This week’s dealmaking is led by three signed acquisitions and two separate sets of reported negotiations. London Stock Exchange Group agreed to buy credit-data provider Octus; Tradeweb agreed to acquire electronic credit marketplace Trumid; and Salesforce signed a deal for customer-engagement software company Braze. Visa–Fireblocks and DXC–Eldridge remain reported advanced discussions rather than definitive transactions.
The announcements span stablecoin infrastructure, private-credit intelligence, bond trading, customer engagement, healthcare, biotech, data-center services, insurance software and packaging. The table below separates confirmed agreements from talks and keeps cash consideration, enterprise value, equity value and tax assets labeled as announced.

What are the key deals this week?
These are the four headline transactions announced or reported during the week of October 19–22, 2026.
| Transaction | Status and date | Announced value and consideration | Expected timing | Strategic focus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa–Fireblocks | Reported advanced discussions; Seeking Alpha, 2026 | About $2.5 billion | Not stated; no definitive agreement | Stablecoin infrastructure and custody |
| London Stock Exchange Group–Octus | Agreed October 22, 2026 | $3.535 billion in cash | First half of 2027, subject to regulatory approval | Integrated public- and private-credit data, analytics and workflow tools |
| Tradeweb Markets–Trumid | Agreed October 19, 2026 | Approximately $1.97 billion total: $1.75 billion for the business and about $220 million in tax assets; approximately $1.89 billion cash plus $82 million in equity, subject to adjustments | First half of 2027, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals | Electronic credit trading, dealer and buy-side protocols, and primary-to-secondary market connectivity |
| Salesforce–Braze | Definitive agreement announced October 20, 2026 | Approximately $5.66 billion enterprise value; $47.50 cash per Braze Class A share | Salesforce fiscal 2028, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals | Real-time engagement across mobile, web, email, SMS and WhatsApp linked with CRM and Agentforce |
Is Visa buying Fireblocks?
Not yet. Seeking Alpha reported that Visa was in advanced discussions to acquire Fireblocks, a stablecoin-infrastructure and custody company, for about the amount shown in the table, but the report does not describe a signed agreement.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
No official Visa acquisition announcement confirming the negotiations was identified for this roundup. The distinction matters: talks can be repriced, delayed or abandoned, and neither a closing date nor shareholder and regulatory conditions have been disclosed. If an agreement is eventually signed, the strategic logic would be Visa adding institutional stablecoin rails and custody capabilities to its payments network.
Why is London Stock Exchange Group buying Octus?
LSEG’s signed cash acquisition is intended to combine Octus’s credit intelligence with LSEG’s existing fixed-income data, analytics and distribution, creating a broader proposition for public, private, illiquid and distressed credit.

Octus is being acquired from Permira and Octus management. LSEG says the business has more than 900 employees and serves 750 customers. Completion is expected in the first half of 2027, but the transaction still requires regulatory approval.

LSEG chief executive David Schwimmer said, “Combining Octus’ leading proprietary data and intelligence with LSEG’s data and analytics business creates a powerful offering for our customers.” For customers, the practical change would be a more unified workflow for discovering credit information, analyzing issuers and distributing market data across public and private markets.
What does Tradeweb’s Trumid acquisition change?
Tradeweb’s agreement brings Trumid’s electronic credit-trading marketplace into a platform that already serves institutional fixed-income markets. Tradeweb describes the businesses as complementary: dealer and buy-side trading protocols would be connected with workflows that run from new-issue origination to secondary-market trading.
The announced consideration distinguishes the value of Trumid’s operating business from tax assets and separates cash from equity, so the figures should not be read as interchangeable measures of shareholder value. Tradeweb says the transaction is expected to be accretive to adjusted earnings per share within the first full year after closing, although that forecast depends on the transaction completing and the combined business performing as planned.

How would Salesforce’s Braze acquisition expand CRM?
Salesforce’s definitive agreement would add Braze’s real-time customer-engagement platform to Salesforce CRM and Agentforce. Braze supports interactions through mobile applications, websites, email, SMS and WhatsApp, giving Salesforce a way to connect customer data and automated agents with outbound engagement across those channels.
Salesforce says Braze has approximately 2,770 customers. Under the agreement, Braze Class A shareholders would receive the cash-per-share amount listed in the table. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in fiscal 2028, subject to shareholder approval and regulatory clearances, so the announcement is binding but not yet completed.

