Lost and Found Co. is a relaxed hidden-object adventure, not a timed clicking test. The reliable way to progress is to scan each scene in layers, open anything that looks interactive, and finish every objective chain in the room before moving on. If one item is missing, it is usually behind a clickable prop, inside a newly opened secret area, or a tiny object with an awkward hitbox—not a randomly generated spawn.
You play Ducky, a duck turned human intern for the fading dragon goddess Mei. Together they run a magical lost-and-found service in Plumville, returning belongings, completing client Requests, and rebuilding belief in Mei. This guide explains the search language (including Obscured, Quest, and Juju), gives a safe early-game route, and provides a recovery checklist for the dreaded “one item left” screen.

What kind of game is Lost and Found Co.?
Lost and Found Co. combines hand-drawn hidden-object scenes with light environmental puzzles and a character-driven story. Bit Egg Inc. (Thailand), with Gamirror Games, places you in a cozy, anime-influenced world where every recovered object has a small story. The official Nintendo wording captures the premise: “Every lost item has a story.”
Mei is a nearly forgotten dragon goddess whose power is fading because fewer people believe in her. Her new company sends Ducky to Plumville homes, shops, shrines, islands, and other magical locations. A fox thief named Kit and OK Corp’s shrine-replacement plan provide a gentle antagonist thread, but the tone remains humorous and comforting rather than grim detective fiction.

How much content is there?
Two official counts describe different points in the game’s life. The launch-era FAQ listed 11 Story levels and 16 Request levels, estimating about 10 hours for a normal clear and about 20 hours for completionists. October 2026 press material describes more than 30 hand-drawn levels and 20-plus hours, reflecting later summer, Halloween, ninja, and academy content. Treat those as different builds: a first story run is roughly 10 hours, while a full cleanup with later stages is 20-plus hours.
Bit Egg’s press material advertises more than 10,000 hand-drawn, animated objects to poke; CEO Richmond Lee separately said there are more than 15,000 hand-drawn objects and characters. The game has an original soundtrack with more than 130 tracks. Steam lists 27 achievements, each tied to completing a specific stage at 100 percent.
Do I need to hurry or click quickly?
No. There is no ticking clock or forced urgency in the scenes. GosuGamers reviewer Anna Bernardo described being able to scan at her own pace, and the beginner rule from Casual Game Guides is simple: “Usually the answer is not to click faster.”
Fast blind clicking creates two problems: you skip the visual layer where the item is hiding, and you may trigger an object without noticing what it changed. Move deliberately, watch for a newly opened container, and read the task wording after every interaction.
- Start at one edge of the scene and work across it instead of jumping randomly.
- Pause after a click that opens, moves, or transforms something.
- Use the centre of a small object rather than its outline; half-visible props often have narrow hitboxes.
- When a list item seems absent, assume a condition has not been met before assuming a bug.
What do Obscured and Quest mean?
Obscured means the item is inside or behind another clickable prop. Quest means finding the listed object opens another objective, normally nearby. Casual Game Guides’ rule is: “Obscured means the item is hidden inside or behind something clickable. Quest means the item opens more objectives after you find it.”
Obscured objects
Look for a yellow hand marker or any prop that appears designed to open. Typical examples include a freezer, fridge, drawer, door, box, bush, helmet, cooler, suitcase, or hen coop. In Chapter 2, the taiyaki is inside a freezer and the frog is under a Viking helmet. Clicking the visible container first is the intended solution.
Quest chains
A Quest item can show a small text box with an ellipsis (“…”). Click it, then immediately search the same area for the newly enabled target. Chapter 3, “Going Viral,” is built around ten pairs and about 20 main objectives: a Ducky Hat leads to Ducky, a briefcase leads to a gangster, and a scythe found in the lake leads to the Grim Reaper. Leaving the shrine after the first click is the usual reason players think the stage is stuck.
How should I search a crowded scene?
Use a repeatable three-layer sweep. The method is more dependable than trying to recognise every object in one glance.

