
Where is the 3D printer on Cachette?
The printer is upstairs in the Armory point of interest on the Cachette multiplayer map. It is enclosed and has a weapon visible in its display, making it look like environmental machinery until you approach it.

The discovery was first documented by Reddit user muggs1213 and subsequently reported by Dexerto and GameSpot. Those reports describe an Easter egg rather than a menu item, challenge reward or permanent weapon-unlock system.
How do I get the random gun from the Cachette Armory?
You can perform the interaction in a normal Cachette multiplayer match. Follow these steps:

- Queue for a multiplayer match on Cachette.
- Travel to the Armory upstairs.
- Find the enclosed 3D printer with a weapon in its display.
- Wait a short time so the printer can finish its cycle.
- Melee the printer case or screen until it breaks open.
- Pick up the exposed weapon and use it immediately.
If the printer does not open at once, keep waiting briefly and strike the enclosure again. The reports do not identify a precise timer or a special button prompt, so the interaction may be easiest when the room is safe from opposing players.
What guns can the Modern Warfare 4 3D printer give you?

Are the printer weapons fully kitted?
Reports generally describe the multiplayer drops as prebuilt weapons with several attachments, commonly up to five. The original discoverer also reported seeing repeats with the same attachments, indicating that at least some weapon configurations are fixed rather than rerolled every time.
That does not prove every gun always has five attachments or that each weapon has only one setup. The same account noted multiple setups for some weapons, including the PPSH. Consider the attachment information a description of reported drops, not an exhaustive rule.
Is the 3D-printed camo unlockable?
A 3D-printed weapon camo has been seen in the game, but its unlockability is unconfirmed. The original discovery post specifically says the camo appeared but that it was unclear whether players could obtain it. Seeing the visual on a printer weapon should not be treated as proof of a challenge, blueprint or permanent cosmetic reward.

How does this Easter egg relate to DMZ?
TechRadar has described Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode as featuring a physical hub with a 3D printer that forges equipment from collected resources. Cachette’s printer appears to echo that idea in multiplayer, but its function is different: it supplies a random, ready-to-use weapon rather than asking players to gather materials or craft progression items.
Why might the printer give me a different gun?
The selection appears random at the start of each match, and players have reported repeat drops. A weapon seen in one lobby therefore is not guaranteed in the next. The available evidence does not provide probabilities, a reroll method or a way to influence the result by waiting longer.
- Want a specific weapon? Keep queueing Cachette matches; there is no documented selection control.
- The printer looks empty? Check that you are in the upstairs Armory and allow a short completion period before attacking the case.
- You cannot claim the gun? Another player may have taken it, or the interaction may have been interrupted during combat.
- The weapon looks different from a previous drop? Multiple setups and random selection have both been reported.
What should players expect from the Cachette printer?
The practical value is a free, immediately usable weapon during that match, especially when the generated build suits your loadout. Its unpredictability is also the limitation: the printer is an opportunistic pickup, not a reliable replacement for choosing a class or unlocking a weapon through normal progression.

Because the discovery comes from player observation and secondary reporting, Activision or Infinity Ward could clarify, change or remove the behavior in a later update. Until official documentation appears, use the printer for the surprise weapon and treat the named pool, attachment count and camo status as provisional.

Does breaking the printer count toward a melee challenge?
No report confirms challenge progress, score bonuses or event tracking for damaging the printer. Break it to expose the weapon, but do not rely on the Easter egg for progression credit.
Will the printer keep its weapon if nobody opens it?
The available accounts say a weapon is present at the start of a match, but they do not document despawn timing or whether it changes while left inside. The safest approach is to collect it soon after the printer is ready.