What other transactions were reported this week?
Seeking Alpha’s weekly roundup also identified these transactions and discussions:
- Qiagen and EQT: Qiagen agreed to an all-cash takeover by EQT valuing the molecular-testing company at about €10.8 billion.
- Cencora and American Oncology Network: Cencora agreed to acquire the oncology network for $2.4 billion including debt.
- CBRE and Onnec Group: CBRE agreed to acquire Onnec to expand data-center infrastructure services; a transaction value was not stated.
- DXC and Eldridge Industries: The companies were reported to be in advanced discussions over DXC’s insurance software and services unit at about $2.4 billion. This remains a reported negotiation, not a definitive agreement.
- Merck KGaA and Silence Therapeutics: Merck KGaA agreed to acquire Silence at about $1.1 billion enterprise value and approximately $1.3 billion equity value.
- Silgan Holdings, American Industrial Partners and Trivium Packaging: Silgan and affiliated funds agreed to buy Trivium at about $3.4 billion enterprise value.
What conditions could change the expected closing dates?
Every signed transaction in the headline group still has a path to closing that can alter timing or terms.
- Regulatory review: LSEG–Octus and Tradeweb–Trumid explicitly require regulatory approval, while Salesforce–Braze requires regulatory clearances as well.
- Shareholder action: Braze shareholders must approve Salesforce’s transaction before it can close.
- Customary conditions: Tradeweb’s announcement refers to customary closing conditions, which can include accuracy of representations, compliance with covenants and the absence of a material adverse change.
- Talks without agreements: Visa–Fireblocks and DXC–Eldridge have no disclosed closing timetable because negotiations have not produced definitive contracts.
How should readers compare these transactions?
- Start with status. A definitive agreement creates contractual obligations; an advanced-discussions report signals interest but can still end without a deal.
- Match the valuation measure. Enterprise value can include debt and other claims, while equity value refers to the value attributable to shareholders. Cash consideration, stock consideration and tax assets describe how a buyer is funding or valuing different parts of a transaction.
- Identify the capability being bought. LSEG and Tradeweb are adding credit-market data and trading infrastructure, Salesforce is adding engagement channels, and the proposed Visa transaction would add stablecoin custody and infrastructure.
- Check execution risk. Expected completion windows are forecasts, not guarantees. Antitrust review, shareholder votes, financing, integration planning and conditions in the purchase agreements can all affect the outcome.
- Translate strategy into user impact. The relevant question is whether customers receive broader data coverage, more trading connectivity, better engagement automation or a new payments capability—not simply whether the headline price is large.
What should readers watch next?
For the signed deals, the next meaningful signals are regulatory filings, shareholder materials where required and updated closing guidance. For the two reported negotiations, the decisive development would be a formal acquisition announcement that states definitive terms, consideration, approvals and a closing timetable. Until those disclosures arrive, the signed transactions are commitments subject to conditions, while the reported talks remain uncertain.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between enterprise value and equity value in an acquisition?
Enterprise value generally reflects the value of the operating business plus debt and other claims, less cash, while equity value is the amount attributable to shareholders. A headline enterprise-value figure therefore cannot be compared directly with a takeover price quoted only as equity value.
Why would a buyer include tax assets in a purchase price?
Tax assets can reduce future tax bills if they are usable under the applicable rules and the combined company generates enough taxable income. Their practical value depends on timing, jurisdiction and limitations, so they are shown separately from the operating-business value.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

They indicate that negotiations may be serious but do not create a legal obligation to close. Price, structure and even the identity of the eventual buyer can change before a definitive agreement, or discussions can end without an announcement.
What documents usually appear before a public-company acquisition closes?
Investors typically see a definitive agreement, regulatory filings, proxy or shareholder-vote materials when a vote is required, and updates on antitrust or sector approvals. Those documents provide the binding conditions and any revised timetable, rather than relying on an initial press report alone.