- Middle layer: clear shelves, counters, tables, displays, machinery, and wall-mounted objects.
- Bottom layer: inspect floor clutter, plants, trays, bags, puddles, and anything partly covered by foreground scenery.
Finish one zone, floor, or interior room before jumping to another. Zoom in on tiny objects and pan across packed shelves. Check the edges of signs, shelf lips, drawers, boxes, and trays. Trust the object’s shape more than translated wording: a folded bill may be labelled as a wallet, for example.
List hints are short and vary in usefulness. Regular text hints are free but can be vague. Side missions generally have no hints, so they are best attempted after the main list has taught you the scene’s hiding patterns.
What is the safest order for the first five chapters?
Follow the main Story chain before attempting exhaustive optional cleanup. The first chapters teach the game’s three essential behaviours: spot tiny visible items, open containers, and stay for Quest follow-ups.
Chapter 1 — Unlucky Ducky (Plum Dragon Shrine)
This tutorial contains five straightforward targets. Search in this order:
- Mei’s Phone: a small orange phone in the dirt in front of the shrine steps, around the mid-lake area.
- Peach: in the cherry-blossom tree.
- Small Dragon Statue: in the garden on the right side.
- Lotus Flower: low in the left pond, below the statue.
- Ducky: on the pond surface among the lily pads.
Clicking Ducky triggers Mei’s transformation and opens Chapter 2. The lesson is that a target can be tiny and in plain sight; scan the waterline instead of clicking every large prop.

This is the first Obscured lesson. The route is:
- Fox Mask on the upper-right shelf.
- Tanuki under the hanging shirts beside the red fridge.
- Taiyaki inside the freezer.
- Frog under the Viking helmet on the top shelf—click the helmet first.
- Mei’s Phone outside on a bench.
- Potion in a treasure chest on the top floor—open the chest.
If a listed item is not sitting on a surface, inspect the nearest container. Into Indie Games also describes the fried fish in the fridge and the flask in the third-floor chest; these are the same kind of interaction lesson.
Chapter 3 — Going Viral (Plum Dragon Shrine)
This is where the full gameplay loop begins. Stay in the shrine and complete each pair before wandering. The important chains include:
- Ducky Hat by the left riverbank and then Ducky at the lake.
- Super Sweet Mic near the ice-cream stand and the Famous Reporter in the upper-right crowd.
- Heirloom Umbrella in a tree trash can, followed by the vampire.
- Briefcase from the police car, followed by the gangster.
- Crown on a streetlight, followed by the princess in rags.
- Scythe in the lake, followed by the Grim Reaper.
- Cane in a golf bag, followed by the old lady.
- Statue wig, followed by the bald man.
- Halo on a beggar, followed by an angel with a donut.
These are ten Quest pairs in the main objective list. A stage that refuses to turn green here almost always has one uncompleted second target.
Chapter 4 — An Important Meeting (OK Tower)
This is a compact clue hunt for a fancy mask, shrine miniature, handsome portrait, and magazine. Return to the shrine and talk to Kit after completing the tower objectives; that conversation unlocks the next Story case.

Chapter 5 — The First Request (Candy Corner)
Your first full client job introduces secret-room logic. Hit the vending machine to free the grape soda, open Granny’s door to reach the candy cane, drop an apple near the sleeping child in the top-right to wake them, and find the large black cat on the far left. The door is not itself on the list, but clicking it is the way to the hidden room.
How does progression work after the tutorial?
The core loop is: talk to a client, receive an item list, search an interactive stage, deliver the items, and then resolve any new objectives. A typical early job asks for around five items, while later scenes add animals, moving props, and environmental mini-puzzles.
Story Cases
Story Cases advance Mei’s campaign. The launch Story sequence is: Unlucky Ducky, The Suspicious Fox, Going Viral, An Important Meeting, The First Request, Toy Time Panic, What an Unlucky Day, Muddy Situation!, Smoothie Showdown, Unexpected Outcome, The Goddess’s Return, and A Little Incident.
Requests
Requests are client jobs in smaller or themed locations. Completing them raises the company’s standing and unlocks later Story cases, so skipping every Request can stall the campaign. They also provide jokes, extra collectibles, and rewards for the hub.

