Bloomberg reporting puts the potential pool at about 60,000 people, but Microsoft has not published an official eligibility count. Chief People Officer Amy Coleman said the VEO gives eligible employees who may be considering a future outside Microsoft a supported way to leave, while giving participating organizations another way to adjust their workforces. How many Microsoft employees could be eligible?
The often-quoted figure of approximately 60,000 workers comes from Bloomberg reporting carried by outlets including NDTV. It is a media estimate of the potential pool, not a number Microsoft confirmed.
