Use the exact Steam error to choose the fix. For Invalid Product Code, confirm the code is a Steam game key, check commonly confused characters, and then ask the retailer for help. A duplicate product code is already attached to a Steam account and cannot be registered again; recover the account that used it or request a replacement from the seller. Not Available In Your Region means the key’s activation territory does not match your account or location; the seller must verify the promised region and offer a compatible replacement or its stated remedy. Steam does not refund third-party key purchases.
Lost and Found Co. launched on Steam on March 5, 2026. It was developed and published by Bit Egg Inc. with Gamirror Games also listed as a publisher. The game has an official Steam support route, but the retailer that accepted payment remains the correct first contact for a failed, duplicated, or region-incompatible key.

First, make sure you are redeeming the right kind of code
A retail or digital game key should be identified as Steam-redeemable in the seller’s email, order page, or packaging. In the Steam client, open Add a Game in the lower-left corner, choose Activate a Product on Steam, accept the agreement, and enter the code. Do not put a game key into a Steam Wallet Code field. A Wallet Code adds account balance; it does not unlock a game. Also do not confuse a retail key with a key Steam issued for a game already in your library, which may appear under the game’s Manage menu as CD keys. Those are different products and workflows.

Before contacting anyone, record the exact message Steam displays. “Invalid Product Code,” “duplicate product code,” and “Not Available In Your Region” indicate different problems and require different remedies.

How do I fix “Invalid Product Code” for Lost and Found Co.?
Start with a platform check and a careful transcription check. If the delivered code is definitely a Steam key and the characters match, the retailer must investigate or replace it; repeatedly submitting the same code will not make an invalid key valid.
1. Confirm the platform in the listing or delivery message
Look for wording such as “Steam key,” “Steam code,” or “redeem on Steam.” If the seller describes another launcher or platform, Steam will reject it even when the code itself is genuine. Save a copy of the listing and delivery email because the stated platform is important evidence in a replacement claim.
2. Recheck characters that are easy to confuse

3. Enter it through Steam’s product-activation path
Use Add a Game → Activate a Product on Steam while signed into the account that should own the game. If the same error appears after a correctly transcribed Steam code is submitted, stop trying variations. Take a screenshot of the message without publishing the full key and open a ticket with the seller.
What to send the retailer
- Order number and purchase receipt.
- The exact error text and the date and time of the attempt.
- The platform and region promised in the listing.
- A screenshot showing the error, with the complete key hidden.
- The account’s Steam country or store region, if the seller asks for it.
Valve’s guidance directs buyers of retail keys back to the place of purchase. A seller can verify its inventory, confirm whether a code was issued for Steam, and provide a replacement or refund under its own terms.

What does “duplicate product code” mean, and can I reuse the key?
A duplicate product code is already tied to a Steam account. Valve says it cannot be registered again, so re-entering it, changing computers, or reinstalling Steam will not release it.
If you may have redeemed it before
Search every Steam account you own. Sign out and try the email addresses you have used with Steam, then check the library for Lost and Found Co.. If you can access the account that redeemed the key, no second activation is needed; install the game from that library.
If you cannot sign in, use Steam’s account-recovery options and search your email for Steam purchase or account messages. Do not create multiple new accounts in an attempt to claim the same code. The key remains attached to the first account that registered it.
If you bought it as unused
If none of your accounts owns the game and the seller advertised the code as new or unused, contact the seller with the receipt, order number, exact duplicate message, and a redacted screenshot. Ask for a replacement key or the refund remedy described in that seller’s policy. Only the seller can investigate how a third party’s code was previously redeemed.

Steam Support cannot transfer a duplicate key to your account or disclose another customer’s account details. Never post the complete code in a public forum; anyone who sees it may attempt to claim it.
How do I fix “Not Available In Your Region”?
A regional rejection means the code is restricted to an activation territory that does not match the account or location being used. General Steam-activation guidance notes that some codes are region based and directs buyers back to the original place of purchase. There is no verified, game-specific country matrix for Lost and Found Co., so do not assume a particular country is supported or blocked without the seller’s listing or package terms.

Compare the promised territory with your purchase
Check the order page, product title, and delivery email for terms such as a named country, continent, or “worldwide.” Then compare that promise with your actual Steam store country and the region in which the key is being activated. Keep screenshots of both the promise and the rejection.
Ask for a compatible remedy
Tell the seller that Steam reports Not Available In Your Region. Request a key whose activation territory matches the advertised destination, or ask for the refund option the seller offers for a regional mismatch. The seller may need to verify the code’s territory with its distributor.

Do not buy another code until the original seller has answered, because a second purchase can make the dispute harder to document.
Can Steam refund a Lost and Found Co. key bought elsewhere?
No. Valve’s refund policy states: “Valve cannot provide refunds for purchases made outside of Steam (for example, CD keys or Steam wallet cards purchased from third parties).” The standard Steam-store offer—within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime—applies to games bought through Steam, not to an external key transaction. For a key bought from a retailer, request a replacement or refund from that retailer. Follow its published time limits, evidence requirements, and payment-dispute process. What if Steam says the key was revoked after activation?
“Revoked” is a separate branch from invalid, duplicate, and regional errors. A key can activate successfully and later be removed by its publisher or issuer. Valve’s guidance for third-party purchases is to ask the seller for a refund. Provide the seller with the date the game disappeared or became unplayable, the Steam notification, the order record, and any publisher message.

Do not describe a revoked key as merely “invalid” in the claim. The distinction helps the seller trace the original issuance and determine whether a replacement or refund is available.
When should I contact official Lost and Found Co. support?
Use the game’s official Steam support page for game-specific technical questions, such as a problem launching after the game is correctly in your library. Steam lists an option labeled I’m having trouble with my retail CD key in the product support flow. The listed product-support email is [email protected].
For a failed purchase, contact the retailer first. The developer can explain game support or direct you to the appropriate channel, but it generally cannot refund a transaction made by an unrelated key seller. What evidence should I keep before opening a claim?
Save the original order confirmation, invoice, seller name, product title, promised platform and territory, delivery timestamp, and every Steam error message. - Do not guess keys: Character substitutions can turn a valid code into an invalid submission and do not create a new code.
- Do not keep resubmitting a duplicate: A redeemed key cannot be freed by repeated attempts.
- Do not confuse wallet funds with a game key: A gift card funds a new purchase; it cannot repair the failed code.
- Do not assume a country restriction: Verify the seller’s exact territory terms instead of relying on forum claims or an unverified country list.
- Do not expose the complete code: Redact screenshots and public posts.
- Do not use unrelated cleanup or repair software: Invalidity, duplication, and region eligibility are controlled by Steam’s and the issuer’s servers, not by Windows files on the buyer’s PC.
Can buying the game directly from Steam solve the immediate problem?
A direct purchase from the official Lost and Found Co. Steam listing creates a new Steam-store transaction, but it does not validate, change, or refund the original third-party key. Pursue the seller’s replacement or refund first when possible.

If you decide to buy again, a physical Steam Gift Card can fund a separate Steam purchase where available. It is not a fix for an invalid, duplicate, revoked, or region-locked key, and the card’s own terms and availability should be checked before purchase.
How to choose the right next step
- Read the exact error. Record whether it says invalid, duplicate, regional, or revoked.
- Confirm the product type. Make sure the code is for Steam game activation, not a wallet balance or another launcher.
- Check the account history. For a duplicate message, look through every Steam account you may have used.