Hub and room rewards
Cases and Requests send gifts by mail and unlock decorations in Ducky’s Room. The room is a full editor: resize, rotate, layer, recolour, and adjust lighting. Kit Shop furniture is virtual in-game decor, including Halloween items added in the October update. Check the lobby between cases; the changing office is a visible record of your progress, and many pieces are mementoes from completed jobs.
How do Juju hints work?
Juju are optional grey, slightly wobbly collectibles disguised as ordinary objects. Catching one earns an extra, more pointed hint for a later hunt. Regular hints are free and often broad; a Juju hint consumes one collected Juju.
Do not spend Juju at the start of a cluttered scene. First finish the obvious list, perform every open Quest chain, and complete a full layer sweep. Then use a Juju on the one stubborn object. Early scarcity can feel frustrating, as Checkpoint Gaming noted, while GameGrin found the hint system forgiving for players who want a no-pressure experience.

What should I do when one item is missing?
Use this order instead of restarting immediately. It addresses the “last sock in the plant,” “water bottle,” “balloon,” or “pencil” problem that appears in community comments.
- Read the exact wording again. Translation can describe a shape unexpectedly, so search for the physical form as well as the English noun.
- Finish every active Quest. Look for ellipses, newly opened characters, and a second target in the same room.
- Rescan by layers. Check skyline, shelves, then floor clutter; zoom in and click the centre of small props.
- Open every plausible container. Recheck fridges, helmets, drawers, doors, boxes, plants, coolers, and bags.
- Inspect secret-room entrances. A door, painting, mouse hole, or apparently decorative wall may be the real trigger.
- Use a Juju hint. Spend it only after the previous checks.
- Reset the stage. Enter the stage, open its menu, and choose Reset Stage. This replays that level without clearing the whole game.
- Return to the lobby and talk to key characters. Story conversations can be the actual progression flag.
Several early save and softlock problems were patched. Version 1.0.3 (19 March 2026) addressed disappearing key characters, immediate-exit saving, the What an Unlucky Day energy-drink quest, Apartment Apocalypse graffiti cleanup, and a camera freeze in The Cursed Memento. Version 1.0.5 (31 March) fixed the Talk to Mallet softlock, Ducky’s Room tutorial support, and Allergy Season time changes; version 1.0.6 (1 April) corrected UI fonts. If an old video says Mallet vanished after Story 11, look around the shrine and speak to him after checking that the game is updated.

Visible clicks
The object is exposed but small, such as Chapter 1’s phone or peach. Search edges and use the centre of the hitbox.
Containers and obscured props
Open or move something first: freezer taiyaki, helmet frog, a lunch box in a microwave, a cigarette display, soda in a cooler, an egg in a hen coop, or a rubber duck in a suitcase.
Multi-step jobs
Toy Time Panic asks you to turn off a breaker, clean the mess, and click the worker to check out customers. Another chain dresses a girl in the clothes shop; clicking a panda’s wand turns a child into a magical girl.
Environmental mini-puzzles
Hit a vending machine, drop an apple on a sleeper, move the buoys in Smoothie Showdown until each beeps twice to reveal Ghost Island, light lampposts for a Juju in My Summer Memories, or use a ninja technique to clear well rocks in Master of Findjutsu.

Secret rooms
Granny’s door, the mouse hole in Missing Meow, and the last-supper painting in The Accursed Antique Shop hide extra content. In Master of Findjutsu, community walkthrough comments report that the first main quest must be completed before the ninja secret rooms and flowers can be unplanked.
Collection objectives
Optional cleanup can include all socks, toy mice, Juju, and Instapix-style photos of special characters such as John Lemon and Catlady. These objectives add completion rewards but are not required to move the main plot forward.

Should I play story-first or aim for 100 percent immediately?
Story-first is the safer route for most beginners: finish the campaign, learn each hiding pattern, then replay stages for Requests, Juju, and optional objectives. Trying to clear everything on the first visit is valid, but it creates long searches in busy stages such as Hop Street, Jolly Jug Isle, and Apartment Apocalypse.
| Approach | Advantages | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Story-first | Rooms teach mechanics in a controlled order; campaign unlocks arrive sooner. | You return to stages for optional cleanup. |
| 100%-as-you-go | Fewer replays; immediate access to jokes, Juju, and stage completion rewards. | Longer first visits and greater burnout risk in dense maps. |
Casual Game Guides’ checklist and the 27-achievement structure both support finishing the story and then cleaning up Requests. Optional objectives do not block the main clear, and Checkpoint Gaming notes that side missions have no hints.
What should I know before buying or choosing a platform?
The following details are current for October 2026 and can change with sales or updates.
| Edition | Availability | Price or requirement | Notable features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam for Windows | Released 5 March 2026 | US$17.99 list; US$14.39 during the 20% sale through 9 November 2026 (checked Oct 2026). | Steam for macOS | Released 5 March 2026 | Big Sur or newer, Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB storage minimum; Apple M1, 16 GB RAM, 4 GB storage recommended. | Same core content; language availability follows the Steam listing. |
| Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 | Announced for early 2027; exact date not published | Price not announced in the available announcement. | Local/online co-op for up to four, Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, motion controls, touchscreen; German at launch with more languages planned. |
Steam’s English-review widget showed 97 percent positive from 1,483 English reviews and 93 percent positive from 182 recent reviews at the 2026 listing. Bit Egg’s October press text instead referred to more than 3,000 reviews in all languages and more than 100,000 copies sold, so those counts are not interchangeable.
How do I avoid common progression mistakes?
- Do not confuse this game with Lost But Found; Lost and Found Co. has no Chill, timer, Mayhem, or thermometer fail-state modes.
- Do not leave a scene immediately after collecting an item if a dialogue or character interaction is pending. Let the objective update and, when possible, return to the lobby normally.
- Do not assume optional Requests are disposable. They raise company standing and unlock later Story cases.
- Do not spend every Juju on the first vague hint in a crowded room.
- Do not treat a grey, wobbly object as scenery until the obvious list is complete; it may be a Juju.
- Do not quit after Story 11 solely because an old guide says “talk to Mallet” is impossible; that softlock was addressed in version 1.0.5.
The game’s appeal is deliberate observation. Richmond Lee described it as “easy to pick up & play but rewards deep focus,” while Checkpoint Gaming’s Anna Monti wrote, “There’s just so much care in the chaos and clutter.” Slow scanning is not a workaround—it is the intended skill.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play Lost and Found Co. cooperatively?
Co-op is announced for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions, supporting local and online play for up to four people. The Nintendo release window is early 2027, and an exact date has not been published.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Are item locations random each time I replay a stage?
No. The official FAQ says objects are hand-placed rather than randomly generated. A reset therefore returns you to a learnable layout, which makes replaying for 100 percent practical.
How do I reset only one level without deleting my save?
Enter the stage you want to replay, open the stage menu, and choose “Reset Stage.” The separate “Clear All Data” command is in Lobby → Settings and restarts the whole game, so use it only when you intentionally want a full wipe.
What does the free Steam demo include?
Steam lists a separate Lost and Found Co. Demo app. The available information identifies it as free but does not specify its exact chapter or content limit, so check the current Steam listing before downloading.
Do optional Requests count toward the main ending?
Requests are side jobs, but completing them increases the company’s standing and unlocks later Story cases. You can finish a main objective without every optional collectible, then return for Request and achievement cleanup.
